The ladies helping out there were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and seemed to know everyone who came through the door. At first, there were no issues with seating; they have inside and outside seating on an attached patio. Once two o'clock rolled around, they had a live performer, and the place filled up. The music was good, and so was the wine; it was definitely worth a stop.

There is usually music and a food truck if you check their events calendar. Even if they don't have things going on, it is still a great place to sit back and relax in an Adirondack overlooking the water. There is a cute tire swing and plenty of grass area for kiddos to run around and play. I always enjoy getting a flight so I can enjoy several of their wines. I actually like their muscadine wines surprisingly. They also have the most amazing strawberry cake that is made with their wine! I go every year for my birthday to get a slice. In the summer, it is also nice to get a win slushy as well. The owners are always very friendly and their dogs will likely greet you as well. No beverages may be brought to the property but bring yourself a little picnic of food to enjoy with your wine.

However, my aunt and uncle got this huge suite that had a full size kitchen (with plenty of EMPTY cabinets...why have that many cabinets if you're not going to have plates, cups, or even untensils!) refrigerator (ice machine didn't work) and a fire place that also didn't work. I have no idea what they paid for it but I hope they got some of their money back. All in all, it was a clean, safe place to stay...just don't overpay!

It's cozy and perfect for Mike to walk you through the seven wines bottled here. Mike is wonderful-welcoming and hilarious to talk to. For my wine aficionados-NSV puts their own spin on the muscadine grapes native to the area. These are not your typical sweet blends. They have better depth and complexity than any other muscadine wines we have previously tasted. After a tasting, we had freedom to view the growing areas, a lovely cabin for seeing the grounds from an elevated area, and see some adorable goats as well as see Fred and Barney, the resident hogs on the property. I hadn't been to this winery in a couple of…read moreyears and I was a little sad that the older gentleman I met here who was the owner had passed away. He may have appeared not nice but when I visited he was so sweet to me. I circled back and did a tasting and it was great. They do cater to the dryer palate, which I love. It was lovely trying some of the familiar ones and during my tasting, I remembered why I loved this place. The ladies that assisted me in my tasting were very knowledgeable and had excellent conversation. It was such a pleasant experience. They did let me know that the vineyard will be sold in October and hopefully, someone will continue it on. It so chill and lovely and I don't want to see it go away. If you are in the Lexington area, it's just 15 min away from Childress. I always say to support local if you can. If I had the money, I'd buy it lol. I don't want to see it go away.
