The Bluff is part of the Hilton Tapestry hotels and it was a great stay there. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean. They have 3 bicycles and shuttle car that can be used to navigate and get around (with the shuttle there are limited drop off and pick up spots - but I do like they give you a variety. Our shuttle driver Damon was sooooo friendly and helpful!! This hotel does not have a pool for those like myself who enjoy swimming. They do offer breakfast and have the Twin Spades bar available for drinks and foods particularly breakfast. In the lobby, they have a decent market for any last minute toiletries, food, and even gift needs. Overall, I would stay here again, it was very nice :) read more

First, I want to recognize Meg at the front desk. She was kind, empathetic, professional, and genuinely tried to help during a very difficult situation. She was clearly following instructions given to her and treated us with compassion throughout. Unfortunately, everything else about our arrival was handled very poorly. I made and prepaid a two-night reservation several days in advance through Hotels.com. After driving roughly six hours from Florida to attend a concert, we arrived expecting a normal check-in. Instead, we were told the hotel was oversold and we were being relocated to a Best Western. While the room at the Best Western was complimentary, it was nowhere near comparable to what we had booked. The lobby was dark and had a strong unpleasant odor. The elevator was dirty, the room was right next to the elevator with a white noise machine provided to mask the sound. It was a significant downgrade from the Hilton property we selected and paid for. The expectation was that we unpack for one night, repack in the morning, check out by eleven, spend hours without a room, and then return after 3pm to check back into The Bluff. That is an unreasonable inconvenience for any guest. While the room at the Best Western was complimentary, it was nowhere near comparable to what we had booked. The lobby was dark and had a strong unpleasant odor. The elevator was dirty, the room was right next to the elevator with a white noise machine provided to mask the sound. That guest never responded to calls and never checked in. Meanwhile, our prepaid reservation was displaced. The room was under my partners name Jerome Dimercurio. The room was across from the elevator. That wasn't a problem because being the slowest elevator on the planet it didn't make any noise. There should've been 2 elevators I don't know why there wasn't. The biggest downfall in the room was the adjoining door we didn't ask for. We mentioned the noise to the front desk and all she said to us was "we are aware" There were two different families there both nights we were there in rm 207. They were loud with grown children the first night. Mom and dad 4 kids. The next night was two parents and a 3 year old boss. The kid was so loud be sneezed and I blessed him and the parents said thank you. The interior space in our room: the bed was comfortable but the pillows were like sleeping on concrete blocks. The sofa looked so dirty as if a porn flick was filmed using it and the carpet around the sofa looked filthy too. We complained about the noise from next door. It was as if we had the adjoining doors both open. There was a metal strip holding the carpet transition to the tile. It was separating from the carpet and was a fall risk contributor. Fortunately I don't do drag therefore no heels involved. The ac was perfect as was the tv and choices. We booked the room for two adults yet we onl had towels for one. The bathroom was nice. Totally clean no problems. Cept the water pressure was really low. We decided on checkout morning to do the breakfast buffet for two with an omelette station. There was one employee running around making sure everyone paid and this wasn't free it cost about 17$ per person and it was very busy. There was one lady making omelettes but also restocking coffee juices all the hot food etc she needed a 2nd staff to do the replenishing but all she had was the one making sure everyone pays. Basically the room was a shit show. Way too many kids. Way too many parents who didn't know how to control the little angels. The room was too small. The bar was not in use at that hour next to the buffet. Someone in management should figure out a way to incorporate the bar space to be used as breakfast space in the am. read more

The few staff I encountered were friendly and attentive. There was no restaurant on site and it felt like the location and distance from restaurants was too far and possibly unsafe after dark. The hotel provides transportation to several stops in town but it was complicated to figure out how to use and inconvenient. They offered snack/appetizer type food at the bar which I got; unfortunately it seemed to make me sick - was up most of the night. My room was good size and the bed was comfortable. On site self parking (for a fee) was a plus. read more

