I found this place when looking for dining options for a gourmet meal in Dublin. Our favourite restaurant was fully booked so we decided to check this out. I am glad we decided to go here as the food is divine and the atmosphere is very nice and casual but very comfortable. They have a lunch and dinner menu. The dinner menu is a 4 or 6 course surprise tasting menu prepared each day. The chef here has won best chef in Ireland at least twice and has created a menu which blends Nordic and Irish flavours into a sublime menu. The foie Gras was simply amazing as was the turbot and the venison. I loved my dessert and in all there was only one dish which I did not like out of the 8-9 courses we were served. Service is good but slightly uncoordinated. For a top end restaurant I expect a bit more. The food however made up for it. The sommelier was very nice and friendly and some of the waiters were also very nice and friendly. I would definitely come here again for a meal. Prices are not over the top and the flavours are subtle but divine. A great place for a posh meal in Dublin :-)

Do not go unless you're willing to wait 30mjn between each course and budget 3 hours of your evening for a 6 course meal. We visited the Greenhouse on our recent trip to Dublin. As the trip was rather short, we researched all the Michelin star restaurants close to the hotel and based upon the reviews, decided to visit the Greenhouse. First, for travelers coming from out of the country: you can make a reservation on the website and they'll put a pre authorization on your credit card (there's a fine chargeable to the card just like at any other Michelin restaurant if you don't show up). Our reservation was for Tuesday, at 6pm. We arrived promptly and were greeted upon entering restaurant and seated. We were presented with two options for a tasting menu: a 4 course or 6course. Since we were rather hungry, we decided to opt for 6 courses which was also only slightly more expensive. I'll cut to the bottom: the food was actually pretty good. However, the time we spent sitting at an empty table and wondering if they had kitchen problems that night was something that should have never happened at a restaurant like this. Also, inconsistency was another thing that was clearly visible. The restaurant was not that busy and we were the first table that arrived that night, followed by a couple other tables. The rounds for each one of the three tables would always come out at the same time yet they were always served In a different order. For example, the second round would be served to table 3, our table then table 2. Then the next round would be first served to our table, then table 2 and 3 etc even though we were all sitting at our empty tables and waiting half an hour for the next course to appear. There was no apology from the waitress or the manager and judging by other reviews, the timing and inconsistency is something the restaurant struggles with on a daily basis. If we were local, this might have not been such a huge deal but having a limited time in Dublin, I almost regret going to the green house since we were forced to sacrifice other attractions that night due to the extreme length of service. Would not return.

4.5 stars **** This was my first international Michelin star restaurant. I dined here for lunch and did their 3 course set menu for 60 euros. We also added their creamed potatoes for 7 euros. The meal started out with their fresh bread and Irish butter. Irish butter is so amazing. The cows here must be something else. After the bread came the croquettes made in charcoal stuffed with pudding. This was a nice start to our menu. My appetizer was the foie gras royale. Omg this was one of the best dishes I have ever had. I could not get enough. I would come back especially for this dish. My friend ordered the scallop ceviche and that dish was also amazing. My main course was dexter beef. The beef was perfectly cooked and tender. The brussel sprouts came in a separate bowl with this delicious creamy sauce and bits of wagyu in it. I thought my friends cod tasted better though and I would get that next time. The only thing we did not like was the citrus desert. Made with fresh lemons, the tartness was a real shock to our tastebuds. The chocolate one was way better and paired perfectly with the milk sherbet. I would pass on the creamed potatoes as this was super heavy and nothing special. Overall, this was a great tasting menu despite the citrus desert. Service was impeccable and the food was presented beautifully. I can't wait to come back to try their dinner menu!

