I have been to The Grand before and have seen a few different people. This time I found my perfect stylist. I recently went and got a haircut and color after a long time away from the salon. I love the Grand Salon and have been going there for a little over a year. However, I just have not found a stylist I usually just get a cut and trim the edges. I was there this week as a walk in and they Aimee had availability. THIS WAS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME!! I asked for curtain bangs and she literally chopped all my hair I was so scared when I saw her hands shaking through the mirror , but I thought I could trust her and maybe she knew what she was doing. If you ever come here and she's available just ask for another person or come back another day but DO NOT LET HER TOUCH YOUR HAIR! I have been crying for the last two days because I don't know what to do my hair is short it can't be repaired so I need to wait for it to grow in or just get a wig because I literally can't do anything to it . This review is for services from Beauty by Envy :) I got a Deluxe Facial + Massage with Eva and she started our session with asking me what I considered my problem areas for my skin, and did her own observation of my skin as well. I let her know I struggle with my nose and have a pimple/clogged pore that won't seem go away and she used her tool to help clear it out. She also noticed some skin irritation on my scalp near my hairline and made sure to avoid the area with products that may irritate it further. The products she uses smell sooooo good as well it made the experience even more enjoyable The gua sha massage made me want to sleep and was very relaxing and I loved the cooling sensation. Bianca is the best hairstylist to have ever walked this planet. She has done my hair for many years and always know what looks best. She is so fast with her hands yet pays such great detail to the foils and work that goes into your hair. She is so easy to talk to as well and gives such a comforting environment to converse, laugh, and feel safe. Yes it does take a long time to do hair especially if it's long and thick like mine, but she makes it go by so fast. Her services are prices so well in comparison to what some hairdressers are trying to charge. I just have to say that I was fully blown away by my experience with Aubree today. I didn't have an appointment and somehow ended up with the perfect stylist. Aubree had this warm and welcoming energy about her that I noticed the moment she introduced herself. As someone who has really bad anxiety, I truly do appreciate all her efforts to make me feel welcome, taken care of, and heard regarding my hair goals. She was confident, efficient, and my hair turned out better than I could have EVER expected it to. It quickly became obvious to me that she's a perfectionist- in the best way possible. Not only does she care about the color/cut, but she looks out for the overall health longevity of her clients' hair. She's able to roll with whatever roadblocks are in her way and adapt. Her extensive understanding of the products and different hair types made me feel at ease in her chair. I was impressed by how she was able to multitask. She truly thrives in this field. She took my raggedy long blue hair that resembled a birds next and transformed it in just one session. MIND YOU MY HAIR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN PURPLE AND PINK AS WELL. This beautiful lady is pure magic. She talked me through a little bit of color theory and was able to build rapport with me by showing me some pictures of similar cases in her portfolio. Her customer service is unmatched in the sense that she treated me just like she would treat a good friend. There was no awkward silence. I did not at any point during my appointment have any doubts about trusting her. She was able to accommodate my last minute request for color removal and didn't hesitate to ask the front to block off more time for my appointment. She went out of her way -even though it was after closing-time to make sure that I got beautifully styled and was taught what products to use in my hair and how to style my hair myself at home. Even though we were almost the last people there, she took her time and went out of her way for little old me. In summary: Aubree's charisma, skill, and attention to detail left me in awe. She is by far the best stylist I've ever had and I plan to keep her as my stylist for as long as I can. The thing that makes her stand out from other stylists is not only the fact that she is passionate about what she does, but she's compassionate to her clients as well. I bleached my hair on my own a couple years ago, with little to no research or knowledge LOL it led to severe damage and breakage in my hair and I've been putting my hair in a ponytail ever since. My 4 year old was so excited to get her bangs cut for Christmas. We booked an appointment and they told us to come between 5:40 and 5:45 which I thought was weird how I don't have an exact time. I got there at 5:44 and they wouldn't take us because my stylist refused my service because she had to leave. Rosa, the front receptionist said she had a miscommunication with her and that she couldn't take me. I explained that I drove for about 50 minutes and she still couldn't help me. I love the care and attention she gives when ever she cuts and styles my hair! Last time I went in I wanted to do something completely different so I went for a balayage ombre to blond! It was a lengthly process but that's because she didn't take any shortcuts and has great attention to detail! This is kind of a response to the sad human under the name of Liz G. Who just left a review in regards to the stylist Maureen. First of all Maureen has been my stylist for over 3 years. She is a diligent, hardworking now mom of 3! She's worked through two of her pregnancies till the moment she was about to deliver. She is sweet natured, does an AMAZING JOB with hair and is always trying to make sure her clients leave happy. It's seems to me that Maureen unfortunately has fell victim to a client who has tried to take advantage of her kindness, and they are now upset when stricter policies are being enforced. Keep in mind stylists do have the right to refuse service to clients. Her pricing has always been extremely"transparent" with me and with all of her clients. It sounds to me like someone