This is a very nice boutique hotel in Savannah. It is a few blocks from all the historic shops, restaurants and bars, but only about a 10 minute walk to get just about anywhere you want to go in Savannah. They also have a free golf cart shuttle that goes to four popular areas; however it's last trip is 9:45 pm. If you plan on being out late, you are going to have to either walk back to the hotel or get an Uber. (I wouldn't recommend walking alone near the hotel late at night though.....it's not the quaint tourist area on that block.) The hotel offers a digital key for check in which we did as we were driving there. We were also able to select our own room. Then we had no need to stop by the front desk and we used our phone for the key and easily entered our room. This was great although the next day when I stopped by the desk. the woman at the front desk gave me actual keys and my digital phone key did not work after that. The room was very spacious with a big, comfy bed and a L-shaped couch. Everything was very clean. We had a mini fridge and a mini microwave and the bathroom had all of the amenities in it. The hotel is only 3 floors and we had a big picture window; unfortunately the view is basically the parking lot and the gas station next door. I wish they would have had a pool at the hotel because it was in the 90s every day while we were there. It would've been nice to go for a swim and cool off. The hotel did have bicycles that you could borrow to ride around town however we did not use them , there wasn't a gym, but we did have access to a full gym about a half a mile away. I went to the gym,, and it literally had just about everything you would want to use, and it was a piece of cake visiting just using my room key. They had fruit infused water in the lobby which was very nice. There is also a lobby bar and a small restaurant that was open for breakfast. If you are a Hilton Honors member you get a $15 credit per person that can be used for the breakfast buffet, ($15.99,) a continental breakfast, (I think around $6 or $7,) or drinks/snacks from the pantry. My husband had the buffet and there was a good assortment of hot and cold breakfast items. He enjoyed it. I used my part of the credit to get a few Diet Cokes from the pantry. The staff at the front desk was always very helpful, and the concierge was knowledgeable and gave us many suggestions for things to do since it was our first visit to the area. We used the free shuttle one night, and the driver was friendly and offered honest dining suggestions as well. There was plenty of free parking, (a rarity these days,) and once we parked our car on a Friday afternoon we didn't need to move it again until our departure 2 days later. The front desk staff was very non empathetic, besides the girl who gave me the parking pass and understood my frustration. The manager had no empathy towards my situation knowing I was there to bury my brother in law. They towed my vehicle within an hour of my return from putting my decorated military brother in law in the ground. Not to mention I was locked out of the building twice after my key cards were reprogrammed twice. I was told by the hotel manager that because the tow truck was already called.Although I had a parking pass , it didn't matter. No reimbursement, just a oh well... This hotel is located in a more residential area of Savannah. If you're looking for a more quiet stay than this is perfect. The hotel is near the river, so it's a short walk to River Street. The hotel is pretty. 3 floors and the room is spacious. There is a bar downstairs that opens at 5 and breakfast is included with the room. Sadly we only spent one night in this lovely hotel. The rooms are very large, inviting, and very comfortable with a bed I did not want to get out of. The lobby is decorated with beautiful photographs and art celebrating the city of Savannah. They offer a free courtesy shuttle to take you to nearby places in the city. Check in was very hospitable and they even gave me a small gift bag. Complementary breakfast was served in the lobby and the selection was decent. My kids love the make your own waffle iron. I only have one small complaint, there is a lovely cocktail lounge in the lobby which is supposed to be open from 4pm. I kept checking but never saw anyone working behind the bar, so sadly, no cocktails for me. We had to be up very early the next day to head home, so maybe that was for the best ;-). read more

Check your invoice for unauthorized charges. We've stayed here several times. The rooms are clean but average. The location is good. Walkable to many places. The service has steadily declined over the years that we've come and stayed. In particular, the reception acts visibly annoyed when you want to check in or out or have even a basic question. Most recently, our flights were changed delaying our stay by a night. They refused to accommodate the change. Fine. What's not fine is that we received an invoice the next day with charges for meals, tips, and parking when we hadn't even stayed there. We tried to call directly 5 times. The phone would ring and ring until someone picked up the receiver and immediately slammed it down. We finally got through by calling the Hilton main call center. They reversed the fraudulent charges. When I asked how they got there in the first place, the lady immediately slammed the phone down on me. The place is average. It's clean and the location is good. The staff is generally unfriendly. Check your bill closely and plan to waste a lot of time trying to get it fixed if its wrong. One more thing....they charge you for every cup of their weak coffee. If you stay here, there's way better coffee a short walk down the street at Foxtail Coffee - Riverside Savannah. read more

