The 211 is our favorite bar and restaurant "Up North" near our cottage. We almost always stop there for dinner before finishing the last 20 minutes of our 5+ hour trip from Indiana. And we like to take family and friends there while we are at the cottage as well. The food is always great! We've never had a complaint about any meal at the 211 and, because we have been there so often, I think we've tried almost everything on their menu. And they also have daily specials that are always good. The service is excellent! They make you feel like family and our entire family, from young grandchildren to those of us in our 70's, love going for lunch or dinner at "our happy place", the 211 Bar and Grill. read more

Nice little spot right outside of Onaway State park. Decent bar food. Great pulled pork nachos.

Everything was very good, highly recommend! Excellent service and fairly priced. Try the ribs !

I had the tastest pulled pork pizza last night! it had plenty of meat and cheese and the crust was done to perfectio.

This is as my first time here and I thought the food was as delicious! ai had the cod basket and it was so good! I highly recommend!

The 211 has been my go to for many years when I visit the Onaway area. Always a great meal and excellent service. Sadly, not last week. This was a dinner for 3. One ordered the pulled pork and it was perfect. The other 2 of us decided to split a perch dinner. When the food arrived we were all hungry. We dug into the perch. After a few bites, it was clear that this was NOT perch. The server stopped by, and I asked her what, exactly we were eating. She had no clue, but agreed that it was not perch. We never did get an answer, but got a 25% cut off the bill. This was very disappointing. And because of this, we did not return for more dinners as we had planned. C'mon 211. Y'all are better than this. read more

For "bar food" you'd be hard pressed to find anything better anywhere. They have anything from great pizza and burgers to really good steaks and fish (walleye, perch, bluegill and whitefish) They even have frog legs. Plenty of sandwiches to choose from as well. It's my favorite place to eat in the area. The staff is always cheerful and friendly. The 211 is a very popular northern Michigan gem for locals and tourists read more

Went there at the end of May on my vacation- I had the Walleye dinner (bread crumbed walleye, shredded parm, potato and salad bar) and a few drinks. Service was fast, environment was nice. Wish I'd come back for a second dinner on my vacation to try one of the steaks read more

Love the extensive menu and the delicious selections. Great service too. One of our favorite economical places to eat.

211 is the best Bar & Grill in our area! Always the best food, service and friendliness ! From bbq, pizza and cocktails this family knocks it out of the park. Top notch community service and always giving to charities when asked. We are partial to our server JT but anyone there will take great care of you! read more

211 Bar & Grill - Even the grandkids love it! - Bars Near Me - Onaway, Michigan

My friend, who has frequented this area since childhood, highly recommended this place and it did not disappoint. My entree was the pecan encrusted whitefish with vegetable, choice of potato and salad bar. Excellent. I also enjoyed a Sam Adams Octoberfest. Low top and bar seating. Clean with a outdoorsman atmosphere. Fast, friendly service. Ask for the password for wifi. Large parking lot. Very small bathroom. Right across from the entrance to Onaway State park. I would definitely recommend and would return. read more

Love this place. We always sit at the bar because we like to meet people. One person you need to meet is Kristen, the bartender. She is awesome. Food is very good, but the service can't be beat. The whole staff works together as a team to make everyone's visit enjoyable. Thanks to the ownership for having such a great business and putting together a great team read more

This place is iconic for the Onaway area. Some of us - not me - worked here as kids. Nostalgic much? But there's great food, great service, and a friendly atmosphere. They'll get you fed with an amazing pizza or other entrees plus a beer or whatever you're imbibing and send you on your way to fish, hunt, ski ... all things Northern Michigan. Stop in, give them a try. read more

The pulled pork sandwich is awesome! Twice the size of SSD pulled pork sandwich. The sweet potato fries taste great and are a healthier choice than regular fries. The staff works hard to deliver great food and service read more

RIP OFF ALERT... I'm a local, and I wanted to love this place, but something has happened in the last few years and honestly they just over charge and try to collect all the down state dollars they can now. Is it food...yes. Is it good food...well, not really but hey, if you're drunk enough so be it. I was charged $20 for three pieces of the worst fish on the planet, and one baked potato - no vegetable side, then charged $2.36 for soda water that my over taxed waitress (super nice lady) never even had a chance to refill. The only other time in my life I was ever charged for soda water was when I was outside dining and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. You don't have such a view 211, so shame on you for gouging people. That $2.36, the consistently mediocre food (at best) and over worked staff will have us going into town from now on. We've had it, too bad. read more

Service is always great and the food is never boring. We always have a great experience at the 211.