Ate here a while ago, and forgot to complete my review. It is a bit outdated, but still helpful to some I hope. The Greenhouse seems to be the "it" restaurant in Dublin at the moment. There has been much fanfare with the opening of the restaurant, and its chef, Mikael Viljanen. Although only opened for several months, many are anticipating a Michelin Star from The Greenhouse. Unfortunately, The Greenhouse did not get a Michelin start this year, but they are definitely headed in the right direction. Chef Viljanen is very creative and many of the dishes have a molecular gastronomy spin on them. The restaurant is extremely small, only 40 seats. Eating at The Greenhouse is more of an experience, so they won't rush you out the door trying to turn over tables. With all of the recent publicity, trying to get a reservation isn't easy at the last minute. It is suggested that reservations be made at least one week in advance. I was fortunate to get a lunch reservation. I had tried to walk-in the night before, but there were no openings and the kitchen was closing. We decided to eat at One Pico instead and the General Manager there, Andrew, called The Greenhouse to see if they could squeeze us in the following day. He was able to get a lunch reservation, and the General Manager, David O'Brien, from The Greenhouse even came over to One Pico to introduce himself and said he was looking forward to us eating there the following day. We ordered the Chef's Choice Five Course Tasting Menu. The meal started off with an amuse bouche of a maitake mushroom cream puff. A perfectly light and crunchy cream puff shell encasing, a rich earthy filling of mushrooms. The first course was foie gras, royale and frozen, green apple and candied nuts. This dish is a grab bag of flavors, textures and temperatures. Pairing the earthy and velvety foie gras with the tartness of green apples, and the sweet crunchiness of nuts will keep your taste buds dancing and wanting more. The second course was a Jerusalem artichoke veloute with truffle oil. The soup is silky smooth. The truffle oil adds some richness and earthiness to the dish. A very well balanced course. The third course was cod, smoked mussels and cauliflower puree with hazelnut oil. The cod was cooked to perfection. Still slightly translucent in the middle, the delicate flavor rose right to the top. The smoked mussels were tender and did not overpower the cod. The cauliflower puree added some earthiness to the dish. A great way to start the meal. The fourth course was venison, pumpkin puree, roasted shallots and bacon. The venison was a perfect medium rare. The roasted shallots added some sweetness to the dish. The pumpkin puree added some earthiness, while the bacon added some saltiness and a textural contrast. The meal ended with a dessert of chocolate, carmelized onions, with sorbet and a mousse like dish, and milk solid crisps. The dish just did not work for me. The sorbet and mousse was strange to have as a dessert and was rather tart. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the ingredient and lost my notes, but it is something that is usually associated with savory dishes rather than desserts. To me it did not pair well with the chocolate. The menu at The Greenhouse is very ambitious and creative, but certainly in the right hands with Chef Viljanen at the helm.

Complimentary of the chefs. Whatever it was all I can say is it was delicious... Lol

They do live up to their 5 stars. I was skeptical about eating here but I wanted to try something different. I never had Scandinavian food so I was a little scared to tell you the truth but this one was on point! The restaurant was really nice inside and the food was exquisite. And their red wine (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château La Nerthe 2010) was magnificent. Since we did a tasting menu, I don't remember any of the names to what we ordered. Although, I did take pictures of course so feel free to take a gander. Lol

Ranking: Wow! Was not expecting such an incredible culinary experience in Dublin. Prepare yourself for one of the best culinary experiences you'll ever have. Food: The food here went beyond cuisine and into the realm of art. Each course was beautifully displayed and laid out - take a look at my photos to see what I mean. These were not just pretty course for the sake of beauty though - they packed a punch in terms of flavor as well. I went for lunch and had the rhubarb juice, cheese plate, foie gras appetizer, 42 degree slow baked cod with prawns, anjou pigeon and apricot souffle. Each course was rich, flavorful, and commanded attention - our table became very quiet when each course came out and we are a talkative crew. The stand-out for me was the apricot souffle. It tasted like a cloud of apricot, white chocolate, and goodness had entered my mouth and filled my soul. I don't know if I will ever have a souffle quite like that again. Absolutely superb. Ambiance: Very reserved, business-like environment. Clean, crisp, minimalist lines to the dark blue and black furnishings and decor. Natural sun-light poured in onto the table. Felt a bit Japanese in the design - simple and elegant. Service: Attentive and knowledgeable. The waitstaff really knew the food, kept our glasses full, and the table clear. Some of the better service we had in Dublin, which as a city, has pretty deplorable service. Also, Agnes at the hostess stand is fantastic! My brother and I tried to dine there for dinner over the weekend, but they were full - she readily helped us make a lunch reservation for the following week, called us the day of to confirm, and directed us to their sister restaurant (One Pico - see my review for that also), which was another fantastic culinary experience. Thank you for being awesome, Agnes! Overall: Positively fantastic! Go here if you are in Dublin and want a wonderful dining experience!