Admittedly, I'm not overly picky with hotels, so if YOU are, pay this review no mind. On my rating scale, a long as a hotel covers the basics (location, clean, comfy, friendly, decent décor) I'm generally happy. However, while I've been the one to book most of our accommodations for the past 2 decades, my wife has been in charge as of late and has been upgrading our typical experience. I'm starting to think she's trying to tell me something! LOL *** THE BLUFF HOTEL is a charming boutique hotel offered as part of the Choice Hotel Group Ascend Collection. This particular location is a renovated Comfort Suites. They replaced the old indoor pool with a fancy schmancy bar/lounge area and all the rooms were heavily upgraded to a sleek modern décor. It truly is a very nice looking hotel that I could get used to visiting more often (don't tell my wife)! OUR 390 sqft QUEEN STUDIO consisted of two Queen Beds and a sofa sectional, 55 inch flat-screen television, sleek desk with storage and an in-room coffee maker and mini-fridge. The bathroom was a delight with glass barn doors on the large shower and a backlit mirror. The beds were crazy comfortable and the cable TV selection was better than average. I'm the type who likes to fall asleep to a good movie, so this was a pleasant bonus for me. NOTE: I'm not sure of the other floors, but our first floor room had VERY TALL ceilings, making the room feel even more spacious. LOCATION was in view of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge on the West end of the Bay Street strip. A five minute walk to River Street or City Market was fairly effortless, as we decided to bypass the hotel shuttle. BREAKFAST was fairly standard for more budget friendly hotels with items such as yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, bagels, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles, DELICIOUS pastries and juice. The Musgrove Breakfast Room is small, but if it happened to get crowded guests could spill over into the gorgeous speakeasy lounge area connected via French doors. PARKING was an additional cost as are most of the hotels in Savannah's Historic District. STAFF was very friendly and we were extremely appreciative of the manager accommodating us after discovering emotional support dogs are not allowed. EVERYTHING was booked and we had no other nearby options. Thankfully our well behaved fur baby is only 10lbs and very quiet. AGAIN, very very appreciative they gave us a one time grace. *** HISTORY - According to their website, The Bluff Hotel sits on the historic Yamacraw Bluff, where General James Oglethorpe and British colonists aboard the ship Anne landed on February 12, 1733. This place is a gem!Convenient,clean and quiet. It used to be a Comfort Inn. It looks like it was recently overhauled. They did a nice job. The decor all throughout is modern and simple.A nice feature is the high ceilings in the rooms!Makes it feel so spacious!!! The room was clean and comfortable.Wi-Fi was okay. They have self parking which was a main reason I chose to stay here.The daily parking rates were reasonable as well. It's on the outer edge of the historic district but still walkable.They advertise a free local shuttle but I didn't see any evidence of it,nor did I ask about it. The one downside is that there's no restaurant on site and their grab and go options are very minimal so plan ahead for food snacks and last minute needs.There is a CVS that's about a 10 minute walk though. My main criteria for booking here were price and location. When we stayed, they included breakfast also. The hotel is located at the edge of downtown Savannah. It is about 2 - 3 blocks further then the next closer-in hotel, but is less than a 15-minute walk to either River Street or City Market. Bay Street is fairly busy and there is little shade for the first 2 blocks (until you get beyond the post office). The trade off is that the closer hotels rapidly escalate in price. There is also self-parking here (which isn't always the case with urban hotels) but they charge a $20 per night parking fee. The area seemed safe, or at least as safe as the rest of downtown Savannah. They offer a free shuttle service to downtown locations (and call-for-pick-up) though we did not take advantage of that. I think it ran from around 3 p.m. to later in the evening, but I did not register the exact times. The exit from the parking lot is a minor challenge; technically it appeared you were not allowed to turn left (towards town). It was fairly easy to do that anyway, and I think there may have been a way to circle the block (by turning right) if necessary... The staff was uniformly friendly, though we didn't have much interaction with them. The site had a mandatory mask policy, which seemed to be largely ignored (at this point). The room was spacious, clean, and quiet (for the most part). The breakfast was okay. They had a make-your-own-waffle station, which I did not use. They only offered pre-packaged bread options, but had cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, etc. It was slightly above average from what I've seen traveling this summer, given the current stage of the pandemic. In all, I'd consider staying here again, though I'd also consider staying a few blocks closer in depending on what the price difference was. read more

