Accomplishing all this while keeping the prices reasonable at a time when so many other restaurants are taking unnecessary advantage and being greedy while blaming inflation. It can't be easy so again thank you. The weather today was overcast, but at the landing the atmosphere was sunny and bright! My husband & I came with our 1 year old for a late lunch/early dinner for my birthday! We've been here once before about 3 years ago when we were visiting the area & the food was delicious with great service then & the same was true today! One of the managers, Lisa, stopped by our table to check on us. She was so nice & told me she loved my daughter's pigtails (she said she never got to do any fun girl hairstyles because she's a 4 time boy mom lol) We were out shopping in town & decided to come back here for food! The pulled pork sandwich was delicious & my husband loved his perch dinner! We tried to get our daughter to eat the grilled cheese kids meal, but she decided my husband & my food was better lol The sweet potato waffle fries are really good! I loved the peanut butter sauce but did not care for the strawberry jelly dip. 3 years ago we ate here on a sunny day & it was beautiful. First time. Has a very similar vibe (on a smaller scale) to an institution on Marco Island called Snook Inn. We felt right at home. Long wait to be expected, but we wedged in to the bar. The restaurant has a large parking lot but it could be confusing to those not knowing as the road leading to it is also where vehicles line up for the ferry. Our first go I opted for the Lobster roll and she went with the roasted vegetable grain bowl. Lobster roll was solid but the lobster was a little too cold to be delicious. She loved hers! Love this place! This has been one of my favorite spots up north for a long time, but they've actually improved on a good thing -- and the longer wait times of enthusiastic patrons are proof. Even though we had to wait an hour, getting here relatively early for dinner, they've made waiting pretty enjoyable. With many small tables and chairs tables overlooking the water, to both an inside and outside bar area, to an area with outdoor games for kids and adults, there's things to occupy the time. The views of lake charlevoix from the large outdoor seating area of the restaurant are terrific. The menu offers a few faves that are hard to find -- such as lobster rolls and the service is great too. We each got a summer salad and added lobster. The portions of lobster were large enough to justify the almost $40 each salad cost with added. We also got fries to share. And we had drinks while waiting for the table. So it wasn't a cheap night, but it was tasty, enjoyable and memorable. read more

Love this restaurant! Right on Lake Charlevoix where you can pull up in your boat and tie down in the marina. The pork nachos were delicious. Jack our server was very prompt, polite and courteous. The view on the deck with the boats coming in is amazing. Loved watching the itonton ferry going back and forth. Enjoyed a Miami vice drink while enjoying the view. We took the ferry across to the Landing Restaurant. It was a fun experience. The restaurant has tables inside as well as outside on the lakes edge. It's a beautiful setting! We're shared the PB&J Sweet Potato fries on a recommendation from friends. They were interesting, but not really our thing. Too sweet. The Lake Perch basket was delicious. Had a solid Dock Master burger today & an order of their house specialty fries. Loaded with Bay Seasoning and slathered in the medium hot sauce they have at every table. Seated in a cool breezy patio table with a smiling server who works weekends. Linda had a Salmon something or other. MA selected the fish tacos & kid brother hit up another burger loaded to the max. Oddly enough they were "86" Modelo & Linny for my summer Shanty choice. Waitress brought me a local brew from Bellaire that tasted like the bartender mixed lemonade with my draft. The landing is good comfort food on the lake with the open air tables providing the ambiance. The service works well but it isn't a 4-5 star restaurant either. Tables move pretty quickly as the food is served as it is ready which we prefer(make sure you ask). It's pleasant to watch the boat traffic on the lake while you talk and eat. read more

The totality of the dining experience at the Landing Restaurant makes it one of our favorite destinations when in the area. Best waterfront dining view, hands down. Gorgeous patio; clean, casual, hip. It is so fun to watch the Ironton ferry shuttle people and cars back and forth. Ample parking with waiting areas filled with beautiful flowers and water views. If you come during lunch and dinner rush, expect to wait. The staff are all wonderful. Many staff look young yet they are all friendly and well-trained. We watched a manager respond to a challenge seating a large group and were impressed with how gracious and friendly she was with customers who appeared disgruntled. Now for the food: honestly, if this review were based on taste alone, y rating would be closer to a 3-4. However, portions are ample, well presented, arrived hot and were good. In an area with great food, it's definitely the ambience and wonderfully run restaurant that keeps us coming back. And the prices... so reasonable we had to do a double take when we received our bill. We shared two entrees and drank only water, yet were still impressed with the reasonable pricing. The lobster roll was disappointing. The lobster itself tasted very bland and lacked the rich, sweet flavor you'd expect. It would have benefited from being tossed in warm butter or a little fresh lemon juice. Fresh tarragon and chives could have elevated the sandwich and added the brightness and flavor it was missing. At nearly $100 for two lobster rolls, I expected a much more memorable meal. In hindsight, another entrée on the menu may have been a better choice. For that price, I was hoping for a lobster roll that really showcased the quality of the lobster. read more

