Bread & olives
Angela M.

Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff. We stopped here twice during our visit - one late night just for dessert, then a quick lunch. The crème brûlée was divine. The French Onion soup was the best we've ever had - since returning home, I've had to try and replicate it - So Good! Tell 'Skinny' Hello from Alabama!

This was probably my favorite meal of our entire trip. It was a nice break from the pub food. The halibut was AMAZING!

Everything was awesome. The best roasted beef ever. Great service, great ambiance. Might have been the best lunch I have had in a decade.

Scallops on the shell

A small authentic French restaurant. I've been here twice, the food is truly amazing. The menu is not large, but everything that I tried was so delicious. Their crème brûlée is the best - tender, creamy and flavorful.

Foie gras amazing

I was hoping for a five stars, unfortunately my Coq au Vin was overcooked and dry. i have tried the fresh foie gras as well which was amazing, cooked to perfection and served on a crispy pastry, garnished with pomegranate. I let the chef pair wines with the two dishes and overall a great meal experience. This place is also close to Temple bar so if you are in the area and in a mood for French food I am recommending this place.

Frogs legs

I guess French food just isn't for me. When I saw an amazing online deal for this place, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to give it a whirl. My friends had raved about the påté and the atmosphere, so naturally I was excited to try this place. I booked via email confirming I had a voucher, etc. 24hrs later, I had not had a response, so I called. The gentleman on the phone was absolutely wonderful. He sorted it all out for us and we were booked in for a Saturday night. When we arrived, I wasn't sure we had found the right place as the entrance was covered by a red curtain. We walked through and felt uncomfortable walking through other patrons enjoying their meal. We finally made our way into the main building and were greeted and seated. I do not like the atmosphere here. It's a small restaurant, quite crowded and very loud. There were six people sitting at a table near us who were clearly having a good time, but everyone else had to know about it. Halfway through our meal they decided to have a karaoke session. I went out with my husband to enjoy some good food and some good chats. I had neither. To start I decided to have the påté and my husband went for the ever French frogs legs. am generally a lover of påté so I was super excited for this!. I expected a lot more to be honest. Some of the påté was extremely dry and it was served with some general toasted bread. I guess it just didn't really feel French. My husband's dish looked great, but was very bland. The sauce the legs were cooked in was lovely, but the meat itself had little flavour. We clung on to the hope that our mains would live up to the fantastic reviews I had read. By this time I had run out of water (The joys of being the driver!) and I was never approached by any member of staff asking if I needed a refill, despite seeing multiple other tables being attended to. Our mains arrived and things were looking up. Being a huge fan of anything mushroom, I had to have the wild mushroom risotto, while husband had Moroccan chicken. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his, while I was left again disappointed. Bland. Flavourless. In fact, the rocket on top of my risotto was the best part. I was so bitterly disappointed, I did not even want to stay for dessert. We quickly asked for the cheque. Upon arrival, I was advised I could not use my voucher for a Saturday night despite being told otherwise on the phone. However, the host quickly sorted this out for me. All two stars of this review are actually based on how lovely this gentleman was throughout our brief evening. Maybe I ordered the wrong things? Maybe it was just a bad night. Either way, food and atmosphere did not live up to expectations and I doubt I will be returning any time soon.

Coq au Vin, Braised Chicken in a Wine Stew, Bacon and Mushrooms. Delicious!
Kimberly B.

I ordered Coq au Vin, Braised Chicken in a Wine Stew, Bacon and Mushrooms. It's served separately with mash-potatoes & asparagus. By far the best dish I have eaten so far in Ireland. It takes about 30 minutes because of baking the pastry around the pot. Enough for 2. Make sure to check in to receive complimentary Prosecco. Save room for a dessert. The server will bring over a tray of beautiful sweets. If your not to hungry, don't worry. You will receive a cutting tray with both dark & white chocolate to cut to your liking. Bon appetite!

Cassoulet with duck , pork belly and sausages
Ellen S.

At first we were slightly disappointed as the early bird menu (22/26 euro) was different than shown on the website, and none of the starters took our fancy. So we just opted for a main and dessert, and in hindsight I was glad I didn't go for three courses as I was in foodcoma afterwards, portions were massive! And we got a bread basket with a sort of pesto to start on the house to keep us happy. The duck cassoulet was just divine, full with big chunks of sausages and porkbelly, lots of beans and a rich tomato sauce. The mash on the side was so smooth and buttery I could almost drink it with a straw. Yum! My rhubarb nut crumble was light and not overly sweet. I was in food heaven. They served some complentary pieces of dark and white chocolate afterwards, which was a nice touch! The staff were effecient and we were in no way rushed. While we were there we decided we will definitely return soon.

