I finally decided to check them out and was literally blown away with their selection of waffles and toppings. After having a terrible experience with the Wafels & Dinges Cafe on Avenue B, I visited this truck with a friend last Sunday afternoon. I see the truck definitely built some popularity. There were about seven people in front of me on line waiting to order. The wait wasn't bad. It took us about ten minutes to order. My friend ordered the pulled pork waffle. I ordered the Brussels waffle with Dulce De Leche, whipped cream, bananas and walnuts ($8). I also ordered the Belgian hot cocoa in a large ($4). It's like heaven in a cup. Who doesn't love creamy dark chocolate in a cup? The best hot chocolate I've had. It's better than Starbucks and Swiss Miss hot chocolate. I will admit, I was excited about this one! I had heard so much hype about Wafels and Dinges that i was happy to finally try it. Unfortunately that happiness faded fast. I walked over to the food truck, only one other customer at the time, so happy with that. I asked for the "most popular", since this is my 1st time. The woman in the truck said the WMD, so i excitedly said i want it. It took a long time to get it together, but finally it was ready. While waiting i asked whats good to drink, she said the Hot Belgium cocoa. So lets start with the waffle. Unfortunately it was almost cold. The fruit was fresh, but as a whole it was ok at best. The hot cocoa was another disappointment. It was windy and cold in Queens today, a hot drink would have been nice. The drink was luke warm and ridiculously sweet! Uuuggghhh!!!! Took three sips and had to throw it out, what ashamed because it was 4 bucks for a small cup! It's a good waffle but it's pretty expensive. We ordered the WMD (Waffle of Massive Deliciousness) with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. The waffle was a bit hard on the outside but crunchy enough. Whipped cream, strawberries, waffle and all was pretty delicious bite after bite. Devoured in less than a minute! The packaging is a bit tricky to deal with because it leaks through the corners which sucks. I think it's delicious but still pricey for a waffle. read more

I haven't tried their more decadent topping options, like chili, pulled pork, or bacon, but the baseline stuff like spekuloos, Nutella, and fresh fruit are all solid choices. service is always friendly and with a smile, and you usually get your order pretty quick. I highly suggest grabbing a wafel then walking a block to eat in Station Square (the courtyard for the LIRR). or stand there and demolish it in 23 seconds, which I am more inclined to do. it's fairly cheap, and it's a refreshing change of pace from the other dessert options in the immediate area. it's great to see Forest Hills' Sunday scene is really picking up, with the W&D truck and the highly popular farmers' market adding to the Austin Street dining/shopping scene. long live the (Belgian) king! read more

It was outrageously good and incredibly sweet. From what I was told, these guys are only here on Continental Ave on Sunday's. They're located right in front of Duane Reade and the newly opened Buffalo Wild Wings. The service here is great. The guy who took our order was nice and friendly. A food truck used to signify only Mr. Softee to me. During the summer, Mr. Softee would play blaring music and you knew when the ice cream truck was on your block. I am glad the world of food on trucks has metamorphosed to mean so much more. Wafels & Dinges is a waffle food truck that has some really amazing eats. I first tried them when they were stationed with among 15 other food trucks in South Street Seaport for the Parked weekend. I was hesitant to try them because I didn't know how to pronounce dinges (pronounce as ding-us) but soon the smell and the customers walking and eating their waffles enticed me and all embarrassment was forgotten. The folks at this food truck were very understanding. Some of them wear t-shirts that have the word Dinges and its definition printed on it. Dinges really means "thing'. For the food truck, the dinges (thing) is all the toppings for the waffles. The first dinges is free, additional dinges are $1 and the WMD dinges is $2. The WMD stands for wafels of massive deliciousness and means unlimited dinges. I had the Brussels wafel with the unlimited dinges (WMD) for $2. I had the dulce de leche spread topped off with whipped cream, strawberries and some Belgian chocolate. Oh hurt me! They were amazing then, and they haven't changed as one of their food trucks is parked in Forest Hills every Sunday. Every time I see them, my mouth instantly waters. I had de Throwdown wafel for $6. It had spekuloos spread and whipped cream on top. The spekuloos spread tastes like a spice cookie or gingerbread cookie that's been caramelized. This spread is absolutely delish! I want to just stick my head in the speculoos jar and lick it clean if you just let me in the truck. I've also tried the liege wafel before. It is chewier than the Brussels waffle and is so good you don't even need to add anything to it. For those who like savory, they have a savory selection of waffles. I see that they have a pulled pork waffle, bacon and maple syrup wafel and a chili con carne wafel. I have not tried the savory items, but can say the sweet waffles are absolutely divine. They also have spoons, forks, napkins and others items tucked into the little drawers underneath the truck counter. Don't forget to get your utensils and napkins! My only gripe is waffle size for the price. Gimme more waffle to fill my belly! read more

