On a whim (and seeing they were booked up that evening) called ahead to ask how the wait was, and were told they were pretty full but had a few bar tables open if we can be there in ten minutes or so. We hustled over there and they promptly sat us. But not only did they seat us, the hostess that spoke with us had popped a reserved tag onto a table after we called- very thoughtful and on top of things considering we didn't ask for that! Server was incredibly helpful with recommendations and extremely personable. Other patrons were also so friendly and it made the entire visit so much more pleasant. Cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu. Food was well made, with familiar favorites turned up a few notches, as well as some beautifully thought out dishes that you would never have expected.

Most recently, I had a buffalo chicken wrap. It was spicier than I expected. A little too hot for me. Luckily I had the mashed potatoes to balance it out. Service consistently above average. If I would criticize anything, it's that the dining room feels worn. Years ago, this place was a fine dining establishment before it shifted into a tavern concept. It's like the interior hasn't been updated since then, so it feels like a worn fine dining room. But I'm reluctant to mark it down for that. It's clean and it's advertised as a tavern. So I figure I'll have that and when she offers something other than fries, I say I'd like the mashed potatoes with gravy, (trying to choose a healthier option), she informs me they don't have gravy. Who serves mashed potatoes without gravy???? I mean seriously???!! So, I go ahead with the mashed without gravy, and hope for the best. Well.....................as could be expected at this point.............the fried Haddock is crusted in "who knows what!", but is the worst "Friday Night Fish Fry" that I have ever had. It was crusted in the most tasteless and over cooked coating that I have ever tasted. It was over cooked as well.
