Dr. Goldberg saved my young daughter's face from having a noticeable scar in November 2021. She fell on the school playground and had a deep cut on the outside of her face that extended to the inside of her mouth. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, 2019 and needed the lump removed and my implants, and was referred to Dr. Michael Stuntz and Dr. Goldberg to remove my breast implants. Dr. David Goldberg was referred by a close friend who has known him for over 10 years and had nothing but great things to say about his plastic surgery skills and repeated excellent results. He also did surgery on my aunt in the year of 2000 where she had her breasts augmented. Between the two recommendations I was familiar with and others who had told me the same things. I decided to have the surgery done. For several years I have had breasts that have sagged significantly and has left me very self-conscious. One breast was lower than the other making the problem even more exacerbating and pronounced. My breasts were a D cup size. The solution to correct my breasts to look what I consider normal seemed to not be attainable with normal corrective measures. Made appointment to have Dr. Goldberg give me an initial consultation to determine what I wanted as an end result and what could be done to accomplish my goals. I assumed I would need to have implants to hold my breasts up properly. The Goldberg staff are seasoned professionals with the ability to go over any questions I had prior to the initial consult providing me with a plethora of information and were very helpful on getting the paperwork finalized. The actual consultation was very enlightening with Dr. Goldberg's recommendation to do a partial reduction, relocation of nipples and realignment of my breasts to a normal height WITHOUT implants or the additional cost of implants. He had total confidence in the procedure be the surgery of choice for me and explained it was less invasive than I thought. His staff gave me the estimated cost along with more information about the procedure. After absorbing everything I decided to have the procedure done by Dr. Goldberg. I originally setup the surgery to happen in April but later had to postpone until October because of my own conflicts. His staff again accommodated my needs and request without a problem. I had a pre-surgery physical and another visit with Dr. Goldberg to go over the procedure with me and to answer my additional questions. My actual surgery was exactly as I was told. During surgery a cyst was discovered and was removed from my right breast as part of the surgery which he took upon himself to remove. My first follow-up appointment was the next afternoon. Follow-ups occurred frequently and at no additional cost to me. The first time I saw my breasts after surgery I felt complete and no longer felt insecure and was comfortable in my own skin for the first time in my life. My breasts were swollen and had incision marks but they were still BEAUTIFULL to me. I am beyond happy with the results. DO NOT GO TO HIM FOR EXPLANT REMOVAL. After months of illness from BII I went to him. I did extensive research and my first question was if he would do an En bloc-capsulectomy- this is the gold standard and should be done in all explant cases when possible. He assured me he would. If he had said no or maybe, I would have walked out and found another surgeon. He was very patient and kind and I booked the surgery date. Prior to surgery I told his office manager I wanted to keep the old implants and send them to a lab for testing. This would help me recover if I knew what I was sick from- mold, titanium, etc. She said she would tell him. I was told my surgery would last several hours. When I woke up in the recovery room my husband said it was only about an hour. My heart sank, I knew that was not possible for an enbloc done correctly. The tissue around the old capsule needs to be scraped to try to get all the chemicals out of the body and even into the arm pits and down by the ribs. The next morning he had me go to his office all groggy. I stated I wanted to keep the drains as long as possible. The normal amount of time is 7-10 days. They drain any chemicals left behind out of your body. As I was talking, his assistant just pulled them out. No asking, no telling me! I asked to see my implants. He told me he threw them away and showed me a photo on his cell phone. They could have been anyone's implants and on a cell phone. He did not even write down the serial number, so I could see if they were recalled. I left very upset. At my next follow up, I wanted to talk with him alone for a few minutes to be clear on what he did do. I waited an hour and a half, while he shuffled patients in for fillers and botox. He was clearly avoiding me and I had paid him, so I was of no use to him. When I did finally see him, he gave me two minutes and was standing with the door open. He said he did not want to hurt me by scraping