    French toast bites

Came across this spot when attempting to go to Jim Thorpe but changed paths as it was too busy there and so glad we did. The space is so beautiful with tons of plants. Staff very welcoming. We had the bacon eggs Benedict and the French toast bites. Everything was delicious. The coffee was great. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Delicious food with a plant-loving earthy industrial vibe! Worth a visit if you're visiting Jim Thorpe (in Weissport). The service was more laid back but efficient and knowledgeable. The owners were helpful and wanted guests happy as well. We will definitely go again if in town!!

    Plants galore

Wow, Yelp does it again! The recommendations were on point. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so vibrant and inviting. I absolutely loved the added bonus of a plant shop right there in the venue. I had to hold myself back from grabbing plants before our cocktails even arrived--it was such a tempting experience! Good eats and cool vibes all around!

This place was awesome! Was traveling through PA while visiting family and found this spot! The vibe here was really cool with all the plants in the dining area. The cocktails here were great and the food was phenomenal! We started with the Bad Farms Cheese Curds, which tasted like funnel cake infused cheese curds. For our mains, my wife got the Mushroom French Dip and I got the Truffle Shuffle. Both were excellent. Finally, we decided to try the Earl Grey Creme Brulee. This creme brulee was so good I will be craving forever! The service here was great and we'd definitely come back next time we pass through the area. We're always on the search for great places that are vegetarian friendly and this checked all the boxes! It seems like they also have a nice private room for events, which would probably be great based on the food at drinks we had. Only tip I'd give people coming here is to take care in the parking lot depending on your car because the entire lot is gravel.

Shining Gem inside a converted mill. Enter to a lush plant life filled open atmosphere with large windows & repurposed decor providing a distinct quality menu. The Cheese Curds were amazing (next level delicious) & Pierogi were elevated homemade goodness. Alas, those all disappeared before I got pictures. Burger was massive and cooked as ordered. Entrees were good quality, but were lacking in portion size. Service was friendly & quick, though sometimes inattentive, but she was handling both interior & exterior tables...not easy. Couldn't have been happier with our choice as we passed through the Poconos! Antique Singer sewing machine steel bases with maple cutting board table tops were a nice touch. 4.5 Stars

do not book any kind of event here!! My fiance and I planned our microwedding here and were originally so excited to use the beautiful private event room with the rustic/farmhouse vibes. Unfortunately there were too many issues for us to feel safe hosting our big day here. The first part of the process was fine, they have many stipulations such as 100$/hr additional fee for moving tables as well as no outside drinks (these were listed in the event packet so I understood that). I had drove by the hofford mill back in September of 2025 and saw a "for sale" sign on it. I emailed the gorge to ask if this would affect our wedding in ANY WAY, they said no. I requested a call from the event coordinator a few months later (Feb) to iron final details out - in conversation she told me that the building had been purchased and that they were replacing all the tables/chairs, adding a window possibly, and possibly painting. This would completely alter the "vibe" of our wedding venue. This made my fiance and I feel extremely stressed and upset since we had already paid the deposit and finished our invites with all the info for the gorge on it for our guests. I emailed them and asked for a refund of our $500 deposit and listed the reasons as to why. They emailed back telling me that there were "no material changes to the venue, management, or your event reservation that would affect the function or availability of the space for your event." And refused the refund of our full amount stating that the wedding packet we originally got said non refundable... it didn't (see below images) I also had another packet and brochure from them, none of which said non-refundable. There also was NO CONTRACT, so no legal reason to hold the money. They offered a $250 refund as a goodwill gesture, however I explained that personally I believe we should still get our full refund due to the fact that no services were rendered and I did my due diligence in asking if anything would change from the sale of the building and they said no months ago. Very stressful and upsetting, has made the wedding planning process harder than it needed to be.

MUSHROOM MELT BURGER and truffle fries.

The food was DELICIOUS, the atmosphere charming and well decorated, and the staff was very accommodating towards our friends dog (a pitbull). They have outdoor seating for pets and their owners. The staff also gave us a water bowl for him. I got the truffle fries, mushroom burger, poutine, and cheese curds. All of it was amazing but my favorite was honestly the poutine! Amazing gravy and cheese ratio per fry. I'll be back!

