And a special SHOUT OUT to the young man at the PLUOTS. And I apologize, I even repeated your name when I said thank you, but I'm a lady in my 50s and it's shot out of my head. This young man helped me find the right pluots, when I explained what I was looking for. AND this next part may sound trivial, but it's not. My total was $5.38 (I think). As I handed the young man a $20, I went looking for a dollar so he could give me $15 and change, thinking they probably run out of dollar bills. And as I went for the dollar, this young man asked me if I could give him a dollar. WHAT!?! He knew that if I gave him $21 he could give me a $10, $5 and some change! Again, I say, this may seem trivial, but everywhere we go, young adults do not know this! Making change is like a new language to them. If they punch it into a computer before you've given your change, it confuses them. Sad, but 99% often the truth. And this young man renewed my faith, not just in the young people of today, but the parenting of our young people. THANK YOU!!

I come here every time we are in town. The are three specific people I visit. The hummus guy…read more(hummus-Jalapeño and garlic are the standout favs in my family), The Wise Goat (probiotic salsa (she has a bunch of other pro and prebiotic products), and the Kitchen Table Cultures (bone broth). This time around we picked up some berries that didn't disappoint. They have a lot to offer and some stands have long lines (I assume that's a good sign). What I love...no dogs allowed in the market, it makes the ambiance more pleasing (for me personally). Worth a stop for sure. The only downside...no coffee dealers but then again, I go to ACME in seaside for the best coffee in the area.

Food - the goods at this market look spectacular. They are grown very locally...just leave town…read moreand you'll see where. Service - it's a Farmers Market. They're all the same. Ambiance - it's at the Del Monte Shopping Center parking lot. A mall. The only mall for miles and miles. (Carmel doesn't count. Maybe Seaside/Sand City is getting bigger and Salinas is a world apart) There are others such as the one in downtown Monterey à la Alvarado Street but this looks to be the one in the mall parking lot. Luckily this mall isn't full the majority of the time (if ever?) because the parking lot is enormous and provides enough space for vendors. Little pricey for a farmers market. However, I did end up purchasing some salmon fresh off the boat, brought it home and cooked it that evening. ~$30 per pound so like I said, a little pricey. But dang it was good. The "Del Monte Market" location and the "Monterey" market are the same place according to the website. The parking lot of the mall. Who knows...

This was a classic New England-style chowder done right. It was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. The sourdough bread bowl was perfectly crisp on the outside while still soft enough to enjoy with the chowder. Easily one of the top three clam chowders I've ever had. The New England Lobster Roll was a pleasant surprise. I'm usually not the biggest lobster fan, but I genuinely enjoyed this one. The bread was soft and buttery, and the lobster had a nice savory flavor with just a subtle hint of sweetness that balanced everything well. If you're a lobster fan, or even if you're on the fence like I was. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. The only disappointment was the garlic bread. It was unfortunately over-toasted and very hard, so I'd probably skip it next time. Service was fast, efficient, and attentive throughout the meal. The restaurant was clean with a casual atmosphere, making it a great spot for a quick bite with family or friends. Overall, I'd happily come back, especially for that incredible clam chowder.
