Tasting with outdoor covered and open air seating.

What a wonderful place to stop and share a bottle of wine on your way down Highway 52. The wines are typical of European quality and tastes, with a couple of sweet wines for those who have a sweet tooth. Their grounds and tasting rooms are beautiful. The vineyard looks well cared for and there are lots of historical markers to give you an idea of the history that is part of the region. Highly recommend this stop as it is only 20 minutes from Winston-Salem and you can enjoy the outdoor areas along with their new spacious tasting room. Service was great. We were early to arrive, right after lunch and it soon started filling up after a wonderful chat and a tasting with Rita. Lots of good information on the wines and the history of Curran Alexander Vineyards.

This spot is seriously so freaking cute!!!!! The best winery in the area - hands down. The tasting room is air-conditioned and so comfortable, sunny, clean and cozy! When you walk in you'll be greeted by the sweetest sommelier and all of North Carolina - Holly. The landscaping on this property is absolutely stunning - I honestly felt like I was in a dream or maybe even in heaven. If you're looking for a relaxing date day - this is your spot!

Great wine selection and great people. So many great things happening at this winery. Will soon have a new tasting room and a event/airbnb rental house. We got a tour of the house. Lovely folks that own and manage the winery. This will be an Awesome place to stay.

My friends and I were doing some winery visits and Curran Alexander Vineyards was one of the stops. It ended up being our favorite one! The property is small but pretty. It has a nice welcoming feeling and the employee that helped us was nice and knew a lot about the winery and wine. The tasting room is small but they have a wonderful outdoor area to enjoy. The best part of Curran Alexander was the wine, it was a much better quality than I have found at most of the other local vineyards.

I have no idea why it's taken me years to discover Curran Alexander Vineyards. Beautiful grounds with an eye for history and producing fantastic wines...seriously. CAV focuses on producing high quality reds (although the Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc were tasty in their own right) and they seem to have cellared some of the oldest remaining reds in NC (most wines for sale in 2020 are vintage between 2007 and 2010). They've held up remarkably well, and I would rank the Reserve Cabs and Reserve Merlot as some of the best in the state. The testing room is on the smaller side, but it's cozy and there's plenty of outdoor covered and uncovered seating. The people are fantastic and enjoy talking about the Vineyard, its history, and the terrific wines. Right off of 150, the vineyard is easy to find. I can't wait to come back and enjoy more of what CAV has to offer.

Cute winery with live music and a lovely bartender. Wines are delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. No food available.

In short order, they have learned our likes and dislikes and never to fail to guide us to old and new favorites. Then again, Graddie and Caleb also have a way to seek and find great values. A bonus is that they offer food delivered from Table 31 next door, which is always excellent and tasty. The deviled eggs, Korean Cauliflower, French Dip and French Fries (crispy until the last bite) are always good as is the rest of their menu. I've had almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed -- oh, I forgot to mention the Nashville Hot Chicken... If you haven't been to this cozy, intimate shop with a large patio area, you owe yours a treat. Cheers!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Native Vines Winery, the first American Indian-owned winery in the United States. If you're coming from Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or Charlotte, the drive is an easy one -- less than an hour away and well worth the trip. I chose a quiet fall weekend when no events were scheduled. The weekend hours are a bit longer, so it gave me time to relax and enjoy the full experience. As soon as I walked through the door, I was warmly welcomed. Native Vines offers a customizable tasting where you can choose six wines from their list. I'm usually more of a semi-sweet wine drinker, but I decided to be adventurous and include two dry wines in my flight. My selections were: * * * * * * Dry wines: Indian Summer and Chief's Blend * * * * * * Semi-sweet wines: White Buffalo, Green Tea Wine, Raspberry Tea Wine, and Sangria Crackers were provided between tastings to cleanse the palate -- a thoughtful touch. The winery offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and there was even a food truck on-site for those wanting a bite to pair with their wine. My personal favorite was the Green Tea Wine -- light, refreshing, and pleasantly unexpected. I also loved Chief's Blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon with rich cherry and cocoa notes. In the end, I couldn't resist taking home bottles of the Green Tea Wine, Chief's Blend, and of course, the Sangria (because who can ever say no to Sangria?). I'm already planning my next visit -- hopefully on a day when they're hosting one of their lively events. If you're looking for a laid-back winery experience with a unique cultural story, Native Vines is absolutely worth the trip.

After being greeted in the main building, we were directed to enjoy the scenic route or walk directly towards the back of the building to enjoy the live music. There's an open space behind the main building with a small stage to enjoy live music, or if you're more a bookworm like myself you can grab a chair near the small lake. I enjoyed lunch in the Bistro (it was an earlier lunch because they were closing earlier for a private event - it's a beautiful space so I can see why) - the lunch menu offered a variety of items of if you're just interested in dessert, then you can grab something from the front and enjoy the weather. This beautiful place could easily get crowded on a weekend so I'd recommend reservations, just to ensure that you have a table without the wait. I decided to go with a wrap with grilled chicken and it was seasoned just right and was complimented with the perfect amount of fries. But the highlight of my lunch (besides the wine, lol) was the sweet tea - as a southerner, it hit the spot. A private tour was scheduled for me and that's probably where I made up my mind that I'd be back to visit this place. The tour guide was personable and she knew her stuff. Not to mention, I was able to enjoy fresh grapes from the vineyard (yum!). I fell in love with a couple of their signature wines, so I grabbed a couple of bottles from the gift shop - it's also offers a great opportunity to grab a few gifts for family and friends. I'd recommend this place for an easy Saturday or Sunday as it's great way to relax and recharge - but if you're feeling inclined to stay there's a hotel available near the vineyards (walking distance). Go check them out!
