I had a very quirky handmade specialty clock that needed a new clock mechanism. They worked to make the hand-cut hands and pendulum work with a newer mechanism -- and even rebalanced the clock so that the pendulum would work more consistently! Would very much recommend if you want a job done right and aren't too cheap to pay for an expert's time. read more

Friendly service and knowledgeable . Owner is great. It's a cozy store with quality items. Great for watch batteries! David W read more

The owners are extremely pleasant and thorough. My watch battery was replaced once free of charge as a courtesy. My favorite thing is that the location is close to the aquarium so a visit can all be a part of a lovely afternoon . read more

Very nice, accommodating, and very carefully with my watch. I also felt the pricing was very reasonable.

I was tasked with getting my husband's watch a new battery - we just moved here...McPeek's was closest to our house so that's where we went . The proprietor is kind and friendly - the battery replacement cost more than it does in our old hometown but I am glad to support this business. He used a Swiss battery and said if the watch stopped working - bring it back. The battery is guaranteed to work for 2 years. Love this shop and will continue to patronize it - my husband's other watch needs a repair so we'll be back soon! read more

Loved the service! Pricing is a bit iffy. I got my battery replaced elsewhere for a little less. Overall lovely place :) I would go back! (But also compare prices with others) read more

They said batteries for my four watches would be completed in one day. Went back the next day, and they "opps, forgot to do those." 12 hours later they "completed" the battery replacements, except for ne battery which they didn't have so they substituted another which doesn't work. And they are VERY expensive. Will not repeat this experiebnce. read more

Such nice people. They are quite busy so adjust your time expectations accordingly. Excellent work

Service for battery replacement in a watch was exorbitant. Will never do business with them again.

Worst business ever. Saw a bracelet, was quoted $300, went back next day with cash and now they want $790. What kind of business does that? One that preys on someone who wants something by coming back and changing the price. Greedy snake. Went to get battery changed on a watch and they wanted $29, which is steep also. read more

I had an issue with this watch repair firm but the owner called and resolved it. I appreciated hearing directly from the owner.

Went in for help with a watch buckle that had come off. Says he couldn't help me. This is fine. But you don't have to be rude about it. I asked a question about how I might get it fixed which really annoyed him. He looked bothered that I even came into the store. I certainly will never be back. read more

My watch batteries died too soon: one within a month (while I was traveling), and the second within 10 months. My new band was ordered in the wrong metal (watch is silver, latch pieces are gold on the new wristband). They couldn't get me out of their store fast enough, because I obviously made that mistake myself? read more

I will not go back for watch battery purchases and installations. They are very expensive. Cheaper to buy a new watch.

bob Mcpeek and his wife rely on customer service and it shows that they work at it by standing behind their work. Selection of hadley roma and other watch bracelets and today i got a jade ladies ring nice stone for only 44.00 w/ sterling setting and a tiffany fouled Anchor sterling sandwich pin for 35 paired with a small girls old vintage turquise stone set into sterling mount .Quite the bargian with sterling prices booming!!!Bob has a card where you get quantity buy on battery replacements. nice folks!! read more

Fast and honest service. Learned a lot about my watch and turned out nothing was wrong, just dead rechargeable battery. He didn't charge me anything and installled the original battery I brought with me. read more

Great experience having my clock restored. They discussed with me the desired results vs expectations in advance and helped me get to what I wanted. Great customer service, fast turnaround, and great price! read more

Great service. Same day while I waited and fair prices!

Why didn't I read the reviews before going here?? $130 to get 4 watch batteries changed!? Jesus... This place is a rip off... every where else is half the price to do the same thing!! Also, the parking situation here is horrific.. shooting myself in the foot for not doing my research before coming here... rip off! People are nice that work here but not nice enough to pay double for someone who can do the same thing up the street.... read more

What a joke. Don't come here for battery replacement. Last Friday I gave them my watch, and they immediately took a large magnification glass and looked at the face. I knew immediately that this was a scam. I trusted their sign, and made a special trip for this task. They wanted $27.50 and I told them we paid $10 in the past. The person told me that the screws had springs and it was a difficult task. B.S. I misplaced my precision set of screwdrivers and purchased an inexpensive set to remove the four small Phillips screws. This watch uses a common battery, CR2032 3v Lithium. I purchased one at my local drug store for under five bucks. As for the spring loaded screws, the watch has two small springs that rest against the back cover for making a connection to the heart rate monitor feature. They didn't fly out, as they are fastened into the watch mechanism. They can't fly out, as I was told. Unfortunately I didn't look up this business on Yelp, before I made this useless trip. Look at review dated 1/12/2016 read more

This is a review of their service, not of their sales. I went in with a dive watch with a dead battery. I wanted to get the battery replaced and the watch resealed. Their price? ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. I took the same watch to Ocean Treasures in PG, and got the battery replaced and the watch resealed (so I can dive with it again). Their price? ELEVEN DOLLARS. I might consider going to McExpensive's to look for a watch, but I would never get it serviced here. read more

