If time for the repair is not an issue, he is great. Reasonably priced and he gets the job done and the clock ticking.

It is a small place, basically a home, and when you walk in there are many older clocks for sale. The place is run by one person and you can see that he stays busy with all the clocks and watches behind the counter. He took a look and said it needed cleaning for sure and after a cleaning readjusted. Both things I had seen and read about on the internet. The service for that is over $300. He said it would be around two months for it to be finished and asked that I don't call to check on the progress because he is the one that answers the calls and that slows him up. He is nice and answered my questions and didn't rush me out. He said the cleaning doesn't take to long but the adjustments are done over a period of days to make sure the clock keeps its time. I would recommend the place if you have the time to wait. If I remember I will update this when I get the clock back.

Unfortunately, Frankie quit. And the old man has become unreliable. He never answers the phone, and keeps the shop door locked when the business is supposed to be open. I suspect About Time clock shop will be going out of business soon. Take your business elsewhere.

Other watch places quoted me $35-$48 bucks to change the battery, so I was shocked when Fred gave me a quote on Yelp for $12 bucks! I went to the store without an appointment, Fred welcomed me warmly, and even though 2 other customers came in, I was in and out of there in under 8 minutes! (He was able to help them too.) Aside from the great price and friendly attitude, Fred also noticed that there was some rust in the mechanism restricting the movement and he cleaned it out and added lubricant without even charging me. Really glad my old watch is working good as new again and am thankful Fred made my experience as smooth as possible. Thank you, Fred!!

I came back an hour later to pick up my watch and voila the watch was adjusted to be more accurate. Great! However, it was clear that in opening the case back, his tool slipped and caused deep scratching in the case back. When it was brought back to him, fred says when a case back is opened, some damage should be expected! I certainly did not expect damage. After insisting, he polished off the back but the scratches were too deep. Fred then says the deeper scratches weren't caused by him. Now you can trust me or not that fred caused the damage. But Id heavily suggest taking a picture of your stuff prior to work. Because if something happens, he certainly wont do anything about it. And I no longer think he's honest. He should remember his tool slipping and been upfront. Also they have case back opening tools that don't damage the watch. Id suggest fred look into buying that