Came here for a two course meal for lunch. Small tiny restaurant but it looked beautiful interiorly. Had their 3 course meal. Starting off with the poached egg ravioli and their cured salmon. My friend really liked her ravioli but I can't comment too much on it. The salon itself was really fresh and sweet, but definitely not the best I've tried. Amazing fried quail egg with a beautiful perfectly cooked with the egg yolk is runny in it. The mains were a cod with broccoli which was cooked perfectly. Pan seared on one side so it is crispy on one end. So you get both texture of crispiness and biting into the succulent cod fish. Unfortunately they ran out of the chicken that day and thus was offered venison instead. But it was such a blessing in disguise! The venison melts in your mouth with bursting flavours. The potato croquette at the side was also really fried really well. Crispy yet not tough and bites into the buttered potatoes which was seasoned well. Ended with a passion fruit soufflé topped with ginger and white chocolate sauce. Soufflé was perfectly raised. The passion fruit sorbet was really sour, but it balanced out with that spice of ginger and the sweetness of the white chocolate. I really love how chefs blends all the exotic flavours into your mouth to one beautiful rainbow. And also their cheesecake was probably just average. Slightly underwhelming but still a nice way to end off the meal. Really satisfied with the meal here and definitely will be back for more!

Beautiful restaurant situated in a busy area of Dublin. Interior was cozy and felt warm, like grandmas house. Waitstaff was OUTSTANDING! We ordered the wine pairing for an extra 75 EU and was worth every sip. The gent who orders there wine picks pairings on the fly but does a fantastic job. He is young and has a great story. Wish we could have met the chef (some Michelin star restaurants we've come to the chef will come to the table) but didn't take too much away. Worth the time, money, and atmosphere if you have it to spare while in Dublin.

Fabulous food fabulous service. Presentation of top quality. All the dishes made to perfection. We had 5 course surprise menu. Venison for the main stole the show - this was truly the best thing I have ever ate! Even the small piece of broccoli on the side was delicious! Experience I will not forget.

Starters of Foie gras with apple, smoked eel is the combination of proper added different layers' feeling, at the bottom of the goose liver sauce, very sensitive, apple ingredients joined and solved the monotony of the goose liver and fatty. The stewed beef, slow cooked, tender and satisfying. The combination of pickled vegetables and slow stewed beef is a great way to go, so there's the next dessert... Caramel chocolate mousse, which also has a rich layered feel, from the outside to the inside from the little bitter to the sweet, perfect! Finally, great service!

This scallop dish was so gorgeous it brought tears to my eyes.

The food here is undeniably 5 and I had one of the best meals of my life here for my birthday last week. I've docked a star as I thought they could have been more generous with the wine for the wine pairing - neither myself nor BF are guzzlers but found ourselves without wine a couple of times halfway through courses. Also, there was a mix up and we weren't offered the optional cheese course before dessert which I thought was poorly handled and showed up some internal tensions between some of the staff members which we would rather not have been privy to. Overall I'd definitely recommend and will be going back when our bank balance has recovered!

Passion fruit soufflé, really good twist, but got too sour and sweet by the time I was almost done.

I went for lunch, prices are extremely reasonable for them at this hour. Their starters were extremely good, I tried three different ones, all super good. The foie gras was the best. Then the main corse, well, I wasn't really a fan, I tried the cod, it was cooked at 42 degrees which meant that it was a bit raw, I wasn't a fan of that. The pigeon was served with its feet on the plate, so I asked them to remove the feet before they served it, and they just took off the entire legs and served me the plate with less than half the portion, the pigeon however was semi good. And the beef was the best. Finally, their desserts were good, the soufflé was my favorite I loved how they added a twist by giving it a passion fruit flavor, however by the end of eating it, it just got too sour and sweet, but I enjoyed it anyways. Bottom line, I'd defiantly go back again for a starter and dessert but not the main course.

Beautiful white tablecloth restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere. We had some killer dishes like the fois gras with apple and lamb. Some other dishes like the fish were just ok and a little disappointing. I felt that service could have been more personable, hence the 4 star rating.

