Wanting a quick breakfast while out in Savannah I decided to give this bagel cafe a try. The store itself is a large space where you order at the counter off the large menu above. Lots of different bagel and sandwich options. I opted for the BLT with garlic mayo on a salted egg bagel with a sea salt caramel latte. Gabrielle took my order, she was lovely and patient. The food did not take long at all and was cooked to order. The bagel was really good, loved the flavor. I will say the garlic mayo on the bagel was the star! Can't help but leave a review for somewhere we visited while I was in Savannah this weekend for a friend's wedding. Bagel restaurants are where joy and whimsy go to die. I've never been to one where the workers don't look exhausted and pissed off. On a Sunday morning during MDW, Spread is no different. We arrived at Spread seeking refuge from the torrential downpour outside, sopping wet, dripping all over the floor. After drying off with paper towels and wringing out our hair in the sinks of the very spacious bathrooms, we were informed that it was going to be a 45 minute wait before we received our bagels. Alas, where else were we going to go? We did indeed wait the 45 min, but sipped on some lattes in the meantime. There are lots of seating options, so we were able to sit for the majority of the wait. I got an egg and cheese sandwich on a plain bagel, and it was fine. The cheese was more like a cheese sauce, and I think I would've preferred sliced or sliced-adjacent. I can't really think of an occasion in which Spread would be the move, other than one in which you are avoiding some kind of adverse weather situation, considering the wait time, food quality, and their tendency to run out of certain food items. read more

Well, visiting Savannah on our very last day, we decided to get a casual breakfast and stumbled upon spread Bagelry. Let me tell you it took a while to find a parking spot because everything close to the restaurant was packed. There was a little wait to order. You're a cry a few people inside they look like they were waiting on their food. But we placed our order to go and began to wait. We ended up finding a seat after a little while of waiting again. It was very packed inside, which made me think that we made the right choice for our breakfast spot. I got the Carnegie breakfast with pastrami on a rosemary olive oil bagel. Let me tell you this is probably the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. That pastrami with the right balance of salty goodness and that rosemary olive oil bagel was to die for. So I originally said that we placed our order to go. It was about an hour before we got our order so we just decided to sit inside and eat our food. The manager was so nice to notice that we have waited for a while before we got our food and as we were leaving, he offered us some bagels to take home. I thought that was such a nice gesture. Very cute and busy shop, we managed to snag the last table inside and I went with THE STANDARD (A timeless breakfast staple: your choice of bagel, [I chose the rosemary olive oil] fluffy eggs, melted Cooper Sharp, and smoked bacon). Service was quick and efficient, although they were out of some things when we were there (my friend wanted something, I think corned beef? I'm a huge bagel fan and this spot is perfect to satisfy your bagel cravings. Nice and spacious and super clean. Lots of varieties to choose from but they go quick. The young man at the register greeted us as soon as we walked in. I wasn't hungry on my visit so I ordered the dirty chai latte with oat milk. There is an upcharge of .75¢ for milk substitutions. My drink was delicious but tepid. Very lukewarm. My friend ordered the pizza on a rosemary and olive oil bagel. It looked and smelled amazing. I'll absolutely be back to try that out soon. read more

Spread Bagelry was a hit for our group and we can't wait to return! We ordered a Cure Sandwich on a plain bagel, as well as a standard on an everything. Both were mouth watering. Everything is made to order so it takes a couple of minutes, but well worth it. We enjoyed being able to sit inside and relax for a few minutes. As a certified bagel snob, this was AMAZING. A bad bagel will truly ruin my day. I got the Classic with salmon on a poppy seed bagel and I will be dreaming about this bagel when I return back home from our trip to Savannah. Absolutely LOVE. My mocha latte was delicious as well! My dad and I came here and they did not cut his bagel all the way through and when I went up to the counter to ask if they could re-cut it for him since it was a very stuffed bagel they refused. If you are a bagel lover Spread Bagelry is a must visit. The bagels are literally made right in front of you. The location of this Bagelry is 6 W State Street. It is located in between Bull and Whitaker Street. There is a CVS on the corner of Bull turn to the right and look up to see the sign. It's next to Mint to be Mojito. The sign is small and blends in if you are not looking for it. There is currently construction going on across the street at the courthouse. So heads up parking on that square can be difficult. Once indoors you will see an open kitchen, coffee, and oven area. There are two small bars for seating with bar stools, tables and chairs, and one long table with bar stools. The menu has much to choose from! I decided to go with the classic my first time and was not disappointed. It is your choice of smoked nova salmon or whitefish salad with cream cheese, tomato, onion, & capers. This all comes on your bagel of choice. I chose an everything bagel with whitefish salad and no cream cheese. I also got an iced dirty chai latte with oat milk. They have a variety of coffee beverages to choose from. My husband got the Philly special bagel. It comes with: brisket, truffled mushroom, grilled red onions, spinach, and Cooper sharp cheese. He also added an egg. He got their orange blossom and cinnamon latte hot with oat milk. The service was excellent. You place your order at the counter. We did not have any questions. The menu does a good job of explaining. When your order is ready your name is called and you pick up at the counter. Our order came out swiftly. My husband noticed his egg was not on his bagel. They apologized and quickly fixed it. We were there around 10 on Sunday and found seating. But depending on time of day the seating fills up. The bagels were in a word YUM! We both agreed. I will definitely be back to try more. The whitefish salad which is hard to find here in Savannah was delicious. I cannot wait to try their salted egg bagel. Both of our coffees were ok. They are what I would skip upon return here. The chai flavor was lacking in my dirty chai along with enough espresso for me unfortunately. My husband agreed his latte tasted more like orange blossom and he could barely taste cinnamon. I gave it a few sips myself and I have to agree. But what is not my cup of tea may be someone else's. Vegans take caution, these bagels are cooked in honey water. If that isn't important to you, then come check Spread out. They have plant based cream cheese! Let me continue with I am from New York and am picky about bread, obviously. I have never had a Montreal style bagel before, but I love a thick, doughy bagel with a pound of smear loaded on it. I have been to Spread twice and had two very different experience. First time was at 8 am on a Sunday when Savannah was still asleep. There were few other customers and we were a group of 6. We ordered and paid mostly individually, and our orders were prepared very quickly. I fell in love with the rosemary and olive oil bagel with pistachio honey cream cheese. My palate is watering just thinking about it! A friend ordered the avocado toast bagel, and struggled to eat it. We recommend sliced tomatoes instead of cut cherry tomatoes. There was a lot of avocado spread (not complaining) but it made the bagel difficult to bite into without making a mess. The plastic knife provided would not cut through the bagel to eat with a fork. I would not order this bagel to eat in public. My second visit was around 11 am on a Saturday. The place was packed. It took us 30 minutes just to wait in line, and another 30 minutes to get our food. We didn't even receive the coffees until after the bagels came out. The line was not moving efficiently, but I hope in some time and practice this will improve. Overall I love Spread. I'll be back, just before Savannah is awake! read more