And the service was top notch as well, even though I felt the waitress was focusing a little too much on her friends who had come to the restaurant. Knowledgeable girls at the front that know the correct wait time. Just outside the front door is a sidebar and play area for the kiddos. This afternoon, we chose to eat lunch at The Landing. To avoid the lunch rush, we arrived at 1:30 and were immediately seated in the outdoor patio on the banks of Lake Charlevoix, adjacent to the car ferry. All tables have umbrellas for shade which was great because the temp and humidity were both in the 80's. Fortunately a fairly consistent breeze kept it comfortable. We both chose the lamb burger which is a mixture of ground beef and lamb on a focaccia bun with a slab of feta, bib lettuce, pickled onions and a succulent sauce that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. It was accompanied with fried potato chips and made for a total party in my mouth! We tried a tequila mocktail which I didn't care for. Our server, the hostess and all other employees were friendly and obviously love their jobs. We'll definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Having grown up in Charlevoix, The Landing was typically a place reserved for boaters and out-of-towners. However, as I was traveling (from downstate) solo in the area, I decided that I would give them a try for dinner. No regrets! Despite it being a Sunday night, the place was still packed with a 75-minute wait. The bar area was full, as well, so I opted to take my food to-go, which was an easy process. The staff was friendly, and the perch dinner did not disappoint. I was at first surprised that it only consisted of four small pieces, but between them, the (upgraded for $3.50) side of broccolini, and the slaw, it was plenty of food and very delicious. I would love to return my next trip up so that I can sample the rum cocktails and enjoy a seat on the water. read more

I haven't been here in two decades and it's better than I remember. The footprint feels bigger and has been opened to the outside. Outside has been divided into multiple zones on different levels. This does a great job to make the tables feel more private and not clustered too close together, while still providing lots of tables. I ordered the Appetizer PB&J Sweet Potato Fries ($8.50) and a Bbq Pulled Pork Sandwich ($12). The Fries were waffle fries and verry good, however the Thai Peanut Butter and smoked strawberry jam sauces made the appetizer Outstanding! Mixing the sauces and fries was just perfect. The Pork Sandwich was perfect it had a mustard based BBQ sauce which is a different twist from most bbq sandwiches in the area. It has a generous portion of meat that was juicy and delicious and had a very nice bun with it. The person I was with ordered the Lamb Burger ($14) and declared it delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was still juicy. It had a neat bun too. The service was very good and friendly, even though they were super busy. Overall an easy 5 star review? Would I return? 5 STARS without question! From the waitstaff to the location to the food this place has it all! Beautiful location and we were lucky to snag a table in minutes. Our waitress Terra was incredible. I had the Maine Lobster Roll which is a must! Pay the money it's delicious. My husband had the Perch Sandwich which was just as good with Beach fries. The Landings homemade sauces were really good we loved their tarter sauce for the perch, the old bay malt vinegar that came with the fries, and the lemon herb sauce on my lobster roll. This place has become one of my favorite places AROUND! I brought my family here to try it from Petoskey and we absolutely loved everything about it. Next time we will be bringing our boat and docking it to eat. It was very busy when we went but only had like a 2 minute wait (long enough to order a drink at the tiki bar.) Would've took more pictures but I literally was just enjoying the moment and the delicious food. We had the bay French fries which was amazing. We split them between the 3 of us to snack on before our other food was ready. My uncle ordered a salad and he said was great. I ordered the bbq pulled pork sandwich and the flavor of it was so delicious, some of the best pulled pork I've ever had. My aunt ordered the beef nachos and they were the best we've ever had! So good. Our service was super fast. Our waitress was named "Meg". She has awesome, very friendly and was very informational about the items on the menu with us being our first time there. She was outstanding!! And even told us about the ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Everything was great! The entire setup of the restaurant is super cute and very chill.
