Frankly, the first older gentleman at the entrance didn't want to sell me rocks and directed me straight to the CPO section in the back... but that was where I met Clay. He immediately introduced himself to me and my wife and from there took the time to go over all the watches we were interested in. He was sincere, honest, and motivated during our meet and I knew he was a direct reflection of the business he was part of. Having been to alot of ADs back in LA, it's almost rare to have genuine hospitality and conversations. It was night and day for me coming to a truly family owned dealer where the staff want to make relationships-it was more than experience I felt, it was culture. I made the mistake of not knowing anything about opals before buying my ring on a whim during a wedding anniversary trip. I made several attempts to contact the business for a copy of the GIA report that I can't seem to find (perhaps they never gave it to me, perhaps I misplaced it). GIA reports don't list origin of the gem so I'm not sure it would be very helpful anyway. The first time I called and asked for a copy of the report, told me they'd get it to me in two weeks, but never called me back. I then tried to contact them via their website contact form and they never replied. Since then when I call, no one picks up. I would like to give these guys a chance to make things right and at least provide me with the information they promised me. They have my phone number. Maybe they will see this and reach out? I don't hate my ring, I just hate that they initially fleeced me and are now avoiding me. Yes, it's a jewelry store in an overpriced tourist town but still I expect transparency regarding my purchase. Buyer beware.

My husband wanted to something nice for me and brought me into a B & G Jewlers to buy me a ring. (We should have read the reviews) We had the unfortunate experience of being taken advantage of but, did not find out until we returned home. I took the recent purchase to my jeweler in my hometown because I noticed that a few diamonds were missing. Before I even told him where we purchased the ring or how much we paid, he told me that I the missing diamonds had nothing to do with me. He stated that the prongs had been ripped off. He said it would cost between 200-300 to fix the ring and then stated but, it was only worth about $500.00. We paid $2,980.00 for the ring! We were told it was one of a kind. Going to Carmel you would think that the Jewelers there would be reputable. I have tried to call a few times and each time I do, I receive an answering machine stating they are off that day. Concidience? I have called the Carmel Chamber of Commerce to report them. Very sad and disappointed. I would think that Carmel would want to do better than that.

Knowing that this outdoor shopping center was 3 stories and had over 30 stores, I expected the area around it to be like a city center, with heavy foot and car traffic, lots of noise, and business advertisement. Instead, I wasn't sure if we were in the right place, because the neighborhood looked residential. The city planners/architects did a really nice job to implement this intention. The shopping center first opened in 1960, as an open-air courtyard style with a luxury department store, unheard of at the time for a town that small. Throughout the years, it hosted a major department store chain (Saks Fifth Avenue) as well. Now, in keeping with Carmel's intention to not have any national brand retail in it's city limits, the majority of stores/restaurants at this mall are local (though there are exceptions like Tiffany & Co, Anthropologie, and Brunello Cuccinelli). We got lucky and found free street a block from the center. Even on a Monday late morning, it was quite busy with tourists and locals alike hanging out in the main courtyard. A really nice feature was the large outdoor gas firepit that people were using to keep warm. We had come for a particular restaurant, but were informed that they were closed for the day for a private event (no signs or mention on their website)...I guess that's how this particular business rolls.

I'm still not sure why. Also there was no indication that it was a Coach Outlet rather than a Coach Retail store, which I didn't figure out until I got home and read the Yelp reviews. The store was crowded with people and they had a ton of purses on display. I wanted to see a Chelsea 30 in brown suede, a bag I've been thinking about for a while, but they were sold out. I tried a similar bag but no go. I ended up buying a little Faye Shoulder Bag in the color chalk. The irritated sales associate got nicer the longer I spent in the store. The woman who rang me up was friendly and helpful. I haven't bought a Coach purse in over a decade, but I have to admit they are starting to appeal to me again.