who has a trouble understanding pricing is someone who is trying to either A. Find ways to not pay full price or B. Try to find ways to get a "discount". I also work in the beauty industry, and we have definitely had clients in the past who take advantage of rescheduling their appointments to the point where we'd have to require a deposit or charge a no show fee because essentially you are making the stylist lose out on money or have the ability to fill your spot to make up for that money by cancelling last minute. It's a standard policy in ALLOT of salons requiring deposits which ENSURE your spot and it all goes towards your service when you are at your appointment. So someone who has a problem with deposit fees is definitely someone who tends to reschedule allot and has no consideration of other peoples time. And if you're ensuing that Maureen is a stylist who needs to be "re-evaluated" due to break ins that have occurred. I'm sorry but you are just pulling shit out of your ass at this point. How fucking dare you. This woman is a mother of three who she needs to provide for. And IS VERY FINANCIALLY capable due to her profession and isn't in financial need enough to break into her own damn salon. She wakes up drops her kids off, and the moment she's off goes straight home to her family. The fact that you are so upset over a deposit fee (that ENSURES your appointment) that you are trying to slander her character and morals, and try and do the most to try and cost her her job. A mother of 3??? REALLY? I think the only person here that needs an evaluation is you girlfriend. I deal with clients like you all day. Entitled and selfish who get all pissy when they don't have their shady intentions met. I've looked through your reviews boo and sounds like this isn't your first rodeo at trying to slander people who are just trying to work to make a living just to try and take advantage and get something out of it. There's businesses you've reviewed LAW FIRMS who claim you try and blackmail them. You're fucking crazy and sleazy. And it's so sad to see people as sweet as Maureen fall victim to people who have nothing better to do with their time than make other peoples lives miserable. She goes through enough in her daily life. Maureen had always done an amazing job on me, I've had absolutely no issues, her hygiene is always great, she takes care of me and her other clients and HER FAMILY. If you were not happy with her as a stylist for whatever reason YOU COULD HAVE FOUND SOMEONE ELSE! LWhen I had to reschedule my appointment on the 5/24/22 the coward of my previous hairstylist Maureen had reception call me and say that they no longer could take me unless I left a deposit mind you this is the day before my surgery I was packing to go to Saint Jude hospital. Salons with better morals are everywhere with transparent pricing unlike Maureen. The salons ongoing break-ins are also cause for safety and concern how does a specific salon keep getting broken into with no leads year after year. Re-evaluate the "stylists" you hire and see if they have financial need for which they would need to break in or send someone in. You can call the local PD to confirm the ongoing break ins. I asked for a callback from any of the siblings who own the salon and a week later nobody has called me and my hair extensions are being held hostage. I have text message confirmation that she has them so we will see. I also see if I have to call the state boards regarding the hygienic process here. Raylene Maldonado was a great stylist in my opinion. I visited her on 11/25/2024. Raylene did exactly what I wanted and was very polite and kind to me. This was only my second time going to a salon. She did a very good job asking me if i liked what i was seeing and if i was doing okay. At the very beginning she asked me if i wanted a water, coffee, or tea which immediately made me feel welcomed. The fromt desk was nice and polite. The cost was not too expensive which i liked because I am not rich. I got a dry cut for only 45 dollars with great service from Raylene. If i could give this review a negative 10 i would. I was a walk in appointment and the receptionist put me with a stylist close to the front desk. I explained to the stylist i wanted a blunt cut with long layers and face framing. What i received was a haircut it will take me over a year to recover from. (My hair length went all the way down my back) The stylist sounded confident she could achieve the haircut. When in fact she ruined my hair. She used a straight razor on my entire haircut. (Not once explaining the difference between a haircut with a razor and a haircut with scissors) i was trying to trust the process and what i thought was her knowledge of her craft. Large salon close to the Brea Mall. Mia was able to take me as a walk-in on Sunday, so I was super thankful! She was very attentive and listened to what I was looking for and offered her own recommendations as well. It was $130 for highlights + $75 for cut and styling. Not only did my hair turn out perfect, but I LOVE that they use Bumble & Bumble products. High quality and they smell great!! All five stars are for Cindy B. She is easily the best stylist I've ever had. I've been getting my hair cut by her for a few years now and I have never looked back. I don't trust anyone else with my hair. If you have long hair and like to keep your length, Cindy is your girl. I like my hair very long so I come to Cindy for a trim. Unlike other places and stylists she gives you exactly what you ask for. I've had so many bad experiences where I go in asking for an inch trimmed off and leave 5 inches shorter. This will never happen with Cindy. She trims it little by little and will give you a mirror for approval along the way. If she thinks you should go shorter (Bc or split ends, damaged hair, etc) she'll mention it to you, but the decision is ultimately yours. She won't ever push you to do anything you won't like. Cindy has excellent taste and judgement so if you're looking to change things up she can give you lots of great suggestions. She uses Bumble and Bumble products so you know you're gonna smell amazing. Her chair and tools are extremely clean and she has the best customer service skills. I've never felt awkward sitting in her chair. She makes you feel like you're catching up with an old friend. If you wanna make an appointment with Cindy B, call the Grand.
