    Coffee and a view

Great atmosphere in and out. Staff always have a smile and friendly. The coffee is spot on with many choices!

Delightful! The coffee here is fabulous, as is the food. I really enjoyed my drink as well as the bagel with lox that I ordered. The only downside is that there was no seating left on the inside--great for them and their business but alas I had to enjoy my order elsewhere. Nonetheless, if you can score a seat, enjoy!

This place was excellent. You have to wait for delicious coffees but worth it. And the spinach artichoke spread was awesome. Definitely wish this was in my town. Very cute interior very comfy. The barista made me awesome white chocolate latte with cold foam.

The Gallery Expresso is ideally located just off Chippewa Square in Savannah. Their outdoor patio tables boast views of the Oglethorpe monument in the square, but the interior of this coffee shop is the real treat since there's all kinds of paintings, decoration, globes, and knickknacks throughout (I wish they had more coffee shops like this with some personality back home). I went with a mochaccino and pecan coffee crumb cake that caught my eye. I would rate both a 3.5/5, as the drink was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary about it, and a little too sweet. I love food items with pecans when I travel south, so was expecting something deliciously unique with the crumb cake, but felt it was just a bit above average in taste. Service was friendly enough from the baristas, but they also had a tired look on their faces after the morning rush. While the location and ambiance are amazing, I was a bit alarmed that none of the food or drink items had prices anywhere on the posted menus. I am a firm believer that you have to post prices so customers can make an informed purchase decision based on the price rather than just go along with whatever is run up on the register come payment time. The total was a bit north of $12 for both items, so not overly expensive. While I'd probably check out a different coffee place in Savannah next time, The Gallery Expresso is still a solid option for those visiting the Chippewa Square area scoping out where Forrest Gump was waiting for his bus.

I wish I could take this cafe back home with me. The vibes are so cozy and as a tea enthusiast I loved there were so my teas to chose from and the generous amount of tea that comes in a unique diffuser. I first went on a busy Saturday morning and returned on a quieter weekday morning with my laptop and got to experience working from a sunny window seat with the music on at a comfortable volume. My only suggestion would be to deep clean or switch out the fabric chairs for more leather ones. Great selection of teas, coffee and baked goods.

Great sandwiches to enjoy while sitting in the square! The oldest coffee shop in Savannah, but we were there for a bite to eat. The chicken salad and daily special, which was a fried eggplant with greens, roasted pepper and balsamic dressing, were delicious. Inside it's an eclectic vibe with couches and dim lighting.

This was an interesting stop. We stopped in for coffee and a quick bite. We jumped in the long line and waited and waited. While waiting, I noticed how chaotic the restaurant was. Maybe some would call this charm but it felt dirty to me. Furiture was very "worn" (as you can see in the picture under our plate) There were two young ladies working behind the counter who didn't seem to have any hustle. From the line to the counter it was about a 18 minute wait. (I think there were about 6 people in front of me) Upon ordering it was another 5 minutes or so. We ordered iced coffees and a scone. I thought the pice was very reasonable. The coffee and the scone were both acceptable. The biggest thing that turned me off was while waiting for our coffees to be made, the girls behind the counter, and a man in the prep kitchen area were discussing recent illnesses that they had. They were talking loud enough that we could clearly hear them, and they were discussing who was sick in their household and what was wrong with them. It was such a turn off for me because they were handling my food and talking about being ill at the same time. It really turned me off.

Just happened to stop in here and love it! I got a chai latte & pumpkin spice latte & chocolate cookie. Their desserts are massive! Love the atmosphere & staff is nice too!

Adorable little spot. Funky inside and very popular it seemed. Staff was happy to help with deciding what to get and flavors as a first time visitor. Got an iced chai and it was amazing. My friend got an iced coffee and she thought it was ok it was a bit dark and she wished she got the chai like I did. Not badly priced it was approximately $6 for an oat milk chai. Some other places in the area had a huge up charge for oat milk but I thought they had a better value and quality in comparison to other places we tried on vacation!

Gallery Espresso is a fun and funky coffee shop located just off Chippewa Square in Savannah's historic district. As the name suggests, the shop has an interesting variety of art and art objects on sale throughout. They also serve wine, pastries, and light fare. My companion and I enjoyed iced coffees which were quite delicious. The pastries in offer also looked very tempting, though we did not try them. The atmosphere is excellent and service was good. The interior is a fun mish-mash of styles and furniture, and a comfortable (and deceptively large!) space. Outdoor seating is also available which was quite pleasant even on humid summer morning. This is an excellent spot a little removed from hustle and bustle of River Street, Broughton Street, and City Market. It is a great local alternative to the ubiquitous large coffee chains (and hotel coffee, if you're visiting). Definitely worth a stop whike you are in Savannah.

We stumbled upon this spot when we took a detour through the park away from the rush of the main streets. It has lots of funky unique art and furniture, yummy food and sweets, and great coffee. Loved sitting here and enjoying the quirky charm

Stopped at The Gallery Espresso while on a hop on-hop off tour. It's located in a notable historic building at the south end of the popular Chippewa Square. The building is circa 1859 and has a long history of commercial versatility. The space is charming, cozy, and eclectic. There's plenty of seating indoor and out. When we arrived on a Thursday afternoon, most of the tables inside were occupied mostly with people working and/or studying. However, we found an open table outside. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'm a creature of habit, so I ordered my go-to, honey cinnamon oat milk latte. Since it was a warm day, I opted for iced. Hubs ordered an iced coffee and we split a dulce de leche bar. The coffee was solid and smooth. We really enjoyed our drinks. The dulce de leche bar was also good and not too sweet, but felt like something was missing. Great spot for a quick stop! Seems to fill up quickly so arrive early to secure a spot if you're looking to stay and work or study.

