    Sarango tinto de verano
    Dominic B.

Decided to stop in here to get some rest and check it out since I knew it was on the top floor of El Corte Inglés. Upon entering, they have a bunch of Spanish products: chocolates, spices, turron, etc. which makes it a great place to shop before heading home if you're looking for some souvenirs. As you head down the corridor there are a bunch of places to eat. They all smelled pretty good, but seemed a bit touristy, so I didn't try any of the food. I did stop by Juanillo which was a bar at the end where the bartender was quick to hook me up with a sarango tinto de Verano which was basically a sangria. It was in the middle of the day and this drink was pretty refreshing without being too sweet. What makes this place so dope though is they have a wall-sized window that basically gives you a panoramic view of the city of Madrid, highlighting key points of interest. Definitely enjoyed seeing half the city within the air conditioned confines of el Corte Inglés. Also, me being a dumb tourist left one of my bags at the table while I was shopping. However, when I asked one of the workers if they had seen it, they had it safely stored in the back and inquired about its contents to verify that it was indeed mine. Definitely appreciated this since I could imagine it being stolen if I were back in the states. So I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking to get some shopping done, looking to grab a bite/drink or just relaxing and taking in the views of Madrid.

Located on top (9th) floor of one of the numerous Cort Inglés department store buildings in Madrid. Access by lift or escalators whichever you find first. Awesome views from the balcony and from the inside. Prices are not insane taking into account the location and the atmosphere. Champagne and wine are 3-4€ a glass. Multiple counters of different food vendors (a high end food court?). Worth a visit. Best time to take pics is sunset as always.

The Gourmet Experience on the top floor of El Corte Ingles is many things: *It's a food court, especially later in the day after the shopping part of the store closes. Whatever you want, they have. Raw bar? Pizza? Drinks? Gelato? It's all there. *It's a great place for a reasonably priced date. There's a huge wrap around patio that offers amazing city views. Nothing more romantic than that! *It's a small gourmet market with food from all over the world. Expats will be happy to know that you can get all of your disgusting favorites here including Lucky Charms and PopTarts (€8/box!!) *It's a place for feelings. Feeling happy because you just had an amazing trip with good friends and are currently enjoying a very tasty slice of pizza (€6, includes wine) and overlooking Puerta del Sol. Feeling sad because you get on a plane in the AM to go home and you'll miss this beautiful city. Worth a stop, whatever your reason is.

This y'all is the Spanish version of Eataly!! The area is located above the shopping center of El Cortes Inglais. While the shopping center itself closes at 10PM, don't let this fool you. There is another side door you can walk into and take the elevators up to the 9th floor. THIS PLACE WAS OPEN PAST 10PM!!! The views of Plaza del Sol are pretty breathtaking and this place is a must see/eat. Two restaurants I tried in this "Spanish Eataly" were Imanol (amazing food but relatively ok service.... service here was hit or miss) and Amorino (the Gelato place).

Gourmet experience is a must if in Madrid. Roof top views, several dinning options and full service bars. Service is fast and friendly.

Inside and you can tell it has a nice crowd.

I'm just telling you right now you need to go to The Gourmet Experience one evening while you are in Madrid to soak up the view. First of all, it took friends and I awhile to find this place one evening. Granted we had been enjoying wine, cava and other alcoholic beverages during the day and were just walking through the streets with the rest of the people. It's nice because you usually don't have to deal with cars on most of the streets until the Policia comes flying through town and almost runs you over no matter where you are. We were told head that way. I had a tendency to get lost in Madrid for whatever reason. Even though I had a map it is still confusing because the streets are not in a grid pattern. Think of Burbank California without the mountains to help you out. They told us to look for a Corte Ingles store and The Gourmet Experience would be on the 9th Floor which is the top. Just know right now that the Corte Ingles Department store is everywhere it seems. Don't call us tourists because everyone is a tourist unless you are content to be a couch potato all your life. Thankfully, one of our group asked a guy in one shop in tagalog how to get there so we could just get there already. Once we arrived at the right Corte Ingles we made a beeline to the elevator and pushed the button for the 9th Floor. Be prepared to be packed in that elevator like sardines in a can because everyone else, their mother, brother, sister and their friends are trying to get to the top floor too to soak up the view. If you want to grab a bite to eat, grab another drink and it's not too crowded go for it. If not, just head toward the door to the balcony and start taking some photos. You will be able to see the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace all lit up. Yes, definitely look for this place, but don't be tricked into buying saffron there. The prices are outrageous and you can find better deals elsewhere.

