    Breakfast for $9.50 Yum

Absolutely delicious breakfast - the pancake had to be 8" in diameter & there were 2 ! Plus 2 eggs & 2 pcs of bacon .... For 9.50? Wow ! Plus they were so accommodating- we had our ( well behaved ) dog with us & they set up a table outside - remember to bring cash!

Environment: Very homey (literal), small place, I felt as if I was eating breakfast in my own home. Great view of Mullet Lake. Customer service: Our waiter was so sweet, helpful and gave us great service. Very much appreciated. Food: Wonderful homestyle food, in my opinion a little too greasy (or buttery) for my taste. I enjoyed their veggie omelette along with hash browns and cinnamon roll. Everything was perfectly cooked, and tasted good. Price: For all the amazing food we got it was so cheap, and for how good it tasted I believe it was a great price. Overall. I really enjoyed my visit here, will definitely be coming again!!

Incredible food. You get a lot of food for the price. It's like a home cooked meal from mom.

This beautiful restaurant once belonged to my grandparents -Robert and Ida Graham. It was so wonderful to come see it looking so nice. And such great owners and staff. It was truly a wonderful visit. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

The main issue was that we were really hungry, having spent hours waiting on auto repair. The brisket tacos did not satisfy but to alleviate hunger. The flour tortillas were what my sister called 'raw'. They were not heated at all. The brisket meat was lukewarm warm. The cabbage slaw was raw. There was a dab of chunky plastic jar salsa already placed in the middle of each taco. Chips and salsa: the salsa was in a very small plastic thimble. We couldn't even fit a chip into the salsa. The best part about our dinner: the server asked if everything was good. I told her that it was definitely not my favorite EVER. The wonderful thing about this was that she asked me to explain. She did not show an animosity and was truly inquisitive about our dislike of the food. She said that she would tell 'him'. I am assuming that 'he' would be the cook. I appreciated her concern because the bill was about $40 and when my sister can't finish her meal that's a problem. It was about 430 and I hadn't eaten all day so I did finish mine but I couldn't say that I was not pleased with it. Although nothing was spoiled and it certainly could've been worse. I don't know if I could trust going back. I think that they could do a real light marinade on the cabbage to soften it a bit and if they fried the tortillas and maybe offered corn or tortilla in the beginning, it would be an improvement. Or how about if the salsa so called and in such a tiny vessel, it wasn't tasteless but clearly store-bought. Any restaurant should be able to do something with this information. I don't mean to be negative or demeaning, but I do intend to given an honest review based on my impression. Good luck Breakers. I was actually very happy to see that something was open during this flooding season. Unfortunately, I would've driven 50 miles further to have a better dinner.

My husband ordered the feature rainbow trout almandine and loved it. I ordered the feature 12 oz NY Strip with my shrooms. VERY flavorful and tender. My baked sweet potato side was amazing. The building is iconic northern Michigan and a must see. The interior, though interesting and full of character, is tired, dark, and even grungy. It needs a serious re-do and freshen-up. Downside- prices were very high for the quality of the food ( we have some great steak restaurants in chicago so that's our comparison). I had the 6oz filet and my husband had the prime rib. Both were fine - not the best or worst we've had- but for $50 plus per entree I expect a nice piece of meat. The entree came with broccoli- overcooked mush- and choice of potato. I love baked sweet potatoes so that's what I ordered. It was tiny, maybe two inches, and when I cut it open it shrunk to half its size, like the turkey in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! The dinner salads are extra and $14 for the wedge. Not unusual for a steak house, but the wedge was an 8th of a head of lettuce. I had a vodka soda and my husband had coke. My husband ordered the strawberry shortcake for dessert and loved it but it was $24. The kitchen/chef needs to up their game. We have no problem spending over $200 on a great meal, but not the quality that we got. Sides/vegetables are not expensive and pretty easy to get right. Not sure why they are cutting corners. Glad we experienced it but would not go back. The place is worth seeing but just have a drink at the bar and skip the food. Not worth it.

The food: Not impressed. 1/8# burgers with the same pricing as a normal restaurant. Fish and chips $4-5 more than average. A medium rare cheeseburger is served well-done Server was very sweet, but not knowledgeable at all. (We really don't blame her at all) We asked about 3 different items, and she was honest about not trying any dishes, maybe new? Day one training should have given staff a taste of signature food so they have something to share with customers. It was also obvious she forgot to put our drink order in and took forever to bring it to us. The place has a great view of the river, but we were so let down after waiting so long to get in. So many spoke so highly of this place, we were really hoping it to be a great experience-but it's really nothing to brag about. We finally came by during mid-afternoon while it was pouring, minimal customers and service should have been on point, but it wasn't. I can't recommend this place at all.
