Frankly, the first older gentleman at the entrance didn't want to sell me rocks and directed me straight to the CPO section in the back... but that was where I met Clay. He immediately introduced himself to me and my wife and from there took the time to go over all the watches we were interested in. He was sincere, honest, and motivated during our meet and I knew he was a direct reflection of the business he was part of. Having been to alot of ADs back in LA, it's almost rare to have genuine hospitality and conversations. It was night and day for me coming to a truly family owned dealer where the staff want to make relationships-it was more than experience I felt, it was culture. So if it was refreshing to see Keeza's smile, where she even stopped working to come over and chat. I work in the area, but hardly stop in at the carmel shops. Since I've had the creative bug myself lately Keeza and I chatted about how she got started making some of the beautiful jewelry on display in the shop as an apprentice under Robin. Of note are the pieces made from local sea glass. You can even bring in a piece of sea glass for them and they will make a custom piece of jewelry of your liking. How cool is that! Other jewelry pieces are created using Big Sur jade, gemstones, and shells. I made the mistake of not knowing anything about opals before buying my ring on a whim during a wedding anniversary trip. I made several attempts to contact the business for a copy of the GIA report that I can't seem to find (perhaps they never gave it to me, perhaps I misplaced it). GIA reports don't list origin of the gem so I'm not sure it would be very helpful anyway. The first time I called and asked for a copy of the report, told me they'd get it to me in two weeks, but never called me back. I then tried to contact them via their website contact form and they never replied. Since then when I call, no one picks up. I would like to give these guys a chance to make things right and at least provide me with the information they promised me. They have my phone number. Maybe they will see this and reach out? I don't hate my ring, I just hate that they initially fleeced me and are now avoiding me. Yes, it's a jewelry store in an overpriced tourist town but still I expect transparency regarding my purchase. Buyer beware.

He also discussed a frequent customer that runs a corporation (I won't mention which company for their own privacy), I assume, to further disclose how their patrons are wealthy. Yikes. Throughout this, he would not stop engaging us and he made it very difficult to leave. If you thought we couldn't afford anything in your store, why constantly engage us in a one-sided dialogue? The other workers were also deep in conversation in front of a few of their display cases, blocking them from our line of sight. There was plenty of room to stand elsewhere. What a great sales tactic. It was just an all around strange experience. The items were all fine - not my style, but reasonably someone else's. There's a spring-loaded bracelet that I was almost tempted by, but my goal was to just get out of the establishment. Make sure to only show up if you're flashing designer items or ooze generational wealth out of your pores. Otherwise, based on another review I read and my own personal opinion, you'll be Pretty Woman'd.