Views from the 9th floor! Lovely views!!

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the Gourmet Experience! Take the elevator to the 9th floor of the El Corte Ingles department store for one of the world's BEST views! This place is sure to surprise you the first time you arrive; it's like no other. Not only will the views blow you away, but the different varieties of food that you will have to choose from will have you believe that you are a little kid in a candy store. Welcome to the Gourmet Experience, where you can't just say yes to one, you have to say yes for all! Yes, Yelpers! The views here are picture-perfect! Who would have ever thought? Now tell me, do you want a view of Gran Via...or...do you want a view of Callao"? Ta' Hell! Have a view of the whole damn skyline! Located off the top of the floor of the giant El Corte Ingles shopping center, get a beautiful glimpse of Royal Palace and the Cathedral as well while you're up there! This was definitely on my to-do list and I'm happy I had a chance to visit. While locals come here to shop for home-cooking or to hang out with friends, travelers are upstairs on the 9th floor enjoying the lovely views from outside and eating all of the food the different variety of vendors; Tapa galore, baby! Yes, everything from seafood, pizza and ice cream. Some of the key restaurants that you will find here are: *StreetXo *Central Mexicana *Amorino *Imanol *Pizza al Cuadrado This is one of the best combinations of having delicious food and enjoying lovely views of Madrid. From the 9th floor, you get a stunning view of the skyline outside. This is a definitely a place you should put on your to-do list when visiting Madrid!

Very disappointing meal at Hamburgesa Nostra. We encountered the most rude waiter we have ever experienced. When we asked him for another minute to make our meal choices- he rolled his eyes and walked away. Our meals arrived and I ordered my burger medium and it came rare (pictured). It also had bacon which I told him in English and Spanish I could not eat. When I told the waiter about the issues, he argued with me in was medium and there was nothing that can be done other than throwing the dilapidated burger back on the grill. He walked away angrily and did not return. Also, we ordered a vanilla shake 4.90 E and we were charged for the special milk shake which was 5.90 E. When I explained this to the waiter he insisted they were the same price despite the menu indicating the prices were different. We spent 32 Euro for a terrible meal and an even worse customer service experience.

Wow! What an experience. Being from the US and coming to this was pretty awesome. Surprisingly it was inside of a mall, which I would have never found if it wasn't thanks to the reviews. Entering into the gourmet experience there was a area that sold wine, which unfortunately I did not get to experience. The Gourmet Experience reminded me of a food court on steroids because it was super nice, included an actual bar, ice cream/desert place, pizza, raw bar, and many other things. If you're lucky you can even get a seat next to the beautiful view overseeing Madrid, which is breath taking. I tried the pizza place, as well as the bar and both were great. My boyfriend and I ordered a variety of pizza and for the most part we were satisified. The pork on the pizza was a miss but the pizza itself was good. Overall, the customer service was pretty good too. We had a lot of questions when visiting the raw bar and they were very kind with assisting us and answering all questions. Even if you don't eat here, it's worth the view. Go visit!

Meat market! Offers nice tapas too.

Located on the top floor of the mall, El Cortes Ingles, this food court is very impressive! Offering a panoramic view of Madrid's skyline, plenty of seating, wifi, and some very upscale food booths with tapas, its hard to ask for more! They also sell groceries too. If you come a bit later for lunch, they'll also have burgers, dim sum, sushi, and beer and wine bars. We ordered a few late breakfast and brunch items from various booths - anything with olives, smoked fish, and their dried ham were superb. Probably the only item that was too salty was the one with anchovies. Coffee was excellent - Americano is bold and smooth and comes with a small chocolate wafer!