My partner bought me De Throwdown wafle famous for beating Bobby Flay. the waffle yes it was nice and hot but it was also undercooked. The caramel sauce was still grainy from the sugsr not melted all the way or they just added more sugar to make more of it without cooking it properly. The best part was the whipped cream and I dont think is made fresh. it was overpriced for very simple ingredients. they were rude and they were more concern about taking their tip money than to get the orders out. $5 freaking bucks for an ice cream cone.... 1 scoop.... the cone looked store bought. No thank you for the tip. ALSO which annoyed me, the dude serving the food touched money with the gloves, didnt change his gloves and started handling food again. Thats a big NO NO in the food industry. This lady placed an order and everyone was getting served but her. I think I just ate the most perfect waffle ever created! It was warm, chewy, with a little crunch on the edge and topped with chocolate. If it hadn't been freezing cold outside I would've walked right back to that food truck and ordered another...the 1st one was gone before I reached the subway (which is at the end of the block). After dinner, my friend really wanted something yummy for dessert. She found this food truck on her phone and I have to hand it to the food trucks in new york, I like that they are consistently in the area they say they are supposed to be in. Because in LA, food trucks are never in the same location twice and that is one of the few times Yelp will lie to you lol. Anyway, on to the waffles! I got the brussels waffle which was HUGE (that's what she said? eh? eh?) It was a little bit on the thinner side but still so delicious. The brussels waffle was a bit less sweet than the liege waffle that my friend got (it was also a little thicker... if that's how you like it. I know, I'll stop, I promise). I topped mine with nutella and strawberry. SO GOOD. Though I wish I had seen the ice cream a bit sooner. That sounds amazing. The waffle I got was freshly made so it was super warm and fresh and just the right amount of chewiness! It was amazing. My only complaints would be that it is a bit pricey for a waffle with nutella on it (for a brussels or liege waffle with one topping, it's $6). Though you do get quite a lot of waffle I suppose. Also, it did take a little while for us to get our food but that's only because it was fresh baked so I can't ding them for that. All in all, great experience. Would get it again! :) read more

I used to always go to the halal truck, because waffles is just not something I used to get excited about.. but one day we had some friends over, and decided to try this for breakfast, and I have been in love with it ever since. Ive always taken the waffles with something sweet - so the spekulos spread or WMD or fruit, and it always is fantastic. She said it was undercooked and their famous carmel spread was still grainy. I was not hungry in the least but when I saw the truck in Queens!! I could not resist having a sweet wafel. There are so many oddball things to choose with your wafel like pulled pork to all kinds of fruit and whipped cream with ice cream. You can usually find this truck in the Manhattan but I got real lucky finding the truck near where I parked my car in Forest Hills. The prices are really not bad at all and the people that work the truck are friendly. It's one of those things where you at least have to try it at least once but for me it's more like once a week! read more

Typical Wafels and Dinges truck located right off of 25 in Forest Hills near the LIRR overpass. They have your standard menu but this one was a bit slower especially when there was only 2 people ahead of me. I do prefer this location if I'm craving it and don't want to go into Manhattan. I ordered the liege waffle, (because they were out of brussels?) with dulce de leche and whipped cream. Let me tell you, these toppings are SUPER sweet. Really really sweet together. I did enjoy the first few bites. However, I couldn't finish it because it was so sweet. The waffle is filling so I guess its reasonably priced? I don't think I've ever had a bad Wafels and Dinges experience. I first tried their waffles at the Quidditch World Cup on Randall's Island in 2012, and I've loved them ever since. I usually head to the truck on Kissena Blvd., in Lincoln Square, or the Forest Hills truck. I usually get a wafelini with fudge whipped and if I'm in the mood I'll go for ice cream. Being a local resident I've seen this truck parked on 71 street on Sundays and was curious, but the cost seemed a bit high for a single waffle. Yesterday I was out for my morning coffee and walk and decided why not break from the routine of a bagel from gotta getta across the street. I don't know if there are enough superlatives to describe just how insanely delicious these things are. Who would have guessed waffles could be so damn tasty. 8 bucks got me a box of heaven, inside a warm freshly prepared light, crisp and chewy goodness topped with just about anything you want, even pulled pork.
