Great fish fry! Not the friendliest staff. They only take cash, but they have an ATM machine on site.

Turtle Lake Buffet - Beef carving station - first stop in the meat line.

This is a great place to load up on seafood, beef, and chicken on Thursday nights - 3.5 stars…read more The buffet is open on Thursdays and Sundays. Thursdays is by far the best night because that's seafood night. If you like crab legs, you really get a good deal if you go on Thursday nights. You can load up on crab legs, various versions of shrimp, oysters (usually), scallops, mussels, calamari, and last but not least - frog legs! If I go to my local grocery store in the Twin Cities, 2 frozen crab legs are 10 bucks. So it's a bargain to eat all of these crab legs (and the other stuff) for a meager 22 dollars. Of course, they also have sliced roast beef at the beef carving station. There's another version of beef & mushrooms in the self-serve area. They have roast chicken too. The salad bar area is pretty decent. I usually hit this first. It's easy because there's never a line for the salad bar. Then I wait in line for the meat items. One thing I want to mention is that the employees are all really friendly. This is amazing considering how incredibly busy it is and some of the customers are a little rough around the edges. There's one particularly skinny little dude that I usually see running in & out with food that's very friendly and funny as hell, cracking jokes with customers. I always say "hi" to him if I see him. There are a couple of things that keep me from giving out 4 or 5 stars: 1. The dessert area is a little light in variety and low in quality compared to other buffets. They have pies, bars, small cake pieces, and a soft serve ice cream machine. But all in all, there's isn't nearly as much variety as I usually see at buffets and they aren't that great. 2. Since smoking is allowed in the casino, the whole place is totally permeated with cigarette smoke. As a guy that grew up with second hand smoke, this whole thing is a little nauseating. It seems like nearly everyone has a heater in one hand and a brewski in the other hand. 3. The line is usually very long. The buffet room is pretty small and I'm amazed with how well they do with the space they have. Nonetheless, the line is a pain. If you're hungry and if you're close to Taylor's Falls, check them out! -Daddy Maxx Retro

The second row of meatballs and seafood. Third row cooked entree. Other side is the sauce station and sushi. All you can eat, however the soup base and hot pot is at your table. They will even make custom dipping sauces if you ask them. For me, the key to this place is timing. I ask them to wait to bring the soup until after I get some appetizers and the hibachi. Then I order soup and get a plate of items for the soup. Don't forget to check out the desserts! Make sure you cook the items in your hot pot long enough!! Add items in batches, starting with the ones that take longest to cook. Don't forget to stir! The fatty pork and beef are my favorite soup choices. I don't ever get the chicken, because it seems a bit risky. I've already been here twice and will be back soon! Don't pay much attention to the negative reviews. I'm convinced they did't cook their ingredients properly, did't ask for help, or let items from the buffet sit at their table too long before they ate them. Foods need to be at a certain temp and if you go get 2 plates from the buffet then come back to soup and hibachi, it will be difficult to eat everything at once. This is where the timing comes into play. Don't be shy to ask them to wait to serve the soup until after your first trip to the buffet so your appetizers don't get cold.

Food: This is probably the best Mexican around. I ordered…read morethe chimichanga and it exceeded all my expectations. I would highly recommend, especially because it comes with rice and beans. The beef inside tasted very authentic, not to mention delicious. my Sister also got the burrito and enjoyed it a lot. It was very big. The complementary chips and salsa are also a highlight because it's the only salsa I actually like. They also have a small complementary topping and dip bar where you try all kinds of different salsas and other dips and also grab lettuce and limes for you entrée. Over all: food is 9/10 Service: As soon as we walked in a waitress came up to us and seated us. We did not have to wait. She asked us what we wanted to drink. We both got water, but it had lemons in it so it felt fancy. We got our drinks and we're able to order fairly quickly. After we ordered our meal also came very quickly. Our server was very nice and smiley and we got checked on a few times. (Once when we went here our server had this really cool mustache and it honestly just made the whole experience better.) over all: service 9/10 Ambience: The environment is very nice, like if you dress up fancy, you wouldn't feel out of place but you also feel it wouldn't feel out of place if you dressed casual. It doesn't feel cramped but it also isn't overly big. They have lights on the ceiling that moved to the beat of the music that's quietly plain, which is very neat. The fake plants on top of the lights dangling down at a very neat effect. Makes me feel like I'm in Mexico! Over all: 9/10 Over all: Would highly recommend La Authentica (especially the chimichangas) whether your dining alone on a date or as a family
