Lavender Vodka?! Say what?! Simply decorated just enough to feel that ambiance of a warm distillery. We sat at the bar and dabbled in the Lavender spritz and a Manhattan. We stan Mammoth Distilling. We stopped here not once, but twice while visiting Northern Michigan. Granted the options in a town the size of Bellaire are slim, but this was a solid one. Our first day we had a nice lady serving / mixing for us. She helped chat through some options and made us some killer drinks. Big fans of the Picante and the Central Lake Sour. The space is cute and clean and there is plenty of seating. We look forward to hopefully visiting again in the future! read more

This past visit I only ran in to grab a bottle of Whiskey! We are renovating our bar at home and I want to have Michigan made booze to have as offerings, as well as show pieces, so when we were in Bellaire I knew I had to stop into Mammoth and grab a bottle. I asked the bartender which Whiskey she would recommend, and she was more than happy to give me recommendations and a bit of information about all of them to help me make my decision. A very quick exchange, but super friendly, helpful and pleasant! I will say that we had visited in June of 2020 and had a few drinks while we were there.. they were all delicious and very impressive. Unique and truly exciting to try. This is why I knew I had to have a bottle of Mammoth for our bar! The bartender had so much knowledge of the drinks, the different liquors, all of the pours that we requested. We were so satisfied with the flavor of the bourbon, that we bought a bottle. I'm glad to see that Mammoth is doing well enough to expand to downtown Bellaire! This tasting room is very close to Short's. We did a flight with the strawberry rhubarb vodka, American whiskey, rye whiskey, and coffee liqueur. We also each got a craft cocktail- I had the strawberry rhubarb vodka/lemonade one and it was stellar. If you think you don't like coffee liqueur but have only tried Kahlua, Mammoth's is worth a sip - it's not so syrupy or sweet and has a true coffee flavor. We bought a bottle to take home (so they didn't charge us for our tasting flight- so nice). The rye whiskey is smoother and maybe a little milder than other ryes I've tried, which is a plus for me. Their eclectic music selection was on point for a chill sipping afternoon. Hand sanitizer is available on every table, masks are required when you're not seated. As a plus, the bathrooms are a single-person set up so they're both unisex, which I believe is the best way to go right now! read more