and did not do the enbloc. I left shocked and very aware I was scammed and had a difficult road ahead. Fast forward three years later. Still dealing with rashes, pain and blotches that look like chemical burns under one breast. Have been advised the only way to heal is to go back in to surgery and have a honest, competent surgeon scrape tissue and send it off for testing. He assured me he left no residue, with no scraping, and said if I found any in an MRI he would go back in. Even I knew that an MRI would not show chemical residue on body tissue. He assumes far too little of his patients. I requested all of my records, and there were no photos of the implants, no serial number for them (also suggested) and no mention or reason of choosing not to do an Enbloc. I now have to go through the stress and pain of another surgery and pay out of pocket once again. For thousands of dollars, he cut me open, popped them out and sewed me up in less than an hour. Go to a surgeon who will do it correctly the first time and stand by their work. I cannot undo the pain, frustration and illness that he left me with, his complete lack of respect, the thousands of dollars I paid him, or the fact that I need another surgery now, but I can prevent someone else from having to go through this. read more

I honestly cannot believe the disappointment and lack of professionalism at this place. I was scheduled to receive a breast reduction in December of 2013. Not only did it take 8 months to even schedule because the insurance was "supposed to approve it" but they somehow lost the pictures of my visit too. I live in Los Angeles and my parents live in Monterey County and had already asked for the time off in advance, it gets worse. I finally was able to get a call from this place and get told the insurance approved the surgery so it can get booked and they schedule it for December 19th. On December 18, the receptionist calls and says, "I was out of town for a couple of days and left a note but I guess no one scheduled the surgery." I already was at work ready to drive to monterey county right after and she calls and says that. So we go back and forth over and over until she speaks to my mother later on. I'm 20 years old and under my parent's insurance and another lady goes, "I don't know whether you are coming with your daughter tomorrow or not but make sure she has the $7,500" and my mother says, "Isn't that why we waited 8 months for insurance?" and the lady goes, "We don't take insurance.".......KIDDING ME? 8 months later and your going to tell us that. This is a joke. Also the receptionists were really damn rude. I don't remember the elder lady's name or maybe she wasn't elder maybe she smoked too many cigarettes but she was the rudest of them all. You would think at a fancy place like this they would know true customer service but this was just wrong. The ladies sounded old enough to have good experience on how to treat a customer and this was ridiculous. DO NOT GO HERE. they do not care for your procedure or make you feel comfortable whatsover. I was barely told of the process at all. SO i went to a new surgeon in Santa Cruz and meet her once and she's ready to schedule it next week. Not waiting 8 months for nothing. And if any of the receptionists are reading this I want to you thank you for your disgusting ways of handling business because whether I was paying with insurance or out of pocket I still should be treated just as equally as anyone else. Thank you for having me waste 8 months of continuous back problems and pain for a surgery that I thought was worth waiting for, instead of actually never happening. STAY AWAY from Dr David Goldberg...he's a rip off artist. I went to this doctor in Monterey for a simple IPL and a few shots of Botox and fillers. He was a super nice guy, great office staff. After meeting and talking to him,...he had me sold, great personality, offered a few procedures that I would have gone back to him for....BUT... I've had 15 IPL's over the years. I know all about getting a good one and getting a bad one. His office told me it was $700.00 for doing my face, neck, chest and hands. I pay $500 for my regular doctors in Orange County and Palm Desert. In addition, Medicare pays for them after age 65 for pre cancer treatment. After the IPL procedure, he gave me a few shots of Botox and fillers. Normally, for his services I would pay somewhere between $1200-$1600.00. I got up to the front desk to pay my bill and it was the total bait and switch. My bill was .....FORTY TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS! By the time I got home, I had the worst bruises I've ever had from any procedure I've ever had done and I've had many. In addition, I could tell when he was jamming in the shots, I could hear the corpuscles burst ...I knew I was going to be bruised but geezus...never dreamed I would have 7 deep dark black bruises that lasted 3 weeks. On top of that I had absolutely NO RESULTS from