What a great shop....Very helpful people.....Very accommodating......Too bad so many folks choose to slam this business because they are cheapI don't want to pay for quality help.....You get what you pay for folks...And McPeek's delivers..... read more

I'll be looking for a fair priced place, the next time I need anything done with my watches.... Why? Because I had the battery replaced for two of my watches and it was pretty expensive for what it was. $50+ for new batteries?!! O_O Probably not coming back to this place. Thank You for my new batteries. read more

Was it pricey to get my battery replaced on my watch? Kinda ($26), but it came with a two year warranty. Did I receive exemplary customer service? Absolutely! Robert (owner) offered me an opportunity to join their battery replacement club (can't remember the details of it now), but wasn't pushy about selling things. Overall, I got my battery replaced and it was within walking distance of work. read more

Just like everyone said. DON'T BUY HERE !!.. They will charge you over $12.00 for a $1.00 batterie. Just don't, keep looking. I'll replace your watch batterie for you just so you don't get ripped off. NO NO NO .. read more

I didn't write a review, for a long while, because I didn't go in here. I needed to have my watch battery replaced, so my husband went in for me. He took forever, it seemed. Turns out my husband said he enjoyed talking to the owner about jewelry, and prices and stories about how a lot of customers sell him watches. I thought it was a bit expensive to get my battery replaced, but nothing that made me feel ripped off. read more

I do not know how this person stays in business, on 3 separate occasions he has not only failed to fix my clock but has taken from 6 weeks to 3 months. He fails to return calls and his stated office hours are a joke. read more

This place is pricy, takes a long time, and the battery that I replaced in my watch didn't last long. The people are friendly, but that's not enough to make me go back. read more

I had the battery of a simple digital watch replace here - for $35!!! I love patronizing local businesses but this is a shop I will never visit again. Besides overcharging me for a task that probably took him 3-4 minutes (max!), the owner was rude and insulting when I asked if he could set the watch to the correct time. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! read more

For those of you complaining about time...drop your watch off and make an appointment to pick it up. That what I did...$22 to replace the battery in my Marc Jacobs watch. read more

After the really bad service the first time, the watch he "fixed" stopped running 2 days later.

Outrageous pricing! I had the owner take 2 links out of my watch band and he charged me $49.50 for the 5 minute job! His reasoning for the high price: You can come back and have it readjusted for free if needed. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!! They charged me $35 for a battery which worth $10. Robert knows nothing about your watch warranty and he just over charge you triple. Find another place cuz they suck. read more

I was told a battery replacement would cost $26.95. When I came back 10 minutes later, I was informed my watch was no longer working. The man behind the counter also told me he'd left a new battery inside, though he didn't charge me. This didn't add up and I went to Suzuki's, near the Monterey Post Office, where the owner installed a new battery for 10 dollars and my watch works fine. I know where I will take my business in the future. read more

Same problem as most others in this review... this guy is never around the store, and it cost $26 for a battery replacement. Will never come back again. read more

Worst experience I've ever had with a business and I'm still experiencing it. Dropped off two watches for new batteries. I'm quoted with a price twice as expensive as other local competitors. His rationale was "it's because I'm expensive". Well ok then, I thought he must be good to explain the pricing. He says he will have them ready by tomorrow. I've been calling them now for three days and no one answers. Also two days I've driven to the stores location and it's not even open. Today I go to the store for the third straight day. Now there is a taped sign on the door saying they will be closed for 3 more days due to a family emergency. Something isn't right with this place. It has a bad feel/vibe. And my $2,000+ watch is being held hostage along with the watch I wanted fixed for my girlfriends birthday. Now her birthday has passed, it made me look bad and now I'm afraid something else may go wrong. I mean I'm talking about replacing just TWO batteries! They could have called me to tell me they can't work on my watches for a while. I would have gladly picked them up to get the work done somewhere else. Oh yeah and he said he would call me the day after I dropped them off, needless to say he did not call. I'm close to taking this guy to small claims court. I have all the time in the world to take down a business that takes advantage of people. I'll write another review if the experience changes. But it's highly doubtful. I don't trust this place with any of my property. Can't wait to get my favorite watch back:( read more

A little strange place, even though the sign points to the sale of jewelry and watch repair when you enter the store it's hard to tell what type of business you just entered. Underneath the counter I found it a little odd to see nutritional supplements. Going back to the watch repair, it costs $23 to replace a battery, which I found quiet pricey. Additionally we asked to reduce the size of the band of one of the watches we dropped off, however instead of reducing the band we were charged for the replacement of the battery of a brand new watch. read more

I'm fairly certain this guy is on something. Super teeny pupils, talked and talked and talked as soon as I walked in. I said three pretty every day sentences, and he stated, "Look I'm not here to debate with you." WTF?? Simple as that. Never again. read more

Went to this shop to get the battery on my Swiss watch replaced. Can you say STICKER SHOCK, really expensive and unreasonable. Also, do not turn your back or leave your item out of sight. Do not come back in 10 or 20 minutes. That's not normal! The watch ran of course, but pricey. read more

$31.75 and 20 minutes to replace a watch battery!? Haha, yeah right...I could buy the tool and do it myself for less!