This is such an absolute beautiful, magical fairyland! The plants inside .... They're all for sale! The food was delicious. We had filet mignon, burgers, French dip and everyone was happy. There were 6 of us for my father's birthday and we made reservations. Perfect size table, our service was great and I talked with the owner for a few minutes. What a nice lady!! I told her if I had a business, that's exactly how I would decorate it. Bravo!! Will be back for sure!!

Perogies . A few more of those stellar onions would have been perfect

We stopped here after we found out the nearby town we planned to go to was basically shut down for a witch's street festival! After our GPS gave us the runaround we finally found it and were very happy we did! The restaurant is in an old mill and there's a coffee shop in it as well as a brand new gift shop in the front of the building. There were beautiful plants hanging all around- made for a nice atmosphere. We were seated fairly quickly but then no one waited on us . After our server realized no one had waited on us she took over and did a great job. I think they are most likely short of help - like everyone else! We started with cocktails- I had a very lovely espresso martini and my husband had a bourbon pineapple smash. Both were quite good. We shared a Mediterranean salad that was delicious- it had a lemon mint vinaigrette that was amazing. He got the pork picatta that was really tasty. I had perogies that were really yummy - they could have used a few more of the onions on top, but I was very happy! I also got some fried shrimp and crab balls that were nice . Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again if I am in the area!

My family and I stumbled across The Gorge on our way through the Poconos and had a great time. Our server, Angela, was incredibly well versed in the menu and very friendly. She took my dad's corny jokes like a champ and remained nice and helpful the whole night. The food was marvelous and definitely surpassed our expectations for what Lehighton/Weissport area had to offer. I got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and loved it. They were generous with the chicken, the sauce was great, and the bread was fitting. I was also curious about their mac-n-cheese menu and ordered the pork mac and cheese. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Pork and Mac n Cheese doesn't isn't necessarily a natural pairing, but The Gorge made it work! I doubt I'll ever be in the area again, but if you are I would recommend giving it a go.

    5/14/22 interior - gorgeous!
    Jen H.

5/14/22 let me just say that my GPS had a hell of a time trying to find this place, and unfortunately the exterior of the building doesn't have great signage but what you will see is a sign pointing to the parking lot off of the main road, Bridge Street. My GPS kept taking me around in circles and I was ready to give up and I was actually on my way home and then I finally saw the parking lot. I'm glad I decided to turn around and pull in because it was a great experience. I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while I have an Instagram page where I have no friends, I just follow businesses and things that I'm interested in and Gorge is one of those places. And even though I don't drink I was really struck by the innovative and creative drinks that I've seen pictured on Gorge's Instagram. The food always looks so delicious when they show the weekend specials. I had made a reservation for a few weeks ago but unfortunately there was a family emergency and I had to cancel that reservation. Since I was in the area I thought it was a great time to try Gorge and I don't typically like to go to restaurants during peak time, so we went at around 4 PM. My husband and I opted to sit at the bar because we feel that you usually get better service at the bar as opposed to a table in our experiences. The bartender Lindsay was awesome! It was evident how much she really genuinely loved her job and she was very friendly and personable. I like the fact that she took pride in the restaurant and the food. When I requested suggestions she was very happy to direct me. I could tell that she was honest and I got a really good feeling from her. Another girl we were speaking to behind the bar was named Mariah and she was very sweet and kind. These girls made our experience highly excellent. We truly felt welcome thanks to their hospitality. It wasn't easy to make a decision on what to order because everything looked so mouthwatering we good. For an appetizer we opted to get the Irish eggrolls I chose that because I thought my husband would really like that a lot because of the brisket and sauerkraut that was in there. I really enjoyed it ask for the garlic aïoli sauce to enhance the flavor. Lindsay, our server and bartender, recommended the garlic aïoli sauce and it was stupendous I really thoroughly enjoyed this appetizer it was so good. My husband chose the French dip special that was really delicious it was served on a flatbread, almost like a Panini style with plenty of au jus. I chose something I typically would never order and it was a chicken sandwich called the Mac Millionaire. It was a delicious chunk of breaded chicken breast that was topped with macaroni and cheese onion straws which really seems like homemade fried onion rings, and some barbecue sauce. It was absolutely phenomenal we both enjoyed our sandwiches tremendously. I couldn't resist dessert, so I ordered their special puff pastry with blueberry compote and vanilla ice cream. The vanilla ice cream was from BAD Farms, that is the name of that business in Kempton. The one thing I learned is that this restaurant likes to feature local favorites, like that special ice cream I mentioned. They feature beers from local breweries, and they also offer wines from nearby Jim Thorpe. I love that pride in the community. The restaurant is within what used to be an old Silk Mill and there are some other businesses in there as well such as an ax throwing place (make reservations) and a coffee shop called uncommon grounds. Apparently there is some sort of a hostel where people can stay over if they're in the area enjoying the bike trails, I don't know much about the other businesses. I really can't wait to go back and I'm super excited to bring my family back to this wonderful establishment and I hope I am lucky enough to get a chance to sit with Lindsey and Mariah again. A resounding five star review!! If I could give 10 stars I would. The food quality, the service, the personality of our bartenders/servers, and the atmosphere is simply beautiful. I do think they grow their own spices and possibly some of their vegetables? But don't quote me on that. I saw quite a few plants being grown that I think were herbs or some kind of seasonings. The exterior of the building does no justice to the restaurant's interior. It is really beautiful it's sleek, modern, and clean. I love rocks and crystals and they have a display of those too.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.