the IPL...no redness whatsoever, and I didn't peal even the slightest over the next week. On top of that, when the areas he gave me shots in healed, I am now left with hard knots in my face like bumps under my skin where he put the shots in. I went by his office the next day to show them what a mess they had made of my face and the office staff looked stunned and took pictures to show the doctor. They wanted me to come back and see the doctor. REALLY, why waste my time and exactly for what purpose...so he could profess what a great doctor he was. He called me the next day and stood firmly behind his GREAT work, bragged for 5 minutes what a fabulous doctor he was and had been doing it for over 20 years. I told him to look at the pictures his staff had taken of all the bruising...no comment. I told him I had absolutely not one bit of a result from an IPS...he told me that he had informed me that he had do to a series of IPL's for results. What bs...I get them every 3-4 months, I turn red and peal...NOPE...this doctor is all about the WHOLLY DOLLAR. No other doctor I've been to ever told me I would need multiple treatments to see any results. Ive' had 2 bad IPL's out of 15. One from DermX. When I called Derm X and told them I got no result, they explained that lasers had to be turned regularly and sometimes need a tuning. They insisted I returned and did another fabulous IPS at no charge. With Dr "God" Goldberg (what he thinks of himself),...he wanted me to return only to charge me another fee. I would NEVER go back to this fraud. I'm a golfer and play team golf. I sat with the team ladies with my bruised face 2 days out and listened to 3 other ladies from Monterey Pennisula Country Club, TEHAMA CC, and QUAIL CC who all said the same thing about Dr Goldberg. They too had horrible or no results and got the same bs from the doctor when they confronted him. He told them come back, I'll redo you...for another fee. One of the ladies did go back for a re-do not knowing he was going to charge her again. He doesn't stand behind his work...its all about the dollars with this guy. Good luck ladies...STAY AWAY. Recently got Juvaderm injections under eye and in upper lip. Dr. Goldberg, whom I have a secret crush on was great! Gentle, nice, complimentary and handsome as always. His staff is very attentive and helpful. The price is steep $620 for one syringe but you pay for what you get, and when it comes to needles and chemicals being shot into my undereyes and lips, well I'm not up for taking chances and neither should you, so go with the best. read more

Dr Goldberg was the on call surgeon when I was involved in an accident that required a plastic surgeon. I was appalled by his HORRIFIC bedside manner and ego. His office failed to return numerous calls to schedule my follow up appointment. In fact they NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I would never recommend this clinic or doctor. In my experience with plastic surgeons, this is the worst. I was apparently too vague in my initial review so let me remind Dr. Goldberg of the specifics of my treatment. When I asked for general anesthesia Dr. Goldberg said no. Then I asked for something to calm my anxiety before having four deep and severe laceration to my face sewn up, he agreed to Ativan. But instead of waiting for the anesthesiologist to administer it Dr. Goldberg went at my face repeatedly with a needle of Lidocaine. I am not sure how that constitutes exceptional care or professional manner. Additionally I was VERY clear in my ONE conversation w/your office that I was able to be flexible for my follow up appointment and then never heard back, even after repeated voicemails. My mother was a patient of Dr. Goldberg and had a very very bad experience with him. His bedside manners are bad. He is rude and unprofessional. I understand that UCLA is a teaching hospital, but when the doctor came into the room we were in he didn't ask if it was okay for the interns to be in the room with us and he didn't introduce them to us. When the appointment with him was over he told the intern to "practice his Spanish with us." That was uncalled for, for I am a Spanish teacher at a high school. Dr. Goldberg should be the one practicing his Spanish and his manners with the patients. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE. My mother and I were very upset at that visit. Had a surgery, mini-face lift, and Dr. Goldberg made a terrible mistake. Left me with wide scars and uneven ears. When I continued to ask him why was I looking like that, he rudely raised his voice and said he had made a mistake and that was all. He then told me he did not want to see me again. This was about three months after the surgery and I thankfully found another doctor to do the follow-up. All this marketing he does about caring for his patients and how competent he is is a load of crap. Now I have to wait a year before I can have another surgery to try to fix what he did to me.