Everything was much better than expected!! Fresh & beautiful salad bar, even the dinner rolls on the salad bar were warm. My walleye was cooked to perfection. I might not order their special cocktail again though, it was too sweet and the juices in the mix didn't taste fresh. The service very friendly and efficient and the ambiance casual and fun. The live music was very nice. read more

I really neat bar near Black Lake in northern lower Michigan. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is awesome, the employees are all friendly and work hard. All plusses. read more

The 211 has always been a "go to" place where you can always count on a pretty solid meal. Food and drinks are fairly priced and service is good as well. While most places in these parts are only open some days, the 211 has there lights on most of the time. read more

Excellent food and couldn't be a nicer staff of people. We go at least once every time we go to our cabin.

We rolled into Black Lake hungry and came upon the 211 Bar & Grill. Well, it was national burger day, afterall! The place was pretty full as we walked in for our take-out order. Nice vide in the place. The bar was full too. The staff even gave us a flower as we waited to check out. Nice feel to the place. Everyone was eating indoors, although they had tables outside. Maybe a little chilly for outdoor dining? We went for the burgers; bacon cheese and the Bonfire. We enjoyed these beauties from the first bites. They were great burgers. The beef patty was thick and had a nice grilled taste. The bonfire burger had avocado and a sauce that made this a delicious burger. High marks for the burger operation. The chicken wrap was ok. Not to the level of the burgers, but it was decent. A little dry. Needed something else to make this a go-to item. The fries were average. Nothing to write home about. We are tough french fry critics and these were a sold 3* fry. We would definitely come back for the burgers on a return trip. And we really wanted to try the smoked pork. The menu had many other items that we'd like to try. Another day! Well done 211 Bar & Grill. We'll definitely spread the word. Worth checking out! You won't be sorry. read more

Once again the 211 did not disappoint delicious food great service and lovely fellowship in the restaurant!!

It's a nice place with good food if you're rich and can afford Mackinac Island prices. There are also lots of loud drunks in there at all times. It's not terrible, but you better be rich and you better wear earplugs. read more

We love the "211." The staff is super friendly and the food is great! They can be very busy, but we always enjoy the dinner!

10/10 will always recommend this place! Great food and even greater staff. I try something new every time I go and it never disappoints

Blown away impressed by our dinner last night. Our company was in town from Indiana and took a party of 8 to dinner. Started off with drinks at the bar. Mikey the bartender AKA the Rib King was awesome! We were sat quickly - our group tried 8 different appetizers- all were amazing. Especially the pulled pork fries. The owner and his wife both came over to the table and introduced themselves. Both seemed super passionate about customer service. Our table had the Ahi - a burger - tacos - and Mikey's famous ribs. The highlight of the night was our server JT. His energy - and suggestions were spot on. This a gem up north! Don't leave without trying the apple pie shot! read more

Found this place by accident going to the campground. We were surprised to see how busy it was on a Tuesday but we now know why. The food was very good and a great choice. Tuesday was taco day, 3 for $7.00 or a dollar off any Mexican dish. But I ventured off and had the bluegill fish dinner which included a vegetable a potato and salad bar for $16.99. My husband got the Ahi tuna dinner $17.99 for him it was a bit over cooked and he would have liked wasabi. He thought the waitress said it came with wasabi sauce but it didn't. Great to have these options in Northern Michigan. read more

This place was pretty bussin. Pizza was good. Those who got burgers said they were damn tasty. The only bad review in our group was for the Caucasian style tacos. Apparently this honkies don't know how to make Mexican food. read more

We had a wonderful experience here! The food was great and it had a really nice and friendly atmosphere. Nate was our server and he was top notch and so nice. We're definitely going back read more

I am going to start off by saying my husbands dinner was pretty good (smothered chicken), I really enjoyed the small town atmosphere and the waitress was sweet so I didn't want to complain. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was not good at all. There were several cold spots in it, the ham on top was sliced deli meat and the cheese was more like velveeta instead of real cheese. The menu had some price updates, so I tried to ordered something on the cheaper side. It said $11 + 2 for meat, but I was charged $17. I brought it to our waitress's attention and she didn't know what to say. So, I decided to cut my losses and I left the food behind. I should have asked for a manager but it was rush hour and we are tourists. No photo of dinner but I got one of the bear read more
