TDLR; Paid $21.87 for $7.25 beef lo mein and you must be part bird to dine here. If you are worried about allergens, religious limitations or sensitivities please think twice. I ordered the chicken wing and rice combo (specifically asked for only onion no pork or peas and carrots) as well as the beef lo mein. Unfortunately I wasn't able to fully try the combo, as once I got home/bnb my partner and I started to dig in only to realize there was pork in the rice. After coming to our senses we walk back to the restaurant with the chicken and rice. I explain to the woman what occurred and reminded her of my original order. She was understanding had a light bulb moment and returned to the back. Once the order was complete I checked the order at the counter only to see they made new rice but just returned the "cross contaminated" chicken back into the same order. I tried to explain to the gentleman how this is still an issue. He simply stated if I wanted the chicken to also be re made I would have to return the FULL order back. That's a totally understandable policy to stop people from returning food after they've already eaten a large portion. But unfortunately this policy just didn't apply to my case and the restaurant simply didn't care to correct their error and took the money. So basically I walked back home and accepted defeat. I was not walking back for a 3rd time with partially eaten chicken and bones to have the order that I paid for. The owners must think they run a 5 star Gordon Ramsey level establishment where their food is worth my time. I added photos of the wings we had eaten then tossed once we realized there was pork in the meal. I'm assuming they wanted the bones and bitten wings as proof that we definitely ate the wrong order? But they refused to remake the wings we definitely didn't eat and returned, unless we presented the contaminated ones. Came here because we wanted Mexican but the two Mexican restaurants near us were BOTH closed. Driving around on a hot Sunday, we stumbled upon this place. Ordered at the counter by the menu overhead, then decided to eat there. Four tables but all needed cleaning. The counter woman made herself available and cleaned the table. The order was quickly done and was delicious and full of flavor! We had the large size of Happy Meal with shrimp, chicken veggies with broccoli & more, ALL very tasty, plus we had ordered the dumplings; also very tasty! Food was hot but not much flavor. I felt like the peas in the fried rice were canned since they were so dull. The general tso sauce was thin and the chicken wasn't very crispy. Eggrolls were better cold and needed some spice because they just tasted like cabbage. read more

Have been craving American-Chinese food for so long. My usual spot closed about a month and a half ago. This place popped up on DoorDash today and I liked the menu and the prices. Food was so well prepared and still hot after making the trek from the Falls to Tonawanda. I ordered fried dumplings, pork lo mein, sesame chicken, and sweet and sour pork for the family. The dumplings weren't anything special. I'm not a fan of thin wrappers that everyone outside of my normal place uses. The sesame chicken was crispy and sweet. Didn't expect spice as I've never had it prepared that was but it was still very delicious. Everyone enjoyed the sweet and sour pork. The egg roll was way over cooked. But what I'm so excited about was the lo mein. Probably the best I've ever had. The noodles were thick and full. The sauce was a good mixture of salty and sweet. Maybe next time I'd just get veggie bc the pork was so much it was hard to finish. read more

I really want to give less stars, but would love to give this place 5 stars. I really would. Their Chinese food is by far the best in the area, I love it. However, I cannot and will not ever order takeout or delivery from here again, because the last time I got takeout, a female cockroach escaped the bag and laid an egg in my kitchen. By the time I killed it, she had already laid her egg in my spice rack. It was the worst experience, and right before thanksgiving, I had to empty my cupboards and somehow explain to my guests that I was just "cleaning them out". I think I ended up with some 30 babies before we got them all out. It was a nightmare. I'll probably still get their food because it's so good, just won't bring it into my home unless I went through the whole bag first outside. read more

I've been coming to this place for years and once in awhile they mess up my order. As tonight they messed it up and I called them back letting them know, a guy gets on the phone and starts telling me that he is afraid of when I come in because he knows they mess up my order and he's going to give me a credit but told me to never come back to his restaurant so he doesn't have to worry about messing up my order again....such rude customer service, have your people double check your customers order to make sure they took the orders correctly. read more

My mom and I used to go to Great Wall when I was a child. This is the restaurant that got me to love Chinese food! I've stopped regularly ordering from them for about 8 years since I moved to buffalo but would randomly order when I was in the area. I've noticed their food was on a slight decline as far as quality but NOTHING like tonight..When I walked in, the decor was actually still the same from when I was a kid.. same painting on the wall (which doesn't look good anymore because it's faded and stained and looks as though kids have drawn on it) , same gross ceiling with water stains and clumps of dust, same decor behind the counter... they haven't put ANY love or care into that place AT ALL! Tonight we ordered the pupu platter which was not good at all! The cream cheese from the crab Rangoon seemed to be spoiled, we ordered the crispy orange beef and the batter was so raw it was not edible, we were missing an egg roll and missing our pint of boneless spare ribs. I paid $40 for this food!!! I live in buffalo so it's not like I could have easily turned around and fixed my order in the restaurant. I will never order from here again and it makes me sad. It was more expensive than where we normally go but we wanted to try something different. We ordered a lot of food that will end up going in the trash because everything was just bland and worse than microwavable food. Not a single spice could have been used in the preparation of any of the several items we ordered. Vegetables were cut in huge chunks and barely cooked. Wanted Chinese food and found on Yelp they delivered. First the individual who delivered cake to the door fully protected with mask and gloves which I appreciated. The food was wonderful. I thought that this Chinese food was the best that I have had in a long while. I do not live in the area but my friend does. We thought that this was the perfect meal to enjoy after a drunken night. We ordered several items from the menu and I found that the cashew chicken is the best I have had anywhere! The general tsos and sweet and sour chicken were very average. I was a little disappointed that the lunch special did not come with soup or an egg roll. It is a little more pricy then other places of its kind. It could be because it is so close to the Niagara Falls outlet mall. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to grab and go. read more

I never do reviews but felt I had to after the order we made last night. We ordered the chicken with broccoli and shrimp with mixed vegetables along with fried rice. We expected four containers. Two rectangular containers with the main courses and two of the boxed containers with the rice orders. Instead we just got two rectangular containers each filled two thirds with rice and a third with the chicken and broccoli and shrimp with vegetables. Great Wall is a pretty decent storefront Chinese restaurant. It is something of a fixture in this area of the Falls known as Lasalle. It runs a steady business, and the staff are nice and polite. But I go here for the food, and it definitely fits the bill. There is another Chinese downtown that has won a prestigious national "Top 100" award, but I have yet to visit there. We were tired after a long drive to the falls and were looking for something basic that would hit a spot. These guys certainly delivered. We had some broccoli in garlic sauce and some szechuan bean curd and it was as good as anything you'd get at a top notch restaurant and the serving size was very generous as well. The garlic sauce had just a hint of sweet and sour. I'd definitely recommend this for folks looking for a good meal. If you're looking for ambience, this is not for you.
