This place is incredibly beautiful & a nice alternative to a hotel if you're bringing along your pup!

Savannah is my happy place. Whenever life gets crazy, or a special event comes up, it's off to Savannah I go! I'm usually a much better planner, and have my whole agenda figured out, but this time, my birthday crept up and I realized... "HOLY CRAP!!! My birthday is this weekend and I didn't book anything yettttt.... AHHHHHHH!!!!! AND I HAVE NO BOARDING FOR MY PUP!!!!" So, I freaked out a little... not that you could tell from above I'm sure... but I hopped online and did some detective work to see what I could find last minute that was dog friendly. I looked at a few options, and came across the Galloway House. I fell in love. I hopped online and booked the place right then. When we arrived (early..oops.) Jim was super pleasant and told me that we were fine and our place was ready for us. BIG SIGH OF RELIEF. It had dumped rain on us the whole freakin 4.5 hour drive. I was ready to just relax. When you walk up the steps to this place you KNOW you are someplace special. The front porch is so welcoming with it's big comfy chairs and lazily turning fan above to keep you cool. I made a mental note that I was going to come out here to relax later. Jim walked us back through their back yard...OMG. This back yard was like none other!! Exotic plants greet you as you enter and more chairs sitting next to some exquisite Spanish moss trees. I pictured myself painting a masterpiece back here as I saw the sculptured face staring dreamily ahead. This back yard was like a private get away in itself. LOVE!!! He took us up to our apartment, and it was much larger than I expected. He told us all the great places to eat that were in walking distance, and also the places that would allow me to take my 4 pound bruiser of a dog. I opened the fridge and there was cream cheese, butter, bottled water and a BOTTLE OF WINE! I turned around and there were fresh bagels and some nature valley bars! This was so nice of them to do... talk about customer service and awesomeness!! I turned around to the book shelf, and there is a stack of post cards with a beautiful picture of The Galloway House on it. You fill it out, and they mail if for you!!! I seriously walked through this cute little place saying, "Aww.. aw.. awwwwww.... look at this... this is so awesome!!" My boyfriend just nodded in agreeance.. lol The next day we met Keith and he was as nice & helpful as Jim, even while holding back two great danes from wanting to give me some big ol kisses. They think of everything and then some to make you feel so welcome. It was incredible and I lucked out that they had a place with my last minute procrastination. We will definitely come back and Zombie (my pup) even approves!

At night! The area around the inn felt very safe, even at 1am!

Had the pleasure of staying on the 3rd floor loft: we will never stay anywhere else except Galloway House from here on! It's GORGEOUS! Super private, the room is huge! There was a ton of water bottles in the fridge and it was stocked for breakfast. Bagels and cream cheese and muffins with yogurt. In addition there was OJ and fresh ground coffee. I felt like i was at my home away from home! Keith was so welcoming and kind. He told us all about the area around the hotel. Within 2 blocks there are restaurants and a brewery. Can't wait to return!

So much for coffee on the sunporch

Worst place ever for our honeymoon. Was under construction and NO BREAKFAST. The owners did not disclose there would be construction mess. Incredibly horrible stay ans definitely not worth what we paid. Stay anywhere else.

We just stayed in the loft , beautiful home ! Everything we could have needed was right there . We got to meet Emma what a sweetheart !! We were met ( early) our host who went over the best local places ! We went to as many as we could in our short stay - they were all fab . So nice to have those recommendations from a local . We are looking forward to our next visit , and a return to the Galloway house

I stayed at the Galloway House for a couple days this weekend. Ii took advantage of the 2-bedroom apartment and it was an exceptional selection. The owners were very helpful and pleasant. The apartment was extremely large and very comfortable. I was able to secure the two nights at a deep discount in hotels.com which made this option more than competitive with local hotels. I would definitely recommend the Galloway House as an option to consider when trekking to Savannah.

This place is absolutely immaculate and beautiful. When me and my friends checked in, the fridge was stocked with yogurts, waters, and bagels & cream cheese. There was a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us. It felt like a dream, and well worth the money. I would not hesitate to return to this haunted beauty!

Our bedroom was the top floor of the guest house.

