Boozy coffee and hot chocolate

We had a great experience at forty acres this weekend. We loved the maple sriracha wings so much we had them twice! The festive holiday drinks were also very good and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. My husband enjoyed the French dip and commented that beef was very tender and cooked perfectly! We definitely look forward to swinging by next time we're in town.

Best restaurant at the Boyne Mountain Resort. Located right at the foot of the mountain steps away from the main ski lift this tavern of smack dab at the center of the fun. It's small but packs a pretty decent crown either belly up to the bar or at high and low top tables. There is a tv in a central location playing sports related programming and there is quite a buzz in the atmosphere with the usual level of barroom noise. The service is fast and friendly. The servers know the menu well and can make food and drink recommendations to your taste. The cocktails were strong and tasty and the menu has very decent bar fare and even some more fancy offerings. My group's absolute favorite appetizers were the honey siracha wings, the crab cakes and the spinach and artichoke dip. All were yummy! I can also say that the seafood pasta was top notch. If you are in the area, I do recommend stopping in. You will have a good time.

The most unsanitary food prep area. Imagine what happens in the back kitchen....

The most disgusting prep counter ever. Personal vape, drinks, cellphone -- how can any supervisor or manager allow this at a food establishment? This was a working prep area also as I watched them prep some food for guests here. Food was meh and way over priced -- but it's a resort so I get it. But this was gross and definitely not food safe. Caution eating at this place...I'll never be back.

Very good service and yummy food 100% would recommend nice place great people great vibes

Wow! So tasty! I had the gluten free loaded grilled cheese, much better than you'd think, and the salad. There are quite a few gluten free options It isn't cheap, and it's a little crowded BUT the taste and variety are superb, and the servers are incredible

On our spring break ski trip to Boyne Mountain, our favorite spot to eat was easily Forty Acres Tavern. They are located slopeside at the base of the Hemlock lift. They had plenty of tables set up outside and the weather was ideal for this! Happy hour runs 4-6 everyday but Friday and Saturday, featuring $5 craft beers. I recommend Petoskey Brewing Everett's IPA. As far as food goes, their fried chicken sandwich was very good. It a large panko fried breast topped with provolone, coleslaw, spicy pickles, and lemon sriracha aioli on a brioche bun ($17). Their onion rings are also very good. I would also recommend the loaded grilled cheese, which actually has cheese grilled to the outside and inside of the sandwich. It is stuffed with aged cheddar, provolone, feta, applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onion, avocado, and tomato aioli on Texas toast ($16). Their sweet potato fries are also very good and go well with this sandwich. Our service was great. Prices are high, but as to be expected on the slopes. I would definitely go back for more!

Calamari

Probably the best restaurant at the Boyne Resort. It's still overpriced as expected but the quality is higher than the rest. The staff was very friendly and I need to give a shout-out to the young host working that night. He was very helpful and working a busy night. The calamari was pretty good considering we are in northern Michigan at a tavern. It was large enough to share with our large table as well. I ordered the burger with onion rings and I enjoyed it. The table next to us complained that all of their burgers were over cooked, which made me nervous for mine to show up. To my surprise, it was cooked how I asked and I had no complaints. The onion rings definitely hit the spot as well. As I said above, my only complaint is that it's overpriced. My wife and I each had an entree and we shared calamari and we paid $75 after a 20% tip. We didn't order any drinks or dessert either. Seems way too steep for a tavern but you are on a resort. We wouldn't go out of our way to eat here again but it's convenient if you don't want to leave the property.

Good food and service but a little expensive . It's close to home, which is always a plus.

RACIST BARTENDER!!!…read more On New Year's Eve 12/31/2025 night at like 10pm, I came to this lounge with family and friends to celebrate the holidays after leaving the Boyne Mountain ski resort nearby. We waited in line, showed ID, all that good stuff. After finding a good spot to hang at in the lounge, I walked up to the bar. My folks ordered, but I waited a while like 15 minutes before I decided I wanted a drink too. I asked one of the bartenders who was a skinny blonde "Excuse me". No response. There was loud music playing and people talking, so I didn't make a fuss. They have to tend to a lot of people and probably get overwhelmed easily. I turn to chat with my friends again then ask again after 5 minutes, "Excuse me". Just like before, no attitude or sense of entitlement. An ordinary "Excuse me", thinking I'm being well-mannered since I'm not from MI. The blonde bartender continues to serve others in front of me, and I turn around and chat with my friends again. Another 5 or so minutes pass, and I ask "Excuse me" again. And then she aggressively turns towards me and says "You're cut off. We don't do that here" with the most aggressively annoyed looking face ever. Mind you, I'm completely SOBER as I've yet to be served a drink! But I respond back with "I was just trying to get your attention and this was the only way since the music's so loud". I turn back around to face my folks and just rolled my eyes and left the situation as is (atp I actually was upset). I kid you not, a minute later, a skinny guy approaches me and says she's kicking me out and that I need to grab my coat from the rack... I don't hesitate and immediately leave because I refuse to stay where I'm not wanted. Overall piss poor service and mistreatment from staff/bartenders. 0/10 experience. Do NOT recommend at all. After I left, my friend's family stayed to defend me and tell her I did nothing wrong. My friend's mom even asked her "Excuse me" in the most Karen of fashions to prove a point and, in fact, was not kicked out. I cannot make this up people... God awful establishment.

The inside wasn't busy but we had arrived at an off time (after lunch but not yet dinner). They have a pizza special for take-away so we were in luck! It is a typical bar/pub atmosphere but seemed really pleasant and if you did fine in they had some patio seats along the River which would be nice to try. We waited a short time and our pizza came out rather quickly. They are wood oven done so we were excited to try it! It didn't disappoint and we were delighted with the chew and texture! It was just right for two people and had plenty of toppings. We had asked for one to be left off, but I just picked it off and gave it to my husband (not s fan of ham). Overall though it was a good pizza and loved the chew of the crust. We would for sure go back and try it again. The bartender as well was friendly and so next time might sit for drinks with our pizza!

Happy St. Patrick's Day !…read more Went out for an early lunch today - hubby had their corned beef sandwich, he said it was fantastic, meat was very tender and it was really stacked on there. Large sandwich - he brought 1/2 home it was so big, unusual for him to bring food home, but they give you a lot, came with fries and he said they were also great. I had a pineapple/red onion Pizza - delicious as always, Carl makes a super pizza - nice, mild homemade sauce on the pizza, big chunks of pineapple and red onions are sweet, not strong. Cooked to perfection, their pizzas are 14" (I think, might be 12", I've forgotten as I don't look at menu when I want pizza, just order my usual) I usually eat 3 pieces and bring home 3, today I ate 4 pieces, it was just so good, probably could have eaten the rest, but saved it for a snack tonight. If you want a non-alcoholic drink, they have the BEST Rootbeer around! Our server (I'm sorry I've forgotten your name), your green tutu is adorable. Service was awesome as usual update from previous review regarding music, it was not as loud as it was back in 2024 - mix of Irish music today
