Dos tortas sonideras con todo
Jasmine A.

My favorite spot when in the mood for a authentic torta! I've placed an order over the phone before & picked up and I've eaten there as well! There is always usually a wait which is okay with me because they're made by order! There's a liquor store around the corner where you can also grab drinks and snacks while you wait. It has shaded area to sit Down and eat! The tortas are big and filling! My go to is always the sonidera con todo !!

The spot!

I had the sonidora torta and it was fire!!! The salsa was the right amount of spiciness for the torta. Order before if you don't mind waiting 30-40 min for a torta this place gets packed. Parking sucks so pre order. I will be back! It's in the back of the liquor store parking lot.

This place is a hidden gem in south LA . Tortas here are so good! Order ahead or be ready to wait at least 30 minutes. This place is takeout only . Parking is available but limited . Ambiance here is mostly Spanish speaking.

Bristle in food from what seems like a metal sponge or brush.
Megi C.

We have been coming here for over 25 years and sadly this is the first time we have had a bad experience. The meat quality was poor with this order. Did not feel fresh and super hard to chew like carrboard. There was also a type of metal bristle from what could've been a sponge or brush. We just hope they're more careful for others.

My boy picked up some tortas for the squad and the team at Torta Movil came through once again. The sauce was out of this world. - @eatingwithricardo

Torta cubana

This is the BEST place to go for a Mexican torta. I always order la torta Cubana and it's a torta for 2. I always share with my sister because I can never finish it on my own but it's so delicious and the salsa they give you pumps up a good spicy ness to every bite. I highly recommended eating from here. I highly recommend doing phone call orders ahead of time. It's usually 35-40 min wait.

Steak sandwich

"Never judge a book by its cover", never! This place came as a recommendation from a friend and I was very skeptical and wary of this place bc the size of the venue. I mean it's no bigger than 10ft x 6ft. In my mind, how good can it really be!? I have driven or walked by it nearly 100 times in the last 4 months and I've never seen any guests eating and taking food Togo. Today I stopped by for a bite, and hand to god it's by far the best torta, sandwich, sub, "whatever you want to call it" in Los Angeles! Just south of Adams at on San Pedro st is this diamond in the rough venue that sells a gigantic torta ( half the size of my iPad) filled with avocado, onion, peppers, and your choice of meat, I got steak. Every bite tastes like the first, melting in your mouth. My tastebuds were going crazy telling my brain to keep eating. I couldn't believe how delicious this sandwich was and for only $5.00. I arrived at 430pm and by the time I got my food at 5pm, I saw nearly 200 Togo bags leave the counter. I was blown away. This is definitely a must stop by and I encourage every fellow yelper or anyone looking for a amazing meal where your dollar is stretched to go and get a torta. Thank you for reading!

Great food and prices. But if you're thinking about ordering on a weekend after 10:00 AM, be prepared to wait cause it gets busy.

Good food. Veggie burrito was really good. Wanted a bean burrito but didn't seem be on menu. Service was good and helpful. Ambiance is taco truck good. Nice seating, canopy, condiments, security guard. Maybe even a bathroom with service station nearby! English is good tho Spanish might be more appreciated.

However, only a tiny fraction of these pop-ups boasts a substantial crowd -- unsurprisingly, the bustling operations tend to be among the best. One popular taqueria is Tacos Tamix, a mini-fleet of loncheras specializing in Mexico City-style al pastor. Gone are Tamix's streetside trombos, but the Tamix trucks still have sizeable queues late into the night. I first visited the Picu-Union truck on Hoover. The taxi-yellow lonchera and its vibrant LED lights pop out against an otherwise dimly lit block. Parking within the Mobil gas station lot is like a game of Tetris. Metal folding chairs and pop-up tables are scattered underneath E-Z Up canopies. Order numbers, shouted out over the intercom, occasionally break the hum of street traffic. A security guard watches over the operation. We arrived for a late weekend dinner, and Tamix maintained a steady stream of customers. We were able to order quickly, and our food was prepared within 10 minutes. We tried multiple Tacos con Queso (Al Pastor, Asada, and Chorizo), as well as Mulitas (Carnitas). The palm-sized tortillas were sprinkled with a moderate portion of meat and an even layer of crispy cheese. Of the meats, I was most impressed by the juicy, flavorful al pastor; however, I was surprised that the taco was not garnished with pineapple. Meanwhile, I found the remaining proteins to be tasty but dry. Otherwise, the tacos were clearly superior to Tamex's sad excuse for mulitas, which were bogged down by flimsy and soggy (rather than crispy and fried) tortillas. Our bill ran $15 (relatively reasonable by LA taqueria standards nowadays), of which half belonged to the disappointing mulitas. While the late-night hours were a major plus, only the taco al pastor was memorably enjoyable; otherwise, the lackluster menu isn't worth a visit out of your way.

Misnomer. When I saw the name of this food truck, I thought this might be Central American's "soul"…read morefood, but it was actually US Southern soul food with a little Latin twist. The only Latin American ingredients were tortilla, store-bought chips and their mango salsa (which was good). I like the idea of putting southern food in tortilla for convenient, food-truck dining, but I would expect a bit more blending of the two cuisines with its name. Zora Neale's Special: perfectly seasoned and grilled tilapia with greens (kale) and Mac n' cheese for $12. They serve it in a hamburger styrofoam box, so it looks rather small, but they load it and are very generous with the portions! I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I must say the greens and Mac n' cheese were quite salty, though. 3 Taco Special: your choice of chicken, beef brisket, fish and/or oxtail(!), which comes with store-bought chips and their mango salsa for $12. Each taco is regularly priced at $4. They allow you to order different kinds of meat per order, which is nice, but they didn't have oxtail at this time. :( The beef brisket was good, but again, a tad on the salty side. For sides, I tried the plantain chips and sweet potato fries. The plantain chips were not chips at all, but fried plantains, which were delicious, but we expected chips. The sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned just right. I also ordered what I thought was watermelon juice, but it was really sugary lemonade with a few pieces of watermelon in it. Again, not what I was expecting. :/ The staff working in the truck was really nice, though, and tried to get orders out quickly.
