This house salad is one of the best salads I've ever been served, and that's saying a lot. I've eaten salads internationally, and by far this one out paces all of them. So we went in for a first try and I can't say that I hated it. I feel I may need to try it for lunch instead of breakfast but that will be another day. The sandwich was good but it was quite bland. The casserole too was very bland and texture wise wasn't at all my favorite. The cinnamon roll smelled amazing and didn't tast bad either though I can say it was dry. Over all tge food was fine. And although I feel that staff was a bit underdressed they were fantastic with service. I don't think I will be going back for breakfast anytime in the future. Whenever my husband and I are in town visiting family, we eat here regularly. We have breakfast here every morning. I love the quiche and casseroles. Last night, we came in for supper and entertainment. My golden beet salad was delicious, and my husband's BLT was tasty. It was so nice to listen to entertainment someplace other than a bar. Had heard about this place and finally found opportunity to try it out. It's a best kept secret! Wonderful neighborhood eatery with an upscale menu with reasonable prices. My friend and I both enjoyed our conversation and our Oriental Salads, but I didn't think to take a photo of the presentation. Perhaps my writing this three days later may compensate. The Friendly Fox staff was gracious and professional. Even though we live North, we plan to return to samples the rest of the menu. The atmosphere is collegiate, providing lots of windows and WiFi. While stopping in Fort Wayne for our wedding, our photographers recommended this adorable little breakfast place for an early morning shoot/caffeine fix. While coffee made it's way to all of the hands of our wedding party, a Garbage Plate made it into the hands of one of my brothers. While it's his usual diner go-to, he was honestly blown away by how amazing it was. We all tried a bit, and it was seriously some crazy good eats. A menu blurb: "Garbage plate $6.95 -- Biscuits, covered with egg, potato, green onion, tomato, cheddar cheese. bacon and all smothered with sausage gravy" It was fresh, not greasy, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Definitely not what you're expecting when you think of Diner food. The coffee was decent, but the attitude was not so much. We'll be back, that's for sure. To try out one of their recommended quiches, as well as to see if they fixed their attitude. I agree with Kyle Z. It should be called the "Not-so-friendly-Fox". Friendly fox is the only restaurant within walking distance from my job making it an obvious choice, however if it was on the other side of town I would still make the drive. You can't go wrong with any of their salads, sandwiches, or desserts. Also, the key lime pie is a must try. Even though the food and coffee is delicious (always try the monthly special) my absolute favorite thing about the Friendly Fox is their dog friendly patio! read more

Came in for simple breakfast. Waitresses were really nice. I got myself a southwest breakfast wrap, it had a weird taste. After a couple of hours, I had a fever of 101F. So spend my whole weekend fighting food poisoning. This Fox was not so friendly to me! read more

I went to the friendly fox twice and both times I had a positive experience. The first time I went for brunch and I loved my food and ice coffee! The second time I went for dinner and I enjoyed my food. I especially appreciated our waitress, I believer her name was Sophia. She was very attentive on us and she address that there was a party of 10 which meant that our food would be a little delayed. She apologize (even thought it wasn't her fault) and offered a free dessert for our wait. Whatever you guys are doing to train your staff, keep it up. I will definitely be coming here more often because I was so impressed. read more

I've been anxiously waiting for the right opportunity to visit this place. It's kinda out of the way for my family. Finally made it here last night and I can say the wait was worth it. The atmosphere was positive and you do feel the friendliness when you walk in. Our service was good (close to great). All the food we tried was excellent (Gorgonzola flatbread, goat cheese panini, and midnight Cuban). And there are still options on the menu that will bring us back. Now, I don't mean this as a negative, but more of a heads up; this place can get pricey for a family. They don't have any fountain drinks so you get dinged with every drink (shocked to see we spent $20 on drinks and none were alcoholic). But the price won't keep us from coming back; it will just limit how often we can splurge! This is a welcomed addition to The Fort. We just need more of them! read more

This is a hole in the wall neighborhood restaurant with a super helpful staff and excellent food. We thoroughly enjoyed the salads and sandwiches that we ordered. All of the salad dressings are homemade. The maple rosemary vinaigrette may be the best dressing I've ever had. Desserts were excellent too. We had a couple of people that have allergy issues, and the wait staff went out of her way to call the owner to confirm ingredients in the pre-made homemade dressings. Highly recommend!! read more