The bagels were decent. There was nothing that stood out as making them better than any other bagel store. The amount of cream cheese they put on each bagel is ridiculous. I had to throw more than half of it away because there was way way too much for one bagel. I would eat here again except for the fact that we ordered 2 plain bagels and that was all and waited for 45 minutes. It took way too long to get food and when they advertise how long each order is taking on their screen it's easy to see things are taking too long. I have visited this place several times, and the bagels are usually very good. However, today I couldn't eat here due to sanitary concerns. I arrived at 7 a.m. and waited for them to open. At 7:03 a.m., there were only two employees working. The girl who was cooking the bagels left the oven area to open the door. There were two main issues: first, they were late opening, and second, she left her black gloves on while she removed the sign and opened the door. I thought she might remove her gloves before returning to the oven, but that didn't happen. She continued to handle the bagels after touching the door. I mentioned to her that she should consider changing her gloves since she had just touched some unsanitary areas. With the flu going around, this is especially important. unfortunately, I couldn't eat there after witnessing this so I left. I'm sure this was an isolated incident, as this place is usually great. However, they need to train their employees to change their gloves when they leave the food preparation area. read more

We absolutely love NY style bagels and to discover another bagel spot in Savannah interested us. So from the time we walked up there was a sign on the door saying "no more bagels". We started to walk away, when we peeked in the window and noticed there were plenty of bagels. So we went inside and asked "are they open and do they have bagels?" They responded that they are open and they do have bagels, they just are having some "technical difficulties ", and then stammered off in what they were saying which was hard to understand. Then when making our order asking the young lady at the register, I asked what the name of the delicious looking sandwich which is on the menu located right above the register. She replied that she did not know, with almost a little irritation in her response. Then we tried to order a hot coffee at 10 something in the morning and we were told that we could only get cold brew. The Standard sandwich was very tasty and the avocado toast was good as well. Loaded with fresh avocado and cherry tomatoes. The atmosphere was quiet as there was not a lot of people in the store, maybe because of the signs on the door that left many people that we watched confused. No bagels, but then they had bagels. Only online orders sign posted, and then we paid at the register. Just very confusing and communication with the customers seemed to be lacking. After this first time visit, would we try it again? I would, giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day that we decided to come in. One bit of feedback I can give, is regardless of what is going on treat the customers with respect, appreciation and LOVE! So randomly go to Savannah for the weekend and as we are walking down the street I spotted the sign for Spread bagelry! What? In GA? I used to live a couple blocks from the very first location in Philly and was a frequent customer. The Montreal style bagels are soo good and they also have awesome cream cheese. I made my friends stop in with me and we got one bagel with cream cheese split into 4 pieces so everyone could try it. I'm not sure that they were as excited as me but it's fine. I went back on our last day to get another bagel for myself and a couple extra to bring home and put in the freezer. It was so nice to go here! read more

I've tried them 3 times as I enjoy bagels for break fast. The one time I actually got the bagels, I have to admit they were good. THE PROBLEM IS......one time I got there at 715 am as they open at 7 and the bagels were not ready. Bagels were in the oven and wouldn't be ready for anoth 15 minutes. Second time I got there at 710 and they didn't open until 720 ( but at least they had bagels. The third time (5/23/25). I arrived at 710am and once again, no bagels. They were in the oven and would be for the next 10 minutes. A place that serves breakfast should be ready when they open! I can understand one item not being available early but when bagels are your featured item they need to be ready. They need new management!!! Do t wast your time going there. read more

I want to love this place, but I'm struggling. This was not my first time here. They have a ~10 different types of bagels. I chose the sesame, toasted with butter & a vanilla bean latte to-go. I waited about 5 minutes for my order, which was pretty quick. I walked back to my car and hit the road. When I unwrapped my bagel I could have kicked myself for not looking at it in the restaurant. It was barely toasted, like warm with no 'toasted' coloring. The bagel was completely drenched with butter. The paper was dripping with butter, the bagel was soaked. Like zero dry spot in the bagel, the butter was soaked through everything! A place that specializes in bagels should know that butter is NOT like cream cheese, less is more. There was zero chance I could eat the bagel. I even tried squeezing out some of the butter with a napkin. The whole thing was a complete mess - I was covered in butter. The latte was more like milk and vanilla. There was very little taste of espresso. So disappointing - $10 down the drain and I wasn't able to enjoy either. read more