Long time Diamond member with the choice brand so I decided to splurge a bit and found this location to stay a few nights with my wife @ First impressions are pretty good I must say. The lobby is pretty sharp with some very cool old pictures of Savannah. Check in was super fast. Parking isn't free $10 for being a Diamond member but I believe normal price is $20 per night . I was supposed to have a king suite but was placed in a regular king room. I'll be calling Choice customer service over that because I actually payed extra to have the suite ‍. So far it's a nice place to stay and the bed is super comfy . I was told there's slim pickings due breakfast due to Covid so we will see read more

The bluff is a fine hotel once inside, but not one of the best representations of the Hilton Tapestry collection. The hotel is bordered on the south by a housing project with broken and boarded up windows, on the east by a post office dispatch location where they park their postal delivery trucks, and on the west by a highway and Bridge. The walk to the active section of Savannah is about 10 to 15 minutes past a very industrial section of town. Once inside, it's an attractive hotel, with a quiet bar and lounge area, a single elevator, and friendly staff. The rooms are a decent size, ours with a king bed and small sectional couch. The bathroom is quite small, but serviceable. The TV worked about half the time, with some channels not coming in clearly. Back in the day when this was a different hotel brand, I'm sure it was a fine representation of a cheap brand. For what Hilton is choosing to charge for these rooms, I would recommend the other Hilton hotels closer to the center of Savannah, which have better locations and superior amenities. read more

First of the Staff is wonderful and helpful. Second the bar is closed because they are in between bartenders and staff. So hopefully they find one soon. Because it would be nice to come back and have a night cap. This is in walking distance to everything in the downtown area. Rooms are really nice and clean. The hotel looks fancy as F@#k. This is a cool little hotel for a nice weekend getaway for a decent price in Savannah. You are just a minutes walk to the famous river street. Sadly you don't get the river street view. You are in a residential area with a very short walk to Ghost Coast Distillery and Service Brewing Co which I recommend you check them both out (have reviews on both of them). Breakfast is included with your standard continental hotel breakfast but somehow these were the best hotel powdered eggs I've had. The staff is very friendly and helpful to accommodate your needs. Great location, fair prices, huge rooms, the AC goes down to 65 which we LOVE, complimentary shuttle to town only a few blocks away. When you pull up to the hotel it looks like a run down "Hampton Inn" but when you walk in the hotel the lobby and bar are beautiful! Ryan took us too and from town and him and wife are bartenders and they make an excellent drink and give you get suggestions on food, etc. The beds are comfortable and the hallways of the hotel are beautiful as well. While in a decent location the property endeavors to be something it is not. It portends to be a luxury location with luxury amenities. Charging $15 for a breakfast this identical at Hampton Inn doesn't make this a high end stay. It was nice to have complementary bikes available to explore the town, however, the staff was inconsistent on when they were available for use. Specifically one front desk representative would only allow the bikes out after 8 am while other stated they were available 24/7. This adversely impacted our stay as we did much our exploring before I headed to work in the morning. When you book here expect a Hampton Inn without a pool, gym or pretty much anything else. read more

