They have giant al pastor spinning but most of the meats are already cooked in the metal tins. One potato per order now. The meats were tender with asada being my favorite here. Brisket is also good if you prefer a fattier meat. They have sauce station with different spices. Grilled onions, raw onions, and cilantro to your liking. Another booth sells drinks. I got the horchata and tasted pretty standard. Great place to take someone to try out LA tacos.

I'm picky, but Ave 26 delivers every single time. It's super affordable, open 24/7, and there's always plenty of parking, which is a huge win in LA. Plus, it's honestly one of the best spots in town for people-watching while you eat. Let's talk favorites. My absolute must-order is their al pastor burrito with everything. It comes loaded with tons of smoking hot, perfectly seasoned al pastor meat, melted cheese, and incredible flavor. To top it off, they have a solid lineup of tasty salsas and spicy condiments to customize every bite just how you like it. Whether you're wrapping up a late night out or looking for the perfect spot to celebrate after a Dodgers game, Ave 26 has got you covered. Get out there after the win and grab a burrito -- you'll thank me later.

Today I was driving North on San Pedro to run work errands, not even thinking of bbq. But then it hit me, the smell and smoke through my window and I turned left to see the pop-up! Corner of 15th & San Pedro, set up is across the street from the LA Face mart. If you get near by I am sure you will see it or smell it:) Swung by after my lunch time errands, excited to get me some briskets again. But not today... Only the ribs, hot links, chicken were available this day. No worries, went for the $10 hot links to try something different. The hot links were good, the inside texture was smooth, don't think I've had this kind before. It definitely has kick, and definitely need to eat with bread. For my weak taste buds, it was too spicy and it literally took a lot of sweat, but ate it all up since still addicting. Been about 10 mins since I cleaned up, but I am still kinda perspiring, lol. I think for me personally, the hot links is 3 stars, since I can't enjoy as much while pouring sweat from my head. But then I'm weak (I pour sweat eating the mild green salsa from King Taco for reference). If you can handle the heat, I think it would be a 4. Hot links seem like a good item to get for the $5 sandwich. But then not sure if you get that crack potato salad! Will be on the lookout next time to see if they have briskets.

I love the Cabeza tortilla and 3 is the perfect number of tacos for me as they are pretty generous with the meat and avocado sauce. Been here twice and both times because we were going to a show at the Forum which is just a short drive away. It gets pretty busy around dinner time so expect a long wait as the line moves pretty slowly (everything is made/ cooked fresh!)... but the wait is 100% worth it. Just make sure you order enough the first time so you dont have to wait in line again. There is some parking but it gets pretty crowded too so you might have to street park (and the area around can get a little sketch) so be careful. The second time we came here was almost 1130pm right before their midnight closing. This time, the parking lot was emptier so we managed to park inside. There was still a pretty steady stream of customers even around closing, but at least the line isn't ridiculously long. Can't go wrong with anything you order here!

There's a line going out the parking lot and there's tables to enjoy your food too. Luckily there wasn't a long line and the service was fast. I got three carne asada tacos and one cabeza. Huge plus that they were making their tortillas from scratch on the spot but the tacos were really small. I should've order six tacos instead of four. The carne asada with the guacamole and cilantro were an amazing touch. I accidentally got the salsa in it and it was pretty spicy. Cabeza wasn't my favorite meat cut too. I then ordered an horchata and they only had one size and it was huge but so good! I would come back to get their burrito.

If you don't see it at first, just look for the bigger van where they bring in the stuff, and you'll see people working. But even with the minimal working parts, these tacos are the best. You order up at the grill. The grill table is complete with a giant kebab of al pastor pork, chicken, beans, cheese, and grilled onions. Once you say what you'd like, they make it up super fast. (We had tacos al pastor and a burrito al pastor). On the table behind the grill, there is someone rolling out the individual tortillas (which are fabulous and obviously super fresh). After they make your choice of dinner, you step to the side to pay (cash only) for what you've ordered. They also have horchata at this point, which is not to be missed and a huge cup is only $2. After you've gotten your food, you can walk over to another table. This is filled with salsas, spicy avocado sauce, onions, Pico, cucumber, and limes (I feel like I'm forgetting something). So you add your own in whatever quantities. Make sure next time you're in town to stop by here. I saw other food trucks in the area but I can say that this made my evening better FOR SURE.

You can also find these tasty treats calling your name after a night on the town after partying it up at a club in downtown Los Angeles or Hollywood. As you stroll out of such venues, if you're lucky, often you'll find a little latina lady in her 40s, handling a jerry-rigged shopping cart, with a hot oven pan used as a hot plate, stacked on top of the shopping cart, with a disposable flame underneath. Laid across that pan, you'll find several sizzling hotdogs wrapped in bacon, along side sizzling onions and jalapenos, and some warm hotdog buns. There are often several carts in various corners; sometimes they compete for your business, sometimes, everyone falls in line. Whatever the situation, you're either drunk or severely excited to have one or five. "You want Eryting?" (meaning grilled onions, green bell peppers, ketchup, mayo) , the hotdog lady asks? Yes, as you get ready to hand her your $5 bill getting ready to devour your hotdog immediately after the exchange. Tijuana Dogs are a Downtown Los Angeles staple. They are like cheesedogs to Philly, reindeer dogs to Alaska, Halaal carts to New York, deep dish pizzas to Chicago. I've seen the police come by and snatch a poor lady's cart once. A lot of the hot dog vendors have their PayPal/Venmo QR codes taped onto their cart. You can't tell the difference between the TJ dogs sold here and the ones in Tijuana. I've personally never gotten sick after eating these. Service is quick, there may be a bit of a language barrier, but not enough to prevent your purchase of a hot tasty TJ dog.