We honestly just stumbled upon Harry's as we were starving but hadn't committed to anywhere as we were walking and just ensuring first we could find a restaurant close to where we'd be watching a show later that evening. Harry's wasn't busy on a Friday at 5pm so we thought why not? The interior is dark and cozy. They have an impressively large bar and plenty of seating outside or downstairs in the main dining & bar area. Service was fine. Our waiter seemed to be new but he took our order promptly and got us everything we needed quickly which was appreciated as we were on a time crunch. I wouldn't say the service was particularly special but efficient definitely. Harry's has some classic Irish meals but also just a large American multi-cultural comfort food menu. Embarrassed to say instead of some lovely stews or fish n chips, we eagerly ordered nachos and pasta lol. Sometimes you just need a taste of home even when on vacation. The nachos were average but hit the spot for that craving. I had the pasta Toscana which had a surprisingly good and creamy sauce which some chicken and bacon. I was surprised that it was a solid 3.5/5 knowing this isn't a classic or normal dish to order. Everything hit the spot and was filling. Great cocktail menu too. Really I feel like coming here for drinks and appetizers is the way to go. My cocktail was the Harry Spritz and it was fantastic. It's a little more laid back than the other pubs in the area, yet, a tad higher scale - *almost* on the swanky side of things. It's actually more of a specialty cocktail bar and restaurant. Plenty of comfy leather booths and chairs to lounge around in, so it was a lot more comfortable and less crowded than the surrounding pubs. It started getting busy and the music got loud around 11:30pm, but it was still fun, and the bartenders did a good job taking care of business and slinging those drinks, even though they were busy. My only gripe - they have a bathroom attendant - I hate that with a passion folks... I'm perfectly capable of turning the faucet on, getting my own soap and getting my own paper towels. I don't need this sort of interaction in the bathroom. I'm a grown up. Other than that, Harry's is a great place. I only wish we had time to have a meal there while we were in Dublin. Their menu looks interesting. Cheers!

"Table service of 10% is included with groups of 4+.." Oh, that's reallll clever.. Raaeeell bad man.. what if we're not satisfied? Well my friends.. this is where yelp comes in.. the customer is king in the world.. You! small businesses.. You will never be able to silence the disgruntled pedestrians.. I hearby call upon all mammals of Dublin City and visiting beasts of Limerick, do not accept the surcharge! Also, ask for water when you walk in, all the free sauces and all the kings men - I'm gonna shit up the walls in your restroom again.. and fill my bags with complimentary toilet paper! Maybe even a lucozade bottle of soap while I'm there.. Today, a valuable lesson was learned.. Small businesses are ready for you when you walk in the door, like lambs walking into a slaughterhouse.. how didn't we see it coming.. we all know the landlords have em all by the balls, so they gotta pass it on to us and squeeze you, we're at the bottom of a pile of sweaty men, and when it's lunch time, it's crunch time.. but now.. I'm pissing upstream.. Next stop is Bah33 for my wife's birthday.. all you can eat.. mother fcukers.. I'm coming for you.. I'm gonna eat the day before to stretch my stomach, then eat nothing on the day, just hit the park beforehand for a run and a doobskin. Is there a limit on how much tap water they'll allow you? Cos I'm filling up a 5L.. custom briefs to keep tight you take aways around your saucey ghoulies.. the revolution is here and will be televised! The revolution starts neigh! Speak out and cream out! I won't stop until all small businesses are shut and we're all cooking Nigella and ordering bulk meat on the Internet! Why eat out for 30 bills when you can spend that on poteen and kill your own venison in Phoenix Park! I'm telling ye, there's some quare things in Dublin- Between Howth and Crumlin, down in ringsend there's a 3 legged cat.

I'm happy we didn't because we really enjoyed the atmosphere. I know an American going to a new American restaurant in Ireland is a little bit weird maybe not, but the music they were playing was pretty good. It was very old-school Americano kind of style. Nothing like it is today. So if you want to get the nostalgia of a little bit of America of what it used to be definitely come on in and check it out. We were greeted by the bartender look like he was the only one taking care of everybody. Came up and told us the special and the special that we chose was the fish and chips. This place is really great because not only do you get the fish and chips at a great deal you get a pint of beer included! I believe it came out to be about €20 but that has been the best deal that I could get the whole time I was in Ireland! My partner ordered a tonic and asked for some lime and was provided was a big bottle of lime juice. Check out the photo. The fish came out with two pieces. They were perfectly flaky, and the french fries were actually pretty crispy, unlike some places we visited in Ireland the french fries were really floppy and were baked rather than deep-fried. There are different specials on the lunch menu and I believe that the lunch menu goes until 5 PM. So if you're looking for a little bit of nostalgia and a great deal, check this place out while you're walking through the streets.

It is located in the same Temple Bar neighborhood. And why everywhere 'The Cranberries' was getting played.. hahah.. This place has a proper dining scene upstairs. I was here just for a couple of pints, music, that's all. Amazing atmosphere, live music, quick service at the bar... spacious but hey, you never know when someone's gonna spill his/her beer on you
