Quoted me over $4,500 for a job, took it to another shop and was quoted LESS THAN HALF that at another place. RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Scummy guy charging scummy prices. Extremely impressed. I was on a road trip from Los Angeles, and my Jetta needed work to get me home again. Wes and Colby are top notch. Not only were they half the price quoted to me from the VW dealership, their work was fast and thorough. They clearly know their stuff. They found a few other problems while under the hood, recommended the repairs I really should make, and those I should consider soon, all without any pressure. It was easy to trust that they are in this business because they love what they do. It shows. My car runs like new now. I had a fantastic drive home to LA, and the next time my car needs serviced, I will seriously consider heading back up to Utah to see these guys and get the work done. Oh, and as an added bonus, they polished and sealed my headlights as a courtesy, making them glisten like new. All in all, they are an excellent shop and I would highly recommend them. read more

The shop does great work, but their organizational skills are very poor. I went to pick up my car, but they were closed for lunch even though their business hours say they were supposed to be open. I waited by the door for 30 minutes, but they never came. I left and came back an hour later when they were open again. They told me that they were only gone for 15 minutes for lunch, which is a lie and made me wonder why they didn't unlock the door for me as I was standing by it for 30 minutes straight. After picking up my car, I found a panel to some part of my car on the floor. So now I have to figure out where it goes. Overall, this shop does great work, but they need to improve their communication and organization. read more

Have an Audi or VW?!?!?! Go no where else!!! These guys exclusively only work on those models of vehicles and are second to none. I mean absolutely 2nd to no one! I moved from Vegas to Orem for school. Brought my convertible Audi with me! This car and I have great history, together, and coming from a very active Vegas car culture, I wanted to keep my baby in good condition. Initially upon arriving I went to another mechanic that is supposed to hold high regard In the community for German vehicles. My landlord who also has an Audi recommended them (they will remain unnamed). But know they broke my seal, and over filled my tank, then blamed it on the dipstick, saying the shop dipstick and mine were different.......anyway. I think the dad owned the shop, ran a good op according to reviews, but he has since retired and who ever they have in the back now, I don't trust. I just got done today with another service at The German Auto Shop and Wes and Kolby are incredible guys! Wes is the owner and Kolby is his right hand man! These guys are like Batman and Robin! I swear! Superheros in the Audi/VW universe! They really know their stuff and are extremely fair and reasonable. My control arms and brushes were in bad shape, but only had the money (I'm a student at UVU, paying out of state tuition) for used parts, 400 bucks. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle they shared they didn't have the used parts, so they just used new ones. No charge! The Guys saved me $300 dollars, honored their estimate (at the used part price) then proceeded to use new parts! They lost money, but they know what good business is all about. Lose money on the short end to keep a customer long term actually profits you more! It's called good honest business and these guys have mine for as long as I'm in town! read more

5 STARS? Seriously?!?!?!?!? How do these guys do it!? Fake reviews obviously! I was directed to take my car here for a timing chain repair on a simple VOLKSWAGEN! Ended up paying $2,800 for a new timing chain! I looked up online how much the kit was and the highest quality oem kit was $400?!?!? Why was I charged 2,700? They had my car on a Friday till the next Wednesday and the money was a holiday and I even went in and checked and no one was in the shop but I was billed hours for that day of working!?!? These guys are punks and scammers.. I mean just take a look at them, big gauges in their ears and the shop is just a mess!! Do NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE GO TO THE ACTUAL DEALERSHIP!!!! read more

Unprofessional, worst auto repair shop I have ever been to! When you take your vehicle in to the shop with one problem you hope that you don't have to take it back for the same problem they masked. Then when you have just paid them $2400 to get it fixed the first go around. Bring it back and get told it's another $1200 in repairs. Then when you try to keep calm and go in and ask for your keys back they ask you if you've been called on it and I just answered no cause I just wanted my keys. They gentlemen asked me why I have an attitude, I told him well you had my car for 2 1/2 weeks the first time and you didn't fix the problem and costed me $2400 now you want my car again and you want more money that's why I have an attitude maybe I didn't say it as nicely or in the greatest tone but by this point I was really upset and so was he but he says some pretty harsh things when he went to get my keys and then came back put the keys down tells me leave and not to ever come back I said fine by me. He then proceeds to follow me out the office and starts assaulting me and I feel like it was a threat, saying I hope the next shop has fun fixing your Audi. Makes me wonder what are they hiding! I have lots of friends and family who work with auto's. I have never heard of some one follow another out to a vehicle before. So I went to another shop we will leave the name of this shop out but they were very helpful and told me how to handle this situation they took a copy of the job this shop was suppose to do but only masked the problem. They also found that my oil was 2 qts low when 6 weeks ago they supposedly changed it at that time. read more

I moved from Salt Lake City, and was looking for a German repair shop to keep my car up. Seeing that The German Auto Shop got great reviews, I thought I'd give them a shot. Thus far, they have lived up to their 5 star review. Wes seems to be a genuinely nice guy, and apparently a great mechanic. I've had my car in twice, and they were timely, reasonably priced, and my car was serviced/repaired to my satisfaction. Wes, and a few of the other mechanics explained everything going on, and were happy to answer any of my questions. Anyway, a friendly, easy experience.
