I brought in a ring I inherited from my late grandfather and they did not disappoint. They did a free quick cleaning of it within 5 minutes of me walking in the door. After that they assessed the ring further and quoted me to do a resizing, a thorough cleaning and overall maintenance. I agreed for the work to be done, they took a picture of the ring, printed it out and handed it to me along with a receipt. A little less that two weeks later I got a call that the work on my ring was finished. I picked it up and couldn't believe it was the same ring I dropped off! It look gorgeous and fit wonderfully. Very happy with the work and price. I would recommend them to anyone looking to alter or maintain their priceless sentimental jewelry. My bride's two-day-old wedding ring was chafing her finger due to an unfinished edge that the designer in another country left on the ring. We needed a jeweler (not just a jewelry store!) to buff the edge of the ring. We knew we were in the right place as soon as we walked in the front door. The jewelry design workshop behind the glass window was almost as big as the retail shop. Two jewelers were busy designing and making beautiful jewelry-their designs are truly gorgeous.. Kay is the best! And every time we've seen him (over the past 20+ years) , either to buy or not, he is always friendly, helpful, full of great ideas, listens carefully and is acutely responsive! When my husband wanted to design a ring approximating an antique $20K ring I had been thinking about for a couple of years (from another store) he and Kay put their heads together and came up with a beautiful design, let me pick out the stone and Kay asked me to let him choose the triangular diamonds to complete the design. I trusted him to do that! And it was the most gorgeous ring EVER!! I cannot say enough about Mr. K and how grateful my fiancée and I were for his generosity and expertise. I decided to propose to my now fiancée in Carmel and had underestimated the size of the ring. In her excitement from the proposal she forced the ring onto her finger and could not get it off. So there we were, standing on Carmel beach as a newly engaged couple, and my fiancée's ring finger was swelling up and in pain. Neither of us wanted to damage the ring but we knew it had to be taken off before it caused her any serious discomfort. We found the highest rated Carmel jeweler on Yelp and walked into Mr. K's shop. He could not have done a better job of calming us down and taking care of the situation. He poured us each a glass of wine, cut the ring off of her finger, and then spent the next two hours sizing it properly so that my fiancée could wear her new engagement ring during the remainder of our trip. We walked into his shop frantic and upset, and left two hours later ready to celebrate our engagement. He honestly saved our engagement weekend. When we got back to Chicago we showed the ring to our jeweler and she was extremely impressed with the work Mr. K had done. She was initially worried when I told her that a jeweler in Carmel had cut off the ring, but upon seeing his work she was thrilled. The ring was not damaged in the slightest. I cannot thank Mr. K enough and I know that I will purchase pieces from him in the future.