This is a former comfort inn so while it still has a way to go, it is clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly. The bathroom was updated, and furniture was comfortable. It is a bit off the beaten path and while you can walk everywhere, it's more of a walk than we would have preferred. We got coffee in the morning but skipped the breakfast since we don't eat early. They have a shuttle but we needed it Sunday at 6 and the guy was off on his own personal pickup and then we would have used it Monday but it didn't run ... the only complaint we had. read more

location is not good. it's a 1/2 mile through an unsafe area to get downtown so either pay to rent a car (plus $20 a day for parking) or shell out at least $60 a day for Uber. forget the trolly. it's unreliable at best. $14 per person for a breakfast that's nothing more than toast cereal and muffins. NO COFFEE. coffee maker is broken at restaurant. And the Nespresso coffee maker in the room also was broken. too many unpleasant surprises at this place. read more

Dirty and run down. Our bathroom was not cleaned properly upon check in and the floors were some of the dirtiest I have seen at a hotel. I'm not sure why this place has good reviews because It's going downhill and fast. The bed is terrible as well. Additional its extremely loud and you can hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms, and I mean EVERYTHING. The only good thing was the amount of space in the rooms. The staff is nice as well -- that's the Georgia charm coming through. It's about a 10 minute walk from the major shops and river drive area. Nice hotel but BEWARE if you are a Hilton regular: My friend and I recently had a two night stay at this hotel which overall went well and we had a nice experience. I am a Hilton diamond member and exclusively stay at Hilton Hotels when traveling. In addition I also have the Hilton branded credit card which I use for all of my stays. However, the charges for this hotel are being billed under "Comfort Inn" since apparently it was converted from a Comfort Inn quite awhile ago. It's very disappointing and frustrating that they have not updated their credit card charging systems, and I am missing points on my Hilton credit card because of this. I have already tried to contact Hilton on at least three occasions to get this resolved and everyone keeps pointing me towards someone else. It's been hours of wasted time and great frustration to get some thing that should be absolutely automatic. I can't imagine that I'm the first person who has been trying to get this resolved. So I would recommend staying at this hotel if you aren't specifically focused on the fact that it's a Hilton property, but as a Hilton diamond member I definitely wouldn't stay here again unless this is resolved. They have been a Hilton hotel for months to a year, so there is no reason this should be an ongoing issue. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for an otherwise decent hotel stay. I enjoyed my 3-night 4-day stay at The Bluff. It's a cute hotel. The complimentary shuttle service was down because the driver is on military duty, so they are looking for a replacement. They do have complimentary bikes. I believe they are cruisers and they are very colorful and cute. Parking is $20 a day, but $10 a day for Choice Hotel members. The hotel has one elevator which could pose a problem, but luckily I was on the first floor. That being said, there wasn't a lot of traffic, so that was refreshing. The amenities are nice. Due to Covid, housekeeping is by request only, but you can ask for free towels, toiletry items, and linen from the front desk. The complimentary breakfast is nice. They serve eggs and sausage, prepackaged items like cereal and danishes, oatmeal, and juice, coffee, the usuals. The only complaint I have is that my Nespresso water container was dirty. The front desk gave me a replacement container. Must note that in April 2022 The Bluff will no longer be a Choice Hotel. The front desk informed me that it will become part of Hilton Hotels. They were doing a photo shoot for the new branding. You heard it here first! All in all, I would visit again. read more

This hotel has been a god-send. After a brutal experience at a nearby hotel, The Bluff was able to get us into a great room last minute for us to transfer to. The staff has been exceptionally nice and accommodating and it has to be one of the cleanest stays we have experienced (I do believe it was somewhat recently renovated). Parking is self-park right in front of the hotel and viewable from most of the rooms. The included hot breakfast is simple but very good compared to most hotels, and the complimentary shuttle service is awesome for getting to and from the downtown area where parking is near impossible to find at times. The shuttle is particularly nice if you don't feel comfortable walking back at night as it runs until 9-10pm or so depending on the night and will pick you up wherever. If you're looking to walk, it is only a 10-15 minute walk from the majority of the central Savannah Historic District area. Couldn't be happier with our stay here. read more

Great room with updated bathrooms and a small sitting area. Bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows. Visited the bar where we were greeted by Franko and Ashton. The provided us with great customer service and awesome locally sourced drinks. It is close to historic Savannah, within walking distance. Would recommend staying here for sure! read more
