There is a reception area on the left of the front door. Most of the wines for sale are in the center of the room and along the walls. There are also a smattering of tables mostly for couples or small groups who wish to enjoy the wines on offer within the shop. Reception area is where they will inform you where the wines to enjoy on the premises reside and how the digital taps work. You pay up front for a card that you will use to insert into the various taps. One you select a wine to taste you insert your card, push the button to choose a 1 oz pour, 2 oz etc., NOTE before you push the button don't forget to put your wine glass under the spout. I lost a bit of wine to the counter upon my first attempt. Also the clean wine glasses are on the shelf to the left of the wine bank area. This day there was 1 bank of white wines and 2 of reds. I decided to try them all so I opted for 1 oz pours. The wines are pretty reasonable on Sundays as the wines are half price. So its a great time to find a new favorite! The wines come from many different countries, wineries and wine varietals and blends. Mostly I saw wines from 2023 to 2025. They may have older wines but I didn't see any. The shop owner would be able to assist you with any questions in this regard. We were all having a great time tasting and discussing the wines. It was a great way to spend an afternoon. The shop closes promptly at 6pm so we will certainly be back in the future for more wine and shopkeeper's hospitality.

There was a big variety of reds and whites. One thing that I like is if the bottle is low or empties during your pour, the system auto calculates your pricing based on the pour. There was also a good variety of price points too, ranging from about $3-$6. The card is $3 with a $20 minimum amounting to about $25 with tax. We were able to load it once and split it between the two of us. It was a bit further from my home so it's not conveniently located where I would visit often but I did enjoy the concept.

All the spirits are made in house and are super high quality. We have bought them before to give as gifts and everyone loved them. He may have appeared not nice but when I visited he was so sweet to me. I circled back and did a tasting and it was great. They do cater to the dryer palate, which I love. It was lovely trying some of the familiar ones and during my tasting, I remembered why I loved this place. The ladies that assisted me in my tasting were very knowledgeable and had excellent conversation. It was such a pleasant experience. They did let me know that the vineyard will be sold in October and hopefully, someone will continue it on. It so chill and lovely and I don't want to see it go away. If you are in the Lexington area, it's just 15 min away from Childress. I always say to support local if you can. If I had the money, I'd buy it lol. I don't want to see it go away. It started off with visiting Rayson Winery & Vineyards with Bistro Europa Restaurant in Mocksville, NC. I was greeted and welcomed with a tasting with Coleman. This young lady is so knowledgeable and professional in every aspect when it comes to wine! She explained how it got started, how they cultivated the grapes and overcoming obstacles that was preventing the wine production etc. This vineyard has so much history that any wine lover would love to hear, and Coleman is definitely that someone who could share the story. The wines I sampled all had unique tastes. One of my favorite was Sweet Vermouth Blanc. This is a dessert white wine that has varietals of Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay. The ambiance at this location was elegant and filled with sophistication. The customer service from everyone was great. The manager who made all this possible was Liz, who is the manager of Digital and Social for JOLO Brands. She allowed me to have one of the most exceptional experiences ever! I am a wine lover and I absolutely love sampling and learning the ins and out of the wine industry so having these moments are magical!

We did a wine tasting of the sweet wines available: *Placid Peach - this is the one that I remembered and liked. Not my favorite peach wine as I like a little stronger peach flavor, but still a good one. *Rooster Red - an okay wine, did not get much of the intended cranberry flavor. *Strawberry Breeze - thought this was a very good strawberry wine. *Rooster Black - this was very good! Good blackberry flavor. *Tropical Wave - their summer seasonal wine. It was okay. After we did the tasting, we got a glass of their Placid Peach and Rooster Black and enjoyed them on the patio. I really ended up liking Rooster Black the best. My only critiques are because of my own personal preferences. I have really come to like wineries that offer flights. Going to a winery really allows you to enjoy multiple wines rather than having a full glass or bottle of just one wine like you would at home. It's unfortunate that Weathervane does not offer flights. I would also love a wine slushy on a hot day, and it was not offered here. Overall, we enjoyed their wines and would recommend stopping by if you are in the area. They are dog friendly, too, so our pup was allowed to be with us!