The Marshall House has everything you could want for a trip to Savannah!!…read more You couldn't ask for a better location. The Marshall House is located directly on Broughton St near shopping and restaurants, and it's within walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see! You will barely need a rental car for your trip. Despite being on the main road, I found the hotel to be pretty quiet! The historic inn is beautifully restored. Each room is unique. If you're lucky enough to get a front-facing room on the second floor, you have access to the shared balcony overlooking the street. My room was cozy and comfortable! There are cozy bathrobes in each room. The Marshall House has some unique amenities. They provide bottled water (both cold and room temperature) by the main desk for hotel guests! So great during the summer heat. They also have a complimentary wine and cheese reception every evening in the Library with entertainment (musicians, lectures, trivia, etc.) so make sure to include that in your trip itinerary! Breakfast is also included with the price of the room. Breakfast is served in the atrium off the library. You are seated by the wonderful staff, and then you check off/circle your order on the menu they provide. Breakfast comes off of a buffet, so it's a little odd not to just help yourself, but service is super quick! The Marshall House is in the running for most haunted hotel in the country, but I didn't have any ghost encounters while I was there unfortunately. It was fun to hear the stories of other guests and to learn more about the history of the hotel! I highly recommend staying at the Marshall House if you're looking for a comfortable stay in the perfect walkable location!

The room was lovely and I especially liked the original wood floors throughout. The folks at the front desk were also wonderful. I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and they were brought up right away, unlike all other hotels where we have stayed who seem to take hours to fulfill requests like this one. As far as hauntings go, the only thing we experienced was a light knocking within the room, and it was just one time. Haunting or not, we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Savannah.

The thermostat is not able to go lower than 70. We utilized a ceiling fan and a small table fan and still sweating through the night. When I reached out for help with this I was told to utilize the fans and that she was not able to do anything else. We paid for 3 nights and stayed 1. We ended up staying in a hotel for the remainder of our stay. I reached out to VRBO for assistance and they spoke to the host and requested a refund for the remainder of our stay however it was declined. I was told that 70 was the lowest the ac could be set due to freezing issues however looking back at past reviews here (which I am kicking myself for not doing) there are other complaints of the same where host stated the ac cannot be lower than 70 due to electric bills and that the unit was replaced in March 2025. Confused why it would have freezing issues with a new unit. Would not recommend staying in this no insulated garage. Terrible experience. What a waste of money however enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express! Check reviews on their website as well, again wish I did more research on this "sauna" prior to booking. I would also not book through VRBO any longer due to this awful experience.

We stayed for 3 nights and could have stayed forever. We stayed in the Waldburg apartment which is located in the historic Victorian district. We were just offset enough from all the hustle and bustle and felt like we had lived on Waldburg Ave for years...no joke. Super awesome neighbors greeted us everyday and there is tons of safe street parking. A local health food store and coffee shop are just blocks away. Forsyth park is basically in your backyard. What more could you want? Oh yeah, the apartment is fully stocked with eco friendly products...shampoo to bug spray. We saved lots of money by stocking up on groceries and cooking up a storm in the nicely equipped kitchen. Everything about our apartment was glorious. From the gigantic bed to the loads of info on local hot spots. And we were even able to watch True Blood on-demand. Heaven?? Extra dreamy and can't wait to book up this place again :)

It feels like home - or that you're really staying in a friend's home and that they've gone out of their way to ensure you have everything you need! There's definitely enough space for my husband and I to bring along our young daughter, and the kitchen is well-equipped for short stays. You're only a short drive from the beach (avoid peak traffic times on the bridge if possible) and close enough in town to walk to nearly anything! For those unfamiliar with Savannah or general street parking, simply know that you need to be aware of street sweeping schedules (posted clearly on signs) and the owner's off-street parking. We return annually for a brief escape and it always exceeds our expectations!

The staff was very accommodating throughout our stay. Being that I lived in Savannah 20 years ago, I have bragged about how incredible Savannah's hospitality is and the staff here definitely showed up. Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. They have bikes available to sightsee rather than walking. This hotel is close to everything in case you want to walk and explore shops, dining, etc. Overall, this hotel is beautifully decorated and charming. Something Savannah is known for. I highly recommend this hotel. Especially because it's pet friendly!