The first thing that we noticed that was interesting was the eerie music playing. At first I thought it wasn't bad, but the longer we stayed the creepier the restaurant became. More people left and the unlit street outside was pretty creepy as well. Drinks were decent but service was surprisingly slow and seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday night which I thought was weird. Our appetizer was the melted mozzarella on focaccia with chimichurri and honey (too much of both). The bread was super soggy and cheese was half melted and wet as well. We decided to split the side of potatoes and the half chicken. Chicken was seasoned fine but the texture seemed almost raw. The potatoes presentation and taste were not great and there was not much flavor. Everything was wet in the worst way possible. The restaurant is tucked into the hand-built stone rowhouses, surrounded by vibrant colors, artwork, and even a few birds outside the windows. It caught my eye right away, and I'm glad it did. Note for diners: Moya is closed Monday-Wednesday, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. I visited on a very busy weekend in Jim Thorpe and managed to get seated around 4:30pm on Saturday without one, but the restaurant filled quickly and I think I got lucky. Inside, the space is eclectic and beautiful--rich colors on the walls, abstract art throughout (which I later learned is by the chef's wife, who co-owns the restaurant and has her studio in the same building). The atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable, and the quiet dining room was perfect for good conversation. Our total bill came to $95.90 before tip, and it was worth every penny. Moya's menu is designed for sharing, and that's exactly what we did. Drinks: Pineapple Cosmo ($13) - perfectly sweet without being over the top, even enjoyed by a bourbon drinker. Apple Brandy Sidecar ($14) - well-balanced and beautifully made. Plates we shared: Burrata ($18) - served warm on focaccia with an olive & herb tapenade. My first time trying burrata, and I loved it. The warmth was unexpected but wonderful, and the tapenade set it off perfectly. Fresh Gnocchi ($29) - with jumbo lump crab meat and fresh tomato cream sauce. The gnocchi were perfectly dense without being heavy, and the crab chunks were huge--bigger than the gnocchi themselves! So fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Prosciutto Salad ($18) - spinach, dried figs, gorgonzola, spiced candied nuts, balsamic glaze. Generous prosciutto on top, and the dried figs added such a clever texture and depth. A lighter dish that paired beautifully with the richness of the burrata and gnocchi. What stood out most about Moya's food was its simplicity. No over-complication, no excess of ingredients--just perfectly chosen flavors that worked in harmony and allowed each element to shine. Every dish felt thoughtful and intentional. Service was excellent--attentive without being intrusive. The bathrooms were clean, the vibe inside was intimate, and everything about the evening felt special. No on-site parking, but there's plenty of street and community parking nearby, and Jim Thorpe is a lovely walking town. My suggestion? Spend the afternoon strolling through town, enjoy dinner at Moya, then take a romantic walk down to the train tracks and water afterward. Moya isn't an everyday dinner spot for me, but it's absolutely on my list for celebrating something special--or just celebrating each other.
