This was a very unexpected surprise ! The food blew us away, every dish we had made us want to try more. The risotto was better than any Michelin star restaurant that I have been to, even in Italy . The rib eye steak was perfectly cooked and tasted like it just came off the field, it blew me way ! To the point that we will be flying back to Ireland just to eat here. The deserts where also above and beyond any I have had in a long time . I didn't want to share ! Love this place !!

Find out the quickest route to Maynooth and make the journey to Bistro 53, its a little place at the end of the Main St and ill be honest, it was the value of the lunch menu that caught my eye as I strolled through the town. 11.95 for two courses??!!....Who could turn that down? The sun was shining and i took advantage of one of the tables outside ,as i sat down, I immediately noticed the black serviette soaked in water and carefully and tastefully placed in the ash tray . When you see little touches like that, one looks forward to the next. No sooner had we been welcomed and sat down by our waiter, two mint infused chilled glasses of water were placed in front of us by another staff member, such fluidity by the staff was ever present throughout the lunch. The dishes ordered for the table were the Caprese Salad, Chicken Wings and Fettuccine with Chicken and Wild Mushroom sauce. The Caprese salad was beautifully presented and the simple flavours of the dish each stood out. Chicken wings can often be over complicated, under seasoned or over dressed, these were perfect, char-grilled i believe and full wings aswell, the spice slowly enveloped your mouth with the perfect balance of heat, an outstanding example of how wings showed be done. The arrival of the main course was perfectly timed , a deep dished pasta bowl filled with Fettuccine, Grilled Chicken, a Wild Mushroom sauce and finished with fresh parsley. You could pay 15.00 on South William St for this dish alone or make a day out of it in Maynooth for half the price. I look forward to trying the dinner menu, I've a feeling i wont be let down... .

Food was amazing! Grilled seafood platter, yum!! A bit pricey but you leave happy and satisfied. The staff is also very friendly and immersed in providing a great experience. Could have stayed all night.

A very nice place to eat and relax. The atmosphere is cozy and the owners and wait staff are very friendly. As for the food, everything I have had has been very good ... and for dessert, be sure to try to homemade tiramisu...

Michelangelo Restaurant - Veal Pizzaiola

Michelangelo Restaurant

Had a quick dinner here after a walk in the nearby Castletown Park. Family-vibe restaurant with a…read moremenu consisting of Italian dishes and a variety of Irish beef steaks. Both the owner and the waitress were friendly and attentive. Went straight to entree and ordered the veal Pizzaiola, a sauce consisting of tomatoes, chopped garlic, and oregano. It also came with vegetables (broccoli and cauliflower) and potatoes (ordered grilled garlic potatoes). Regrettably the veal was too dry even for two thin pieces, the texture tasted a bit like jerky. However, the pizza sauce was well made, packed with garlic and oregano flavor, and had rich, buttery, refreshing tomato dices. Could stomach the veal with the sauce. The vegetables were nicely done, especially the cauliflower temperature was spot-on. The potatoes were even better, skin fried to a crisp while the texture remained creamy. Also had a combo of three flavors of ice cream for dessert. The flavor overall was good, not overly sweet. Overall: 3-3.5 stars. Had to say the star of the dish, the veal, was disappointing. Surprisingly the sauce, the veggies, and the potatoes were great, and the ice cream was fine.

The server, manager, and owner were all attentive and encouraged us to take our time. They also thanked us for coming in on such a gloomy night. Our table was next to one of the windows. There was a lit candle on our table and fresh flowers on the windowsill, which made for a cozy feel as we watched the rain pouring outside. I ordered the carbonara with cream. It was delicious, but I liked my sister's pasta primavera better for its flavor. This is a lovely spot for date night or treating visiting friends.
