The most delicious n pungent cheese; John Vulto's Miranda won me over. $10 here but $16-$20 elsewhere. Wish I got 10 wheels.

In my dream i was greeted immediately by the cheese king and homie welcomed me into his kingdom built out of billions and bajillions of cheese cubes and creamy wheels of brie. Caitlyn Jenner did not exist in this land. Wine filled rivers carried me on a raft made out of graham crackers and hipsters to each cheese laden village and it was heaven. First to Bovina's then stopping at Vulto's Creamery and on and on, then I woke up. Shit no! Put me back! For real Biggie, was it really all a dream? Well, I found out as I was catapulted into reality. Thus realizing I was at a cheese festival in Queens and it wasn't all a dream! *insert pop up ad. Snap! With a bend in the knee, I shouted drunk with glee, all hail the cheese king! Let's continue yelping!

"A cheese may disappoint. It may be dull, it may be naive, it may be over-sophisticated. Yet it remains cheese, milk's leap toward immortality." - Clifton Fadiman. Last night's event was a revelation! Finding great cheeses will be my next gustatory quest. This was my first time sampling raw milk cheese (goat & cow) and I was totally blown away! There was so much depth of flavor in all that I sampled, I was transported to both farm and barn by the rich smells and the funky barnyard flavors. Visually stunning, was the aged Alderney, with it's basket weave ( thanks to the videographer who provided the lighting for my great Iphone shot). The offerings from Vulto were excellent, the Miranda, raw cow's milk was as they described , 3 S's - smooth silky and savory. Their Ouleout piquant and pungent. My favorites of the evening were the offerings from Consider Bardwell in Vermont, and I can't wait to enjoy my purchases. I fell in love with their Manchester, an aged, raw goat peasant tomme. Lisa E. fell for the Experience,a creamy stout washed pasteurized cows milk cheese. Left in the car for a few hours while we dined in Bayside made for quite an aromatic ride home! Other great offerings were the goat cheese smores ( goat cheese on artisan cracker with shaved dark chocolate), who knew that would work so well, someone's a genius! There was also something amazing Lisa E. brought me, I believe it was mashed potato crack, but is properly called Pommes Aligot. Sorry I didn't have the patience to watch it being prepared. Finback IPA was a nice paring with the funky cheeses. I begrudgingly subtracted one star, for combined reasons. The layout and amount of people made it uncomfortable to talk with the artisans about their process and products, as hordes of people were jostling and breathing down my neck trying to grab a bite. I also had dashed hopes when I learned that there was no raclette, after so many positive mentions last year. Also, I could not get any where near the ciders that were being poured in the far corner of the downstairs room. Laugh of the night...... the guy that kept his hand out asking for "more more more..... you know, for my friends" Side note - I hope everyone took in the architecture, the jazz photos and the great Louis Armstrong collages in the hallways!

Minimum weight to buy is 1/4 lb. Card is accepted on purchases over $15 Staff were very kind and patient in explaining the cheeses and letting us sample some before choosing. Walked out with the cheese I wanted and another one that interested me when sampling. Interior is a bit smaller, but stock full of items. Cheeses, cold meats, crackers and other shelf items available. Will definitely revisit, great array of specialty cheeses to choose from, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good vibes all around

It's one of those cheese shops where you'll smell the cheese before you see it- that wafting smell is indeed incredible haha. There is a very generous selection of cheeses here & I'm sure anyone can find a cheese that they like (& if you don't like cheese, whyyyy)! The employee & I believe owner Abraham was amazing & super attentive & patient with my indecisiveness. I chose a variety of cheeses to take home with my favorite easily being the 3 year aged comté. All in all, albeit this cheese shop is a bit secluded it's worth the visit!

I like their sandwiches, but the bread is where it needs a huge upgrade. My most recent purchase was the Bon Jour, which had delicious thinly sliced ham, brie cheese, artichoke, and dijon mustard. However, for a sandwich named after the French, the bread is not befitting. If they can fix that problem, their rating would easily be 4 stars.

Entering the store, which is a long and a narrow yet fairly sun-lit location, the two employees seem flabbergasted. We placed an order online and I'm not sure if it's because it's the beginning of lunch time but they seemed disorganized. Then we finally got our sandwich and I said we'll eat right at the few spots by the window. Incredibly convenient. Asked if they could cut it in half since we wanted to try it fresh on the spot. One guy was friendly, the other was lukewarm. I had to explain, it's our first time ordering so will understand to clarify instructions in the online order to have it cut in half in the future. Besides the customer interaction, the sandwich is pretty good. Great crunch in the bread, ingredients are just enough (not like Stacked but good enough to fill you up). It's certainly a great option for sandwiches with fresh ingredients. Probably better to order online than in person as they can be busy just making sandwiches and not be able to tend to in-person interactions as quickly.

This spot is byob so we were able to bring our new favorite Pinot noir, which paired amazingly with the drunken goat Reserva cheese, the vegan cashew sharp pimento cheese, and the sheep's milk secret de compostelle cheese. Jacob at the cheese counter was more than helpful, answering all of our many questions and going out of his way to help us make our own spread. He let us sample everything we asked about and offered to cut up an apple and baguette for us to enjoy with our cheese selections. He really made the experience special for us with his effort and kindness! We grabbed a bag of candy grapes and crackers they had for sale and got to munching on the cheese. I have to say, it was one of the best cheese experiences we've ever had. There was a vinyl DJ setting the vibes and the dining area felt elegant and clean. If you are a looking for a fun shopping experience or to try some high quality cheeses, The Wheelhouse is the place to be!

It was truly one of the best sandwiches that I have ever eaten. It was very flavorful the bread was perfectly toasted, and it was sufficiently filling. I also got honey butter, which I have used on my toast in the morning for breakfast, the honey butter is truly very, very good and have gone back to buy more. This place has so many great options in terms of sandwiches and cheeses a very niche place which gives a bit of a different experience than other for example, sandwich shops. The only slight negative was that my sandwich was $16 a bit pricey but not enough to knock it down from the five stars it deserves.
