I was tasked with getting my husband's watch a new battery - we just moved here...McPeek's was closest to our house so that's where we went . The proprietor is kind and friendly - the battery replacement cost more than it does in our old hometown but I am glad to support this business. He used a Swiss battery and said if the watch stopped working - bring it back. The battery is guaranteed to work for 2 years. Love this shop and will continue to patronize it - my husband's other watch needs a repair so we'll be back soon! read more

They said batteries for my four watches would be completed in one day. Went back the next day, and they "opps, forgot to do those." 12 hours later they "completed" the battery replacements, except for ne battery which they didn't have so they substituted another which doesn't work. And they are VERY expensive. Will not repeat this experiebnce. read more

What a joke. Don't come here for battery replacement. Last Friday I gave them my watch, and they immediately took a large magnification glass and looked at the face. I knew immediately that this was a scam. I trusted their sign, and made a special trip for this task. They wanted $27.50 and I told them we paid $10 in the past. The person told me that the screws had springs and it was a difficult task. B.S. I misplaced my precision set of screwdrivers and purchased an inexpensive set to remove the four small Phillips screws. This watch uses a common battery, CR2032 3v Lithium. I purchased one at my local drug store for under five bucks. As for the spring loaded screws, the watch has two small springs that rest against the back cover for making a connection to the heart rate monitor feature. They didn't fly out, as they are fastened into the watch mechanism. They can't fly out, as I was told. Unfortunately I didn't look up this business on Yelp, before I made this useless trip. This is a review of their service, not of their sales. I went in with a dive watch with a dead battery. I wanted to get the battery replaced and the watch resealed. Their price? ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. I took the same watch to Ocean Treasures in PG, and got the battery replaced and the watch resealed (so I can dive with it again). Their price? ELEVEN DOLLARS. I might consider going to McExpensive's to look for a watch, but I would never get it serviced here. read more

Worst experience I've ever had with a business and I'm still experiencing it. Dropped off two watches for new batteries. I'm quoted with a price twice as expensive as other local competitors. His rationale was "it's because I'm expensive". Well ok then, I thought he must be good to explain the pricing. He says he will have them ready by tomorrow. I've been calling them now for three days and no one answers. Also two days I've driven to the stores location and it's not even open. Today I go to the store for the third straight day. Now there is a taped sign on the door saying they will be closed for 3 more days due to a family emergency. Something isn't right with this place. It has a bad feel/vibe. And my $2,000+ watch is being held hostage along with the watch I wanted fixed for my girlfriends birthday. Now her birthday has passed, it made me look bad and now I'm afraid something else may go wrong. I mean I'm talking about replacing just TWO batteries! They could have called me to tell me they can't work on my watches for a while. I would have gladly picked them up to get the work done somewhere else. Oh yeah and he said he would call me the day after I dropped them off, needless to say he did not call. I'm close to taking this guy to small claims court. I have all the time in the world to take down a business that takes advantage of people. I'll write another review if the experience changes. But it's highly doubtful. A little strange place, even though the sign points to the sale of jewelry and watch repair when you enter the store it's hard to tell what type of business you just entered. Underneath the counter I found it a little odd to see nutritional supplements. Going back to the watch repair, it costs $23 to replace a battery, which I found quiet pricey. Additionally we asked to reduce the size of the band of one of the watches we dropped off, however instead of reducing the band we were charged for the replacement of the battery of a brand new watch. read more

I had two watches that stopped working. I kept winding them, but alas I needed batteries (I was hoping not to have to try to figure out the batteries). Since I knew I did not want to try to buy a battery and put in myself, I was trying to figure out where to go to have this done, then thought of McPeek's Timepiece, they must do it! Was in the area so stopped by today around 2:00 pm and the owner was there. Although there were 2-3 other people who came in while I was there the owner said he could replace right away so I waited. It took just a few minutes and I had two working watches again. I see in other reviews people had complained about the price, but I guess for me I just wanted to have this done quickly, easily and with the confidence of someone who knew what they were doing, so for me that was not an issue. I enjoyed speaking to the owner, and I think this is a great local business. read more
