Korean Chicken and Waffles. The chicken is on another level, crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside.

Visited on a Sunday evening. We enjoyed every plate that hit our table! Such attention to detail for everything from food, service, and atmosphere. The bartender is excellent, he is very friendly and has an awesome energy! The tapas here are a must-have, all the different flavors go so well together. Such beauty throughout The Fritz!

My friend and I stopped in here absolutely famished and we left completely satisfied. All the food really hit the spot. We decided to go family style and share everything because there were so many tempting menu items we wanted to try. The highlight was definitely the burger. It really hit the spot. The sweet potatoe fries were also delicious. The onion tart was really hyped up but we honestly thought that was just alright. The Mac and cheese was super yummy and comforting. Nice drink selection at the bar and happy they were carrying mezcal! Will definitely return when back in Salida.

Special. Mussels & frites w/AMAZING aioli!

We came here based on a recommendation from a fellow Joyful journeys hot springs goer. This place is adorable & we've probably walked by here several times when in town but since they don't open till 4 we never visited. I love the brick walls & art in this space. We started with an old fashioned & a blood orange margarita. Both were ok. More notable was the La Fin Du Monde on tap! We also decided to get the special which was Mussels & frites. First of all the aioli on the frites & mussels, I'm pretty sure crack was in it, IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! the mussels were humongous, some were gritty & the garlic wine sauce they were floating in could've used salt. We also agreed that when there's a wine sauce bread should be mandatory. Cute place! I'm sure as long as we visit the area we'll stop by & try other specials & small plates & of course get la fin du monde on tap!

Close: Brie chicken sandwich Far: Ahi tuna and brussel sprouts

Really good. The brie & chicken sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The brie is perfectly creamy and compliments the sweet & tart flavors from the apple. The chicken is grilled wonderfully. I tried my friend's prosciutto & pear sandwich as well. I can say all of the same good things about it; the two sandwiches taste very similar. It comes down to whether you prefer prosciutto or chicken (I preferred the chicken slightly). The fries were great too. Crispy and salted to perfection. The ahi was also delicious. The freshness from the cucumber paired with the spice of the aoli for a savory flavor, while the creaminess of the ahi contrasted the crisp wanton excellently. My third friend said his burger was "top ten burgers" The service was very friendly and the wall art was very cool too. We'll definitely be coming back here.

The corn dogs were slightly burnt (in our opinion) but the flavor was very good, we would order again. However I think the chips are a miss....just serve them without them and charge a little less in my opinion, they aren't needed. We liked both sauces. The potatoes we originally ordered with the fried egg but the server forgot (she was very apologetic) and got one out to us after a few mins. The egg honestly did nothing to the dish. We wish the potatoes were crispier for sure but the garlic aoli was good. However, we prob wouldn't order it again. The masa cakes were good, I would order again but nothing mind blowing. Overall it was just ok. I think what kind of set our decision to probably not return is the fact that a table near us had asked the server something (we aren't exactly sure what) and she took their dish back and then proceeded to talk crap about them in the server/kitchen area. My husband said the table didn't hear her but I don't know how they didn't as she was talking very loudly about how "my tables are so annoying today! The things people ask for are crazy" (etc) and it made me really uncomfortable. I used to be a server and can understand frustrations with customers but it was unprofessional to talk crap about them when other customers can hear.

For these reasons, and for the fact that this has been my experience in the past, oh, 10 times I've tried, I had given up. This morning, my husband suggested that we eat at a restaurant alone, together. Now, maybe your life is much more exciting than mine, but this is pretty out there for a weekday night for our family. I reluctantly agreed and we went to 1880 for dinner. As soon as we walked in the door, the beautiful hostess/server, Val, gave us an award-winning smile and seated us promptly. We started ordering food and drinks and out comes one fantastic thing after another. We had the grilled feta and the masa pockets for starters. The feta was, as all the other reviewers have mentioned, wonderful . But the MASA pockets. THE MASA POCKETS!!! These things tasted like Jackie Chan kicked a bag of Fritos in the face, sprinkled fairy dust and unicorn horns on it, and then put it on a plate for me. It came two to an order and I think I could've eaten 77. Unbelievably delicious. So I'm thinking, maybe this is gonna go OK. Then we shared a toro smash burger and a squid ink pasta. The burger had to be the best burger I have ever eaten in my life and, y'all, I eat a lot of burgers. I am a burger aficionado. I'm one of those crazy people that drives across the country to eat at top-rated burger joints. Anyway, that burger truly has ruined burgers for me (I promptly told all my young'ns that I've got to take them to eat the best burger I've ever eaten- pronto). And the squid ink pasta, wow. It had so much going on that I felt like it was the equivalent of leopard print and pearls. I have no idea how this is all working together, but somehow it's magic. All in all, I want to thank l Val and the whole staff at 1880. You all have restored my faith in restaurants. We'll be back- save us a table.

It was cold out, so we appreciated it. The Dogwood has a nice variety of artisanal cocktails on their menu. Our server was very helpful with giving us some options. I didn't have my readers on me and had a hard time reading the menu. So her describing some of the cocktails to me was very helpful. Dogwood has a number of classic drinks, margaritas and martinis. It was a beautiful day so the patio was very comfy; I hate being too hot or too cold when eating, so this was perfect. We took a very long time catching up, but our waitress was extremely friendly and patient. She was great. We ordered a couple of dishes to start (tacos and a salad) and chatted away until we chose our next plates. Each dish that came out was very tasty, beautifully presented, and arrived very quickly. My favorites were the dates and crème brûlée dishes lol. I've had a massive sweet tooth lately so I found these extra yummy. Price was pretty reasonable for two people; our bill came out to be about $75, and that included two mixed drinks as well as all of the food seen here (though don't be fooled because we got two plates of the dates!). The host was pleasant and immediately took us to a table for two. After more than a few minutes, a waitress arrived. I can't even tell you her name, bc she never introduced herself; she basically walked up and asked (almost annoyingly) "hey, are you drinkin' or what?" - the whole night she had this attitude and barely checked on us. More on her later though... I ordered the bomb diggity [bourbon, alchermes, cinnamon, spicy peppers, lemon, szechuan bitters] - it was disappointing for me as I anticipated more "burn and spice" with those ingredients but was actually more on the sweet side, but not a bad cocktail by any means (just less my style). My wife ordered the get squashed [tequila, dry curacao, allspice roasted squash, agave, lime, hickory salt rim] - had this with mezcal instead - which was what I would call a very fun cocktail and would definitely get again! We ordered the Steak tartare for an appetizer, followed by the Red wine cavatelli for the wife and pan roasted colorado striped bass for myself. After a decent amount of wait time, our entrees arrived (delivered by food runners)- We ask, what happened to our appetizer? They indicate they will find our server. Our unnamed waitress comes back to the table and made a comment something to the effect of "the kitchen must have messed it up," no apology, no "let me check on that," just shrugged it off and asked "so do you still want it?" The entrees were good but too much time has passed for me to provide significant detail here, we were also just flustered by the waitress-tartare situation. Ultimately we decided we would still like the steak tartare and would just consider it "dessert" since we had been looking forward to it, and I'm glad we did. It was DELISH. The tots? Fantastic and unique base for the tartare. When the bill came I am pretty sure this is the first and only time our waitress smiled. There was, again, no apology or comped portion of the bill. We did speak with the manager (who was super personable and understanding) to let him know our concerns about said waitress. Overall, the food here is worth it but that waitress should find another job, perhaps one with less human interaction.
