Super cute, good service and cool outdoor seating. We ordered a few different plates to share and they were all really really great. Favorite by far was the salmon on toast with cream cheese, ham and apples inside. I've had much better potatoes. And I am not a lemon person by any means, but they're lemon tart was to die for!! Also their sangria is insanely refreshing

Very good adresse in Madrid! Lots of choices you can share. Prices are affordable approximately 20€ per person without alcohol Loved the burata, the "croquetas de jamon" and the quesadillas! Pan con tomate is very good to!

It was our first meal in Madrid. Romantic athmosphere, not bad service, wonderful dishes. Reasonable price. I would recommend here for sure to experience a decent Spanish tapas.

Lateral gets pretty busy after about 9:30pm - try to get there earlier if you can. The restaurant is located a flight down the stairs, lights are dim and tables near each other - it creates for a very close, intimate environment. Because there is a lot of people in a very small space, the ambient noise level can get rather high. If you're looking for a quiet evening, keep walking. The menu is avail in Spanish and English. Overall, the food (tapas) is very good in both portion and flavor. When in Spain, alway go for the Jamón. On this visit, while the jamon is tasty, the slices are in very small in pieces - my friends and I felt they were more "crumbs" than slices you would typically get in a Spanish restaurant. Maybe it's just this one? Outside of that, the other tapas plates were good... Service staffs were attentive and prompt. There is a small pager gadget at each table that patrons can use to page the staffs, for order, request the bill/check, etc.

I truly have to highlight Pepe, Franco, and Grace for taking the time to speak to us and get to know us. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the seafood paella, jamon iberico, garlic shrimp, and sangria. The paella was filled with a ton of flavor which was DELICIOUS. Everything was fantastic, but the Sangria was spectacular, (probably one of the best sangrias I've ever had). At the end of our meal, Pepe brought us two liquor de Limon shots, which made our whole night!! Definitely recommend this place in the La Latina neighborhood. You won't regret it!

It has that classic bustling tapas bar energy where everyone is close enough to feel like part of one big conversation. The food was the highlight. The clams were flavorful and fresh, the octopus was cooked beautifully and the paella was delicious. It is a great place to stop in for a drink and a quick bite, especially if you want something authentic and lively. When we visited, it was packed to the point where you were shoulder to shoulder with other guests and close enough to easily hear the party next to you. It adds to the charm if you enjoy that classic crowded European dining atmosphere, but it is something to keep in mind if you prefer more space.

In Spain, I still get confused about seating. "Is this place a seat-yourself place or a wait-to-be-seated place?" Sometimes it is hard to tell; therefore, to avoid an awkward encounter by making a command decision, I stand in one central place awkwardly blocking the waitress/waiter until they tell me what to do. Thank God for my wife, though, who makes the decision and just sits. Luckily, she was right. This is one of those just-sit-and-wait-for-the-waitress places. Now, before you order know that you are welcome to take a look inside at the food. Also, know that some items on the menu are not available at certain times of the day (I'm sorry but I'm still in the dark as to what those items are). Nevertheless, they have a great selection of tapas (midday snacks, translation curiosity of me). The great thing about this place is that there are zero tapas and drinks that breach the €6 mark. In fact, everything we got was under €3.75. Our most expensive item was the tortilla de patata, which was deliciously proportioned (a great ratio of runny to solid). Not only was the food and drink very cheap but it was also delicious. We tried a smorgasbord of tapas. I did not necessarily delight in all the tapas, some were just not my bag baby. However, others were definitely my bag (see pictures for details). In total, we got 6 tapas and five drinks and only paid €27. Overall, this is definitely a great spot for tapas. Whether you're out with your date or you're bringing the kids along for the ride, this little place off Calle de Serrano is perfect to break the seal on your first tapas experience. Enjoy!

I suspected we were in for a great meal, and I was not disappointed! We were seated, and our drink orders were produced quickly. The restaurant is big, as there is an outdoor dining area, and an upstairs and downstairs dining room. We were seated downstairs, next to a display case with these little statues of an army of servers brining food. But, I did not find their noise level too bad, as we were capable of having a conversation at a normal volume. Since there were 4 in our party, we ordered a selection of their hot and cold small plates to share - ceasar salad, croquettes filled with stew meat, fried clams, and tortilla patatas. The tortilla patatas took the prize for me. Excellent, and I could have eaten more. Next came our main dishes, which we also shared - grilled hake, grilled lamb, and macaroni bolognese. Everything was excellent! We cleared the plates of everything. Amazing experience, and I highly recommend!

Chunks of deep fried fish laid on a bed of guacamole surrounded by dollops of green and white sauce make for a very surprising yet delicious dish (take my advice, try the green stuff...it's delicious!). With a decently sized menu, there will be no shortage of dishes to try. We elected to go for some Spanish classics and their featured dishes, which included their Creamy Rice with Lobster, Traditional Tripe Stew, and Aged Beer Rib-eye. The creamy rice with lobster is essentially a risotto, with the rice being cooked al dente. While the texture is nice, because of the smaller portion of lobster and the lack of flavor, by the end it feels like you're just left with a bowl of undercooked rice. The traditional tripe stew was quite good, with the beef being extremely tender and chewy. The rib-eye itself was a large cut, however, a good portion of the meat is fat. Additionally, it's only seasoned with a light touch of salt, so at the end of the day also lacking a bit. If you want to come to El Pimiento Verde, it's primarily for the ambience. The food itself is fine, though nothing to call home about. If you're short on time and looking for places to experience Spanish cuisine, this is probably one restaurant that can be skipped.