    Great location

Amazing location with great scenery and excellent coffee. The flavor of the day was Hawaiian Hazelnut, and for a drip coffee the flavor was out of this world. We stopped by while in town, and this place offers a great location to stop by and relax or work. You won't be sorry you did.

Bathroom. I walked in and said "Holy smokes"

The refund came through exactly as he said it would. To be clear, the food on my visit genuinely missed, and I'm not pretending otherwise. But Tyler responded publicly, owned it, and followed through completely. That kind of accountability is rare, and it's what earned the bump. Credit where it's due on the space, too -- the ambiance is genuinely great. Warm, candle-lit dining room, an open kitchen, a well-stocked bar, and a covered patio that had a real buzz to it. It's a spot that looks and feels like somewhere you want to be, which is exactly why I'd give the kitchen another shot based on how the owner runs this place. --- Original review (2 stars): Disappointing birthday dinner. Came in for my birthday and left underwhelmed. Our server Troy was the one bright spot -- professional and attentive all night. Caesar salad: Several bitter pieces of lettuce, and no black pepper offered or available. Faroe Island salmon: Overly buttery like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The shishito cream sauce was way too acidic -- tasted like uncooked wine or vinegar. Crispy rice cakes were bland and a strange pairing (rice blocks with salmon?). The baby bok choy was decent until the sauce drowned it out. Braised beef short rib: Tender but flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted old, not fresh that evening. To top it off, my wife had arranged ahead of time for the birthday dessert to be brought out -- the message never reached Troy, so that moment never happened. Troy deserved better than what the kitchen sent out.

The brunch menu is fairly…read moreextensive, so we had some difficulty choosing what to order....but definitely come hungry because the portions are large and the food is pretty rich. To share amongst the table, we ordered the cinnamon toast banane and crispy gouda grit croquettes. Thumbs up on both, particularly the croquettes which were the right balance of gooey and structured enough to eat with the delicious sauce on the side. The cinnamon toast banane was not so much toast as cinnamon rolls with bananas foster; the cinnamon rolls were really tasty and the bananas foster was good, though the bourbon flavor was strong. For my entree, I ordered one of the lighter vegetarian dishes - the mushroom tartine with tomato soup. I think it is one of the lighter dishes - certainly lighter than what my dining companions ordered - but it was still quite rich with a fair amount of gouda fondue in the tomato bisque soup. The mushroom tartine/sandwich was really flavorful with the pesto, cheese and tons of mushrooms. The restaurant is quite large with an upstairs seating area.

I got their chicken sandwich, while the rest of my family got the Dubai chocolate French toast, Bubble and squeak. My grilled chicken sandwich had a vast majority of flavors varying in the sandwich. The chicken was my only set back, it came off as under seasoned and bland, while the white bread and cheese melted together with the fresh lettuce. I also got their iced matcha latte with lavender syrup, which I was heavily surprised from how flavorful and sugary it was, I highly recommend this drink to any matcha lovers out there. The Dubai chocolate French toast was beautifully put together and delicious, shared across my family. From what I heard the bubble and squeak was amazing and was not too heavy or dull in flavor and is a great vegetarian option. Overall, the atmosphere inside was very light and put together, the creme walls contrasted perfectly with the historic stone walls. Even after the 2021 rebrand, it still held on for a while, but something in the last 5 years at the main office has completely lost touch. They expanded to three locations: ; downtown, Tybee, and Hilton Head, and in the process the whole identity fell apart. The menu has been gutted of its originality. The "OG" items are now overpriced, portion sizes have been cut in half, and the original sides that made it special are gone. What used to be a simple, order-and-sit-down experience is now chaotic. You're herded in by an overstaffed but somehow still disorganized team of high-turnover employees with zero consistency and very little emotional intelligence. There are always way too many staff for the number of customers, yet service somehow keeps getting worse. Last night was the final straw. We tried the Tybee location first, waited 30 minutes just to be seated, only to be told they were basically out of everything and could only do drinks. So we drove to downtown. Same exact thing. Out of sausage. When we asked if we could just remove it or substitute it, we didn't get a simple no, we got an "absolutely not," because apparently everything is pre-mixed and nothing can be adjusted. Even worse once we sat down. It took 15 minutes just to be asked for drink orders. A different server came over, introduced himself like we were starting fresh, and then got visibly annoyed when we said we'd already ordered water and a soda. From there it just kept getting more awkward. At one point he bumped my cup while I was literally lifting it to my lips and told me to "watch out" while he was placing food down. He took forever to check us out and finally bring our soda to go, and ended the night by saying, "just so you know I'm faster than the other girl," like we were in the middle of some weird staff competition we didn't sign up for. On the outside it still looks like a fun Savannah staple. But once you sit down, you realize you're no longer a local guest, you're trapped in an overhyped tourist operation that's completely lost what made it good in the first place.
