I'm glad he did because I had a great time perusing the selection, chatting with the staff, and exploring all of their offerings (they carry Holiday wine, my new favorite local brand). Local favorite amongst Ardmore residents and beyond! Living in the neighborhood I love Stella Brew for the convenience and location. Their selection is one of the best I've seen in the triad which is saying a lot after moving back to WS from Asheville. They carry many of the beers I loved in Aville including Burial and Fonta Flora! The one note is that their beers are a bit pricier than most but it's understandable which distribution being tougher. I've been meaning to check this place out FOREVER and was so glad I did! I was beyond was pleased! I was looking for local craft beers I had seen advertised on their Instagram page (which I suggest you follow!) and found more than I anticipated. Not only did they have excellent local crafts but hard to find crafts from all over the US and Europe. They also had a nice wine selection but I am exclusively a hop-head. I encountered super friendly and helpful staff. Unlike some small bottle shops SB was very competitively priced- hey we all know beer can be an expensive hobby! They price match as well so bring in the sale price and shop local. If you are a craft beer/wine person and looking for a great selection you will find it here. Being close-by today I decided to swing by while I waited for a food order. I haven't been in the store since before the great and terrible pandemic of twenty-twenty. They have a pretty good system set up. They only allow a few people in at the same time, and there was someone to get things out of the coolers, which keeps all of the handles clean. As usual, Stella Brew has a great selection of interesting stuff to drink and a couple of friendly guys working there. I ended up getting some Shacksbury Arlo cider and a pack of Franziskaner Weissbeir. read more

Whats not to like about Stella Brew? The owner/employees are all really friendly and happy to help you. They have a good selection of beer that is already chilled or a ton of other options lining the shelf. If you are a beer drinking you are sure to find multiple things here to take home and love! Sometimes there is a wait to fill growlers so just be aware of that when you go in. I recently learned they even have a wide variety of sour beers which is really the only beer I drink. I needed beer for a party so I went in and asked for help and they were able to send me home with a great crowd pleasing variety. Important to note *they price match*!! So there really is no reason not to buy your beer locally even if there is a sale going on at that bigger store down the street since Stella will price match for you. Favorite place to pick up craft beers to go in Winston! They always have such a great variety and are really good about getting the newest stuff in quickly! We have even went in before to ask if they were getting something in and the guy wasn't sure so he took our number and said he'd give us a call if/when it came in. We didn't expect to actually get one but a few weeks later he called to let us know they got what we were looking for. Recently moved to the area and we are SO LUCKY to have Stella Brew a short drive from us!!! We loved this place from the moment we stepped foot through their door. Pretty sweet selection of crafts beers (and wine - though didn't we really pay much attention to the wines, as we came for BEER!) We even sampled some of their beers. Earlier in the day I had a hankering for this UK imported beer called "Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale" (SO DELISH)... AND STELLA BREW HAD IT!!!!! Yay yay yay! We went for the "pick-a-six" from the individual beers but in the future we'll also try their growlers. The store looks really cool inside and the workers were very friendly. Love this place! It's very close and easy to find! They have varieties of beer and wine from around the world! They have growlers you can get filled and occasions tastings of new arrivals! I love that if there's a beer that I can't find easily, Stella never disappoints. They also have recommended several to try and one is now my top picks! I love that they're dog friendly and always willing to help you decide. They also have it so you can mix and match a custom six pack which is nice too. Especially if trying a new brew vs committing to a whole pack and may not like it. So I went again to Stella because they had some new releases of beers that are very hard to find and to my delight, I called to check and not only did they have it, but they held it for me! I was searching for Burial Beer Co Skillet Donut Stout as a surprise for my husband and also while I was there was very excited they have increased their stock of Wicked Weed beers... Both ales and sours! They even had glasses from the brewery too! I love the Black Sour Ale named Black Angel because it's made with tart cherries and aged in bourbon barrels! read more

This place is a Mecca for any beer enthusiast. They have a huge selection especially of craft beer that you can't necessarily find in many stores. The staff are very knowledgable & always willing to point you in the right direction. The other convenient thing about this store besides for the location is the fact that they offer growlers. You can choose a beer that they have on tap, pay for the initial cost of the growler & the beer you want in it then bring it back any time after & just pay the price of the beer. Great deal! An unexpected find in Winston Salem. There are a variety of different drinks (beer, wine, champagne). It's almost perfect, and has a wide selection and the owner is okay with picking and choosing drinks to mix and match. Furthermore, the owner is incredibly helpful with locating different drinks and offering suggestions. Excellent location and parking is very easy. LOVE THIS PLACE. MY husband and I were driving around Ardmore looking at houses to rent or buy in the next year and stumbled across Stella Brew. The staff seem nice enough, on our second visit they were actually considerably more engaged even though we came in 5 minutes before close time (I know I hate me too - but we grabbed a six pack and hit the road). Anyways they have a MASSIVE amount of craft and delicious beers. Thanks to them my Untapped beer count has already greatly increased. We asked about Sculpin habanero and they just got it in this week so looks like we will be going by tonight to get some :):). I cannot wait to live near this shop, I will be a regular. read more

As just moving to the area, this brewery is within walking distance and is perfect for me to go down to and grab a new beer. Because of the vast selection they have on stock I can always find something new every time I go. They even have dog treats available for your furry friend. Stella Brew is amazing! Matt (the owner) is crazy knowledgeable about beer, and is constantly setting up tastings with local breweries and wineries. In addition, they have a tremendous selection both domestic and foreign.