I booked a table for five on Saturday night at 8.30, I was really looking forward to a fun evening with friends, and terrific food. I have always enjoyed dining at La Maison. But an email confirmed my booking and said we would be required to vacate the table by 22.30, a two hour window! I do not enjoy being rushed, or feeling under pressure to return a table. This practice is very unreasonable. I have cancelled my booking. Update - Olivier emailed me to let me know that the table would be available for as long as we wanted it, but I have made other arrangements. I will be back, it is a lovely restaurant, and the food is excellent.

The absolute best meal we had during our stay in Dublin in July/Aug 2025…read more After stopping in another restaurant nearby that a local recommended and receiving the worst seats and attitude, we decided to leave without placing an order and find something else because no way.. life is too short. We walked around the corner, I saw Pichet and immediately remembered it from my trip research. I was visiting Ireland with my mother who is not an adventurous eater, so I looked at the menu online - found a lovely pasta dish that she would enjoy and she agreed to go. Turned out to be a great decision and a very memorable meal in every way. Service was wonderful... attentive, charming, and funny. Wine was perfection. And the meal was outstanding. My mom had the Knockanore cheese agnolotti with girolles, baby courgette, lovage and hazelnut pesto, and I had harissa spiced local lamb shoulder with tomato cumin puree, smoked yoghurt, roasted gnocchi, courgette and basil. We also shared two desserts, an Île Flottante with creme anglaise, Irish strawberry, strawberry prosecco sorbet, and an almond and black sesame tuile as well as the tropical themed and highly recommended coconut parfait with rum roasted pineapple, passion fruit gel, and coconut sorbet. Perfection. We chatted with a lovely local lady next to us for a bit and then two delightful & vivacious young women who arrived shortly after. One from Italy and one from Mexico. This is part of why I love travel. I recommend making reservations or arrive on the early side if you want to try your luck without one. We were able to get a seat in the bar/lounge area early as a walk in. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10000/10000 would go again.

It came with an appetizer main and dessert. I forgot what appetizer I got, but my main was veal and dessert was carrot cake. I don't remember what my appetizer was but it was tasty. My bf got the smoked salmon with dill sauce which I remember because it was different. The veal was amazing. Cooked perfection. Carrot cake was more bread like than i expected. Definitely not like the American cream cheese frosting carrot cake however still delicious. The meal was amazing and something I look forward to again!

Outside was as mess, there were no chairs at some tables and other had to many with dirty dishes on them. So we decided to go in. There was no hostess nor any wait staff so we stood there like stooges. Finally ,two of the wait staff walked right by and just ignored us so we decided to take a seat. Now they want to come talk to us! I asked if this seat was ok and got the reply "I guess it will have to be as you already sat down". Should have got up then but the wife was tired so decided to stay. It was crazy warm in there with little air flow. I liked the atmosphere and ambience. Guess they wanted to make a point as we sat there for 15 mins without water or anybody coming by. Had to flag down what appeared to be a bus boy to get water. Finally had order taken by male bus boy who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else and said "I am waiting". We ordered two "specials" and the bœuf bourguignon. Two separate couples came in and were served before we received our food. So hard to eat as it was 80-85 degrees in there. The beef was good and would recommend. The two specials were chicken and very very dry. To wrap it up we had to hunt down the wait staff to get the ticket as they actively avoided eye contact. Fairly expensive for just ok food and horrible service. Customer service is not hard. A "Welcome" or "Glad you came in" goes a long way.

We were seated at 7:05 and were not waited on until 7:30, drinks did not arrive until 7:40, first course came out well past 8:00pm. The table next to us had to specifically request that waiters actually describe the plates they were serving, to which they responded by bringing out the menu so they could read the description of the dish?? My wife tried to order a dirty martini but alas no olives in the whole restaurant which seems kind of crazy when you have a full bar. Food was aesthetically pleasing while lacking in almost every other department, particularly the smoked tuna starter and the turbot. Some might even go so far as to call it borderline unseasoned.

Shame there is so little for vegetarians and both dishes on the menu were pasta dishes. Having been to many restaurants in France you notice the huge change in menus and choices for vegetarians. You have to order all the courses up front. The wine list and cocktail list is also quite extensive albeit a bit pricey. It is quite a cosy space with nice seats and ironed white table cloths. Staff are very welcoming and efficient but not very engaging. Missing the Irish friendly touch in the service. Food is quite nice here, nothing spectacular. Food lacked a bit of seasoning but the flavors were good. I absolutely loved my soufflé for dessert and the steak was cooked to perfection. The black truffle with the entree and main was not very intense or flavorful. Overall a nice meal and I would come back here again.
