Had a wonderful experience at the parlor during a recent get away to Traverse City. Went with a large group of friends and it had more than enough space to accommodate our group of 12. The waitress was very cheerful and attentive making for a fun experience. The happy hour at this place can't be beat half off all drinks. The drinks were all delicious. It was apparent they were made by a bartender that cares about his craft. The food was also great we just got some snacks but everything was so good especially the hummus and burrata. read more

Happy hour is THE BEST deal!! we had 6 drinks and a $25 pizza ($22 + 3 extra Italian sausage=$25). Service was TERRIFIC !! Attentive without being overbearing or overly obsequious. atmosphere on the patio in summer is terrific. What is there not to love about summer and Traverse City?! Inside it's very cozy and I would think it would be terrific anytime of the year, comfortable sofas, plenty of small and large party seating available. We popped into Parlor to grab a quick drink before another reservation downtown. It was pretty busy, but we grabbed a spot at the bar and were greeted quickly. The happy hour deals here are amazing - 1/2 off all cocktails if I remember correctly, which is an awesome deal. Very cozy inside with them playing some old movies, which was a nice touch. Cool, speakeasy vibe place with interesting cocktails and also a good variety of beers and apps. There are several seating areas arranged in cubby-like areas to be able to hear your own people, and there are silent, looping 3 Stooges films showing on the wall (could improve with a couple different movies streaming). It was quiet enough on a Sunday night that we really enjoyed the relative quiet and great service! All apps were great - spinach artichoke dip, cheese bread, and brussels sprouts even! Stayed at the AirB&B (highly recommend it) a few feet down from this swanky, eclectic bar. Super great bartenders and the drinks were inventive. Saw a really great keyboardist one night. A savant really. We had brunch there on Sunday and the food is terrific. The inside has this warm, dark wood antique feel with velvet couches /chairs and a fireplace. Highly recommend! read more

Ok, the happy hour keeps us coming here but anyone who stays one second after 6 pm is literally crazy. If you're seeking eye contact with a bartender to let him or her know you'd like another, forget it..it's actively avoided. Happily stumbled upon this "hole-in-the-wall" type of bar. Was not disappointed either due to the unique drinks our group had. Our group was looking for our next destination and found this great dive bar! We had briefly eaten at another place before hand, so we got a small bite to eat here, a medium sized pepperoni pizza. The pizza was very tasty and not very greasy at all! The main attraction for us, were the drinks. We got a couple beers all around between us five, but two of us (myself included), got these awesome smoky old fashions. I wish I could upload the video, but it was quite the presentation. The waitress came out with this blow torch to light this mixture to create a woody smoke, that was then infused into the old fashion. By far, the best one I've ever had. Definitely worth the price. We ended up getting two of them a piece they were so good and nicely prepared. read more

Chill bar with good ambiance, a few blocks from the main drag of downtown Traverse City. We've been a couple of times over the years of TC trips, It can get a bit busy, especially on nights they have live music. Good service, good drinks, including fancy cocktails. Not very many menu items to select, but it's an idea place for lunch. Dined on Bacon Wrapped Shrimp which was well seasoned and tasty, very moist Crab Cakes which were flavorful. The Truffle Mac N Cheese wasn't anything special but interesting to explore. Their Nacho plate is humongous!!!, delicious and fun to eat, next time we'll just order the Nacho plate and some drinks. Their cocktails are strong and meticulously crafted. We had the Maytag Martini and a MOjito. They have a phenomenal beer selection but I can't remember which one's I had or how many, " blame it on the alcohol " The service was outstanding!, our server Josh was very, very attentive. I really like The Parlor! My trip turned into a blustery winter weekend and it squashed my spirits just bit, until I settled into The Parlor! The best cocktails, really attentive staff. I had already had an appetizer from another location prior to ducking in here, so I wasn't hungry. But my Aviation cocktail was delicious and I enjoyed the bar atmosphere a lot. The Parlor has some of the best Cocktails in Traverse City and is a great stop after dinner or as a destination of its own. But... be prepared to wait around. The Parlor's drink menu is inventive and wide-ranging. I highly recommend trying the peach bourbon lemonade and the blackberry smash in the summer, or warming up with the "smoke stack" cocktail on a chilly winter evening (especially worth it to sit at the bar and see the bartender make the drink in front of you). But, while the drinks are excellent, the destination needs to work on its service and flow. While the bartenders are friendly, they are clearly overburdened on busy days. On my latest visit (a Thursday night), it was unclear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves, as there was no host, and we snagged a table after waiting around. Then, a bartender/server said they would be right with us to take our orders, but never returned. We had to go up to the bar to order our first round. The server eventually came by and took a second drink order, but then stopped by again to ask how we were doing, to which I had to say "good, but we're still waiting on those drinks" (it seemed like he had forgot to place the order with the bar). The Parlor has a great hole-in-the-wall ambiance, friendly service, and an excellent cocktail list, but will remain a slower, weekday spot for me until it proves that it can handle the weekend and summer rush. Come for creative drinks and a laid back atmosphere, skip if you're on a bar crawl or trying to grab a quick drink. read more

This was a very cool spot! Seating was spaced out, staff wearing masks, patrons wearing masks when not at their tables- so it felt safe. Inside looked very cool! They have an eclectic mix of vintage chairs arranged into small seating areas. Currently they have a large outdoor seating area with multicolor chairs. We sat outside and enjoyed some drinks. We came in for pre-dinner drinks. They have a terrific cocktail menu. All of our drinks were great. They also have a nice selection of craft beers. Our server was super friendly and had a great understanding of the different beers offered and make some great suggestions. We did not order any food as we already had dinner reservations nearby. This is a review of an old favorite here and feel bad we never gave them proper credit. The four of us started with the most awesome, creamy spinach artichoke dip we've had in a long time. Served with chips and bread, it started us off properly. The deviled eggs were good but had a bit too strong of a mustard taste. For dinner we all split Mac-and-cheese with a side of pulled pork and BBQ sauce. Our daughter said it was one of the best she's had in a long time! We also split a Don Ho pizza - it was a visual masterpiece with a like rating on the taste. Somehow the crust wasn't thin but was crunchy. And I can't not talk about the barrel-aged Manhattan with Antica vermouth enough....but I had to have 2!! Lastly, our waitress was sweet, bubbly and attentive.
