We started with the Burrata which was fresh and creamy with olive oil, balsamic, micro basil and French bread baguettes for dipping.

We got there at 4pm just when happy hour started. Score!! $5 cocktails (select drinks) and 40% off small plates. Pretty amazing happy hour! We orders non-happy hour drinks - the hibiscus spritz was the perfect summer drink! We order a few small plates - the Mezzi, short ribs, and crab cakes. Delicious!! Service was great! I saw a few pups when we left. The patio is dog friendly! Always good to know!

Located close to downtown Petoskey, Palette Bistro offers views of the lake from their back porch, indoor seating, and a nice front patio. We were seated out front and greeted promptly by our friendly server. We started the meal with the crab cakes, and I decided on a farmer's pasta with salmon as my entree. In between we had fresh bread with a sweet balsamic and olive oil for dipping. Our server was fantastic. Appropriately attentive, and going the extra mile to help grab things for kiddo (like a coloring sheet and mug full of crayons), to make sure that everyone enjoyed the meal. The ambiance is relaxed and definitely a vacation vibe, and we enjoyed winding down our day that way. If you're in the area and need a place to grab dinner, Palette Bistro deserves a spot on your list!

It's not pretentious, as you are greeted by the a member of their friendly staff as you enter. There are multiple facets to this venue, so it makes your visit exciting. I wont share any "spoiler's" so when you visit you can experience all the niceties personally. Food is fresh and menu changes occur seasonally. Tonite we only had appetizers but they were both very good. We had the Baked Brie, a puff pastry filled with creamy Brie and a jam dressing. It included a very tasty fruit and nut cracker, sliced apples and Carmel corn nuggets. Great combination of sweet and savory! We also had the Shrimp Cocktail. You get 8 very nice size shrimp, which were nicely chilled (nothing worse than warm shrimp) and cocktail sauce. The shrimp were fresh and meaty, good flavor. The staff is great. Riley did a great job taking care of us. We were also greeted by the owner John, who was visiting and talking with every table of guests. This IMO is a sign of a establishment that wants to insure their patrons are happy and enjoying their experience. We would definitely recommend giving them a try when in Cheboygan or the area.

The smashburgers were perfectly executed--juicy, flavorful, and layered with the kind of detail you can taste in every bite. The chicken wings had that ideal balance of crisp and tenderness, and the potato salad? Comforting, creamy, and done right. But the real standout for me was the cannoli pizza--creative, indulgent, and completely unforgettable. Beyond the food, what truly sets Pond Hill Farm apart is the experience. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming--exactly what you want for a night out in Northern Michigan. As a fellow local business, I also deeply appreciate how supportive they are of the community. It means something--and it shows in everything they do. If you haven't been, go. We were there during dueling piano night. It was pretty crowded, but the folks behind the bar were doing a great job of getting everyone served. If you're staying in Petoskey or Harbor Springs, it's worth the pretty drive.
