I had the tastest pulled pork pizza last night! it had plenty of meat and cheese and the crust was done to perfectio.

The 211 is our favorite bar and restaurant "Up North" near our cottage. We almost always stop there for dinner before finishing the last 20 minutes of our 5+ hour trip from Indiana. And we like to take family and friends there while we are at the cottage as well. The food is always great! We've never had a complaint about any meal at the 211 and, because we have been there so often, I think we've tried almost everything on their menu. And they also have daily specials that are always good. The service is excellent! They make you feel like family and our entire family, from young grandchildren to those of us in our 70's, love going for lunch or dinner at "our happy place", the 211 Bar and Grill. read more

The 211 has been my go to for many years when I visit the Onaway area. Always a great meal and excellent service. Sadly, not last week. This was a dinner for 3. One ordered the pulled pork and it was perfect. The other 2 of us decided to split a perch dinner. When the food arrived we were all hungry. We dug into the perch. After a few bites, it was clear that this was NOT perch. The server stopped by, and I asked her what, exactly we were eating. She had no clue, but agreed that it was not perch. We never did get an answer, but got a 25% cut off the bill. This was very disappointing. And because of this, we did not return for more dinners as we had planned. C'mon 211. For "bar food" you'd be hard pressed to find anything better anywhere. They have anything from great pizza and burgers to really good steaks and fish (walleye, perch, bluegill and whitefish) They even have frog legs. Plenty of sandwiches to choose from as well. My friend, who has frequented this area since childhood, highly recommended this place and it did not disappoint. My entree was the pecan encrusted whitefish with vegetable, choice of potato and salad bar. Excellent. I also enjoyed a Sam Adams Octoberfest. Low top and bar seating. Clean with a outdoorsman atmosphere. Fast, friendly service. Ask for the password for wifi. Large parking lot. Very small bathroom. Right across from the entrance to Onaway State park. This place is iconic for the Onaway area. Some of us - not me - worked here as kids. Nostalgic much? But there's great food, great service, and a friendly atmosphere. RIP OFF ALERT... I'm a local, and I wanted to love this place, but something has happened in the last few years and honestly they just over charge and try to collect all the down state dollars they can now. Is it food...yes. Is it good food...well, not really but hey, if you're drunk enough so be it. I was charged $20 for three pieces of the worst fish on the planet, and one baked potato - no vegetable side, then charged $2.36 for soda water that my over taxed waitress (super nice lady) never even had a chance to refill. The only other time in my life I was ever charged for soda water was when I was outside dining and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. You don't have such a view 211, so shame on you for gouging people. That $2.36, the consistently mediocre food (at best) and over worked staff will have us going into town from now on. We've had it, too bad. read more

Everything was much better than expected!! Fresh & beautiful salad bar, even the dinner rolls on the salad bar were warm. My walleye was cooked to perfection. I might not order their special cocktail again though, it was too sweet and the juices in the mix didn't taste fresh. The service very friendly and efficient and the ambiance casual and fun. The 211 has always been a "go to" place where you can always count on a pretty solid meal. Food and drinks are fairly priced and service is good as well. While most places in these parts are only open some days, the 211 has there lights on most of the time. read more

We rolled into Black Lake hungry and came upon the 211 Bar & Grill. Well, it was national burger day, afterall! The place was pretty full as we walked in for our take-out order. Nice vide in the place. The bar was full too. The staff even gave us a flower as we waited to check out. Nice feel to the place. Everyone was eating indoors, although they had tables outside. Maybe a little chilly for outdoor dining? We went for the burgers; bacon cheese and the Bonfire. We enjoyed these beauties from the first bites. They were great burgers. The beef patty was thick and had a nice grilled taste. The bonfire burger had avocado and a sauce that made this a delicious burger. High marks for the burger operation. The chicken wrap was ok. Not to the level of the burgers, but it was decent. A little dry. Needed something else to make this a go-to item. The fries were average. Nothing to write home about. We are tough french fry critics and these were a sold 3* fry. We would definitely come back for the burgers on a return trip. And we really wanted to try the smoked pork. It's a nice place with good food if you're rich and can afford Mackinac Island prices. There are also lots of loud drunks in there at all times. It's not terrible, but you better be rich and you better wear earplugs. read more

Blown away impressed by our dinner last night. Our company was in town from Indiana and took a party of 8 to dinner. Started off with drinks at the bar. Mikey the bartender AKA the Rib King was awesome! We were sat quickly - our group tried 8 different appetizers- all were amazing. Especially the pulled pork fries. The owner and his wife both came over to the table and introduced themselves. Both seemed super passionate about customer service. Our table had the Ahi - a burger - tacos - and Mikey's famous ribs. Found this place by accident going to the campground. We were surprised to see how busy it was on a Tuesday but we now know why. The food was very good and a great choice. Tuesday was taco day, 3 for $7.00 or a dollar off any Mexican dish. But I ventured off and had the bluegill fish dinner which included a vegetable a potato and salad bar for $16.99. My husband got the Ahi tuna dinner $17.99 for him it was a bit over cooked and he would have liked wasabi. He thought the waitress said it came with wasabi sauce but it didn't. I am going to start off by saying my husbands dinner was pretty good (smothered chicken), I really enjoyed the small town atmosphere and the waitress was sweet so I didn't want to complain. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was not good at all. There were several cold spots in it, the ham on top was sliced deli meat and the cheese was more like velveeta instead of real cheese. The menu had some price updates, so I tried to ordered something on the cheaper side. It said $11 + 2 for meat, but I was charged $17. I brought it to our waitress's attention and she didn't know what to say. So, I decided to cut my losses and I left the food behind.
