We ordered cocktails to start. A Black Cherry Old Fashioned and a Raspberry Mojito. Both were under $10 and delicious. For lunch, I ordered the Dalles House Burger; Hand pattied burger with two cheeses, bacon, onion, lettuce, tomato, and thousand island dressing on the side $17.99. The flavors were good but I asked for it to be cooked to medium temperature and it was very well done. Disappointing. The fries were hot and crispy. My husband ordered the Fish Tacos. Three soft flour tortillas filled with crispy fried white fish, shredded cabbage, fresh pico de gallo, and a zesty cilantro lime aioli. Served with tortilla chips, sour cream, and salsa $17.99. He said the tacos were tasty but the tortilla chips tasted store bought. Despite my burger being overcooked, we did have a nice experience. We would like to try it again but for dinner.

The wine choices are minimal but they have a variety of wine available from a nearby winery called Dragonfly. I think that it is great they support a local winery by serving their wine. They do not have beer on draft, only bottles. We were craving burgers and they had several interesting burgers to choose from. I chose the Escape burger with bacon, smoked Gouda, sautéed onions and hibachi sauce. Absolutely delicious and cooked to order. My husband ordered the Shanghai Nights burger with Korean sauce, Asian Slaw and hibachi sauce. He enjoyed his burger as well. Escape is proud they do not use a fryer in the restaurant so they serve the burgers with chips and a pickle spear. The menu is small but super eclectic! So interesting! Don't brag that your boneless, country style pork ribs are cooked for 18 hours, when the result is dry and bland. My king prime rib was served later so the hashbrowns could cook, according to the waitress, yet the hashbrowns that my mom and I both had were okay on the outer edges, but not warm/cooked on the inside. The prime rib had decent flavor, but it was tough and required a lot of sawing through with a steak knife. The best part of the visit was our waitress Hannah; food was mediocre.