Brilliant twist with the mall food court concept! Gourmet food options, vast bar drink options, great music, and all with a fantastic view of the city! Perfect for 1st day late arrival view of the city! #rooftop #gourmet #foodcourt #elcorteingles

    Navaja razor clams
    Ryan C.

My spouse and I came here while visiting Madrid, and had the chance to try two different food vendors. The first had bar seating in a U shape and was toward the far back on the right. We ordered drinks to go with our navaja razor clams, our caramelized foie gras with apple on a fried crisp, and our pulpo gallego (seasoned octopus with potato). This made for a delicious dinner, and we were happy to also have free Wifi internet access available during our dinner. Being atop the Corte Ingles, there is also a nice view both in the evening and the daytime. We ended up coming back here for a lunch and trying another vendor, one that was selling gourmet burgers. I had an "iberico" style burger which was made of pork and Manchego cheese, among other ingredients. It was flavorful, but all the ingredients were mixed into the burger patty and were for the most part indistinguishable. The burger comes simply on a patty. At the dining table, there is a large assortment of sauces available to try with your burger. It was an interesting meal, and my spouse loved it and wanted to go back, but I didn't personally find the burgers that memorable. During the daytime, we had a chance to walk around the outside deck area, which is long and wraps around the side of the building giving viewers a chance to see an extensive Madrid horizon. I had a great time here. The Corte Ingles free Wifi was unreliable, but there were other vendors within the Gourmet Experience that offered functional free Wifi that we ended up using instead.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Madrid on a very cute street, and it is easy to find and walk there if you stay in the city center. The place is not very big - both times I went there for lunch, there were no tables available, so I had to sit at the bar; once I even had to wait about 7 minutes until one bar spot became free. The restaurant's design is simple, but pretty and lovely. Overall, the restaurant is in very good condition and was perfectly clean both times I visited. The only small downside is that the place is quite noisy, but it did not bother me. One of the best things about this place is the people who work there - both a guy and a lady at the bar were extremely nice and friendly to me; plus, both spoke very good English. They gave me recommendations on what to try, and I followed their advice. The restaurant's menu is not big, but it has all the most popular traditional Spanish dishes. Both times I ordered Rabo de Toro (a traditional Spanish stew), Fardos (squid rolls with bacon and squid ink mousse); and once I also tried croquetas de jamón (ham croquettes). The croquettes were tasty - I loved their flavor and soft texture. One portion includes 6 pieces, and they are quite big and filling. It was my first time trying Fardos (I ordered a 1/3 portion), and it was a great experience - the dish turned very delicious after the bartender mixed it for me. The squid was cooked very nicely, and combined with the fresh bacon and ink mousse, it tasted fantastic. Rabo de Toro (I ordered a 1/2 portion) was also my first time trying this dish, and I loved it - the stew was perfectly cooked, very soft and moist, with rich flavors, and it melted in my mouth. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of drinks, especially wines. I do not drink alcohol, so I was recommended to try grape juice - Mosto, which was extremely flavorful and tasted like fresh pressed grape juice, even though it came from a glass bottle. I loved that drink! Price-wise, all items on the menu seemed reasonable. I paid €8 for 6 ham croquettes, €12 for a half portion of Rabo de Toro, €8 for a 1/3 portion of Fardos, and €3 for one glass of grape juice. It is possible to have a nice full lunch here for around €22, which is reasonable for a restaurant in the heart of Madrid. The place accepts all major credit cards and Apple Pay, which is a big plus. If you visit this restaurant, I strongly recommend trying 1/3 or 2/3 portion of Fardos, a half portion of Rabo de Toro, and their grape juice Mosto - it's enough food to feel full and experience traditional Spanish flavors.

The whole place gives cozy tavern vibes with a rustic interior that feels perfectly Madrid. NOTE: the portions are a bit heavier than most spots. I hate to waste food, especially when it's as immaculate as the Oxtail, but if you're a party of one, you got to do what you go to do.
