Our server seemed like she might have been a bit new, though--when we asked for recommendations, she didn't have any, which is a little unusual, but everything else went smoothly. For the food, I ordered the pork patty and the pea salad. It was my first time trying pea salad, and I really liked it! We also bought a pie to take home for dessert this evening. I tried the Louisiana Cajun Chicken Pasta this evening which featured Cajun grilled chicken breast over cavatappi pasta in a moderately spicy New Orleans style bell pepper and Parmesan cream sauce. The flavors were bold, creamy, and perfectly balanced. As always, the service was top notch. Cassi, my server at the bar, was personable, attentive, and made the evening even better with her friendly professionalism. Brick House Grill continues to impress with great food and warm hospitality. I highly recommend BHG for anyone who is looking for a consistently outstanding dining experience in Huntington.

They were good. But I've had better. I also ordered the tuna appetizer as my entree. Tuna was good, but I just felt the tostadas were overdressed and heavy. That's the only way I can describe it. My companion had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Said it was very good, not anything terrific. Overall, I may come back again before an HU soccer game and try something different. This place is right down the road from us and I've only been once in my life and I'm telling you there aren't much options around here so the fact that I've only been once ...yeah, not a sterling reputation in our parts of the world. However, it was good. My omelette was hot. The food was good and fresh order. I don't think I would get the jalapeño one again, but that's on me. The service was what you would expect for a very rural restaurant and the decor is also what you would expect a little rough around the edges but again the food was good and the stickers were funny.

I didn't ask for extra, just French. $.60 isn't enough to make an issue of, but it does indicate a lack of respect for the customer. I guess they think we are all too dumb to notice. Tip to owner, respect your customers. Do not treat them as a mark to be fleeced, treat them as you would want to be treated.

After being seated in a nice booth we were both impressed by the new additions to the menu and the available options. I eat a very low carb diet though and their ala carte menu was crazy expensive. Within a few seconds we heard a customer order a Bloody Mary and were very impressed with their new alcohol selections for a dinner experience, and mentioned to each other we should give dinner a try next time. My wife ordered a platter with crispy bacon and hash browns and I ordered 3 eggs, some bacon, sausage, and gravy. The food was served in a reasonable time but immediately we noticed the bacon was very chewy and had obviously been cooked early in the day and held in a warning pan. We heard 2 other tables complain about the bacon and thus we decided to throw our 2 cents in. The waitress responded with "we can't tell the kitchen anything" and stated customers constantly complain about the bacon. With my ala carte order the bill ended up being $34 which we felt was ridiculous for a 2 person breakfast. Ultimately we will give it a chance for dinner but "The Fried Egg" will be our choice for breakfast for now on.
