I went twice during December for vanilla vodka (hello Christmas vibes!) and to my surprise, the Stolis vanilla vodka was on sale for $15.99! What a steal! It's usually $21.99. On this visit, there were two vendors offering free samples. Uhm, yes, please. One was a local distillery (https://giadistillery.com), and the other was Cîroc. GIA makes a grappa so good that it was voted the best luxury grappa in the world in 2021! Having lived in Munich before and spending lots of 3 day weekends in Italy via a short drive, I love grappa. Not knowing about this award, when I tried their grappa, it was heavenly. I picked up a bottle of the grappa along with a bottle of their whiskey. They also had bottles of their vodka, but that's not my drink; I leave that and gin to my wife. I'll visit the GIA distillery and do a full review soon. Back to this ABC store, there are plenty of helpful employees. The store is also very bright and inviting, which I appreciate. I don't like dimly lit stores. They are depressing. Some of the other items I picked up were a bottle of Travelers whiskey, a collaboration between the Buffalo Trace distillery, and Chris Stapleton, and a bottle of John A. P. Connelly whiskey. This is another North Carolina product. It's difficult to find their products in stock. I like the rye and have never had their whiskey. But they had two bottles of whiskey, so I grabbed one to try. They also had a bottle of Bookers on the shelf, which is also difficult to find. In fact, I've only ever found it here. 5 stars all day long.

I came here one day because they had Buffalo Trace, which is very hard to find, and I wanted to get some for my dad. This is the only ABC store I've visited that had this seltzer as well as so many coolers. I appreciate being able to get a pack that's already cold after a long day at work.

I didn't recall that there was a bar in the rear and made sure to snap a shot of their weekly board. I'd return to check out some of their events or even just to grab a bottle of wine. I selected a Riesling that did not disappoint and a Cabernet Sauvignon by Jam. I forgot to snap a pick of the Riesling but I'll return to grab it again! I'd say it's a place you could easily overlook but if you did stumble in here, you might find a brew or want to hang out at the bar for a bit. I was looking for a bottle of tequila to make margaritas with. In the past, I usually just grabbed a bottle of Jose but ABC had a great selection of tequila that I must have looked pretty confused as to what to choose. A worker explained some differences between types and colors. He then suggested a bottle that he himself drinks... BONUS, it was on sale and DOUBLE BONUS, there was a $10 off mail-in rebate too! So I got a 1.5L, (usually $35) for $20 after the rebate! BOOM! I will definitely be back to this store for my future liquor needs :-)

Despite having to work New Years Eve day, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They also had a High Point police officer at the door ensuring no issues, I'm not clear if that's a daily thing, or just during busier times of the year. They carry a good selection of alcohol, in many cases, even offering several brands for more common items like vodka, whiskey, and bourbon. They don't sell any beer at the ABC store, and I don't frequent them though to be able to say if any do. But they cart the hard stuff, some mixers and a very small selection of snacks.

The group that I travel with is about 25 people total. Last week my friend and I went to buy a few things and the employee was very pushy for us to buy drink mixers, which we absolutely hate. We politely declined to buy them, paid for our stuff and left. Tonight we go again and he AGAIN tried to push us to buy nasty drink mixers, we politely declined AGAIN (same guy) and when it was time to pay for our 4 bottles of different liquors (don't judge) he said he couldn't sell to us because we had a TEXAS ID....REALLY?? REALLY??? WTF is that about? So if our ID is issued in Texas, somehow we can't buy liquor? That's weird, because he did last week, and every bar in town has had no problem with our Texas IDs. Funny rule for a liquor store in a town where 35,000 [eople come from all over the world for the furniture market. Also, my biggest problem was the mean and almost insulting way he said it. He was just a huge jerk. I would understand if that actually was the law and he explained it nicely, but it's like he got satisfaction telling us no. I seriously don't know what his problem is, but we are both pretty angry and we will just drive a few extra miles to avoid that total douche bag. The service was great, the location is great right on 4th Street, the inside of the bar and decor is really cool, and the drinks and menu are genuinely really nice and creative, but where are all the people? It is always empty with no one there which really brings it down.
