Welcoming, clean with plenty of seating. Food was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. It is kind of hidden if you don't know it is there you could miss it. I am not a fan of refried beans as I don't find they have flavor. The refried beans here have flavor.

Food was very good. We moved up here from the southwest years ago. Such a pleasant surprise to get some authentic Mexican food. The menu is mostly Al a cart. Prices are fair. Service is superb. Ambiance is industrial with speakers in the ceiling blasting music in Spanish. Again extremely authentic. Portion sizes are very nice. Highly recommend.

3 asada tacos. chips and queso

many things. it felt like a subway in there. wasn't my favorite seating. and very cold. it's 1 degree outside and just about the same inside. subway vibes. the food was so good. let me be the bird chirping in your ear, singing get the damn chimichanga. non negotiable. the tacos (i didn't try) but looked good and my friend liked them. he tried mine tho, the chimichanga, and he was like damn that's better then mine. queso is exactly what you expect. thank goodness server was very reserved and cold. and quiet. made it uncomfortable at times. but he's just doing his best and that's okay. it's hard out there. i get it will be coming back again, you just gained a loyal customer.

High quality food. I would give 6 out of 5. They had every option of authentic meat, and all were delicious and well cooked. I recently had shrimp ceviche in Milwaukee which was watery salsa with a few small pieces of shrimp. Their ceviche was loaded with shrimp, avocado and fresh vegetables. This will be my must stop on the way to Hayward.

This picture doesn't do the food justice.

What a wonderful little joint to eat at, if I lived closer to Rice Lake I would be eating here weekly at an absolute minimum!!! Would I be even fatter? I'd guess so. Would it be worth it? YES!! Outstanding authentic Mexican food at a very good price!! I'm over an hour away, but I will be back and very soon!! Friendly staff and the best salsa bar my fat ass has ever seen in MN or WI, it includes at least 5 house made sauces (the white sauce was amazing) all of the sauces were very good. But to have cheese and sour cream included on a salsa bar is unheard of in my vast experience as an elite food reviewer! I had a a bowl with both Al Pastor (amazing and full of pineapple) and barbacoa (also very good). I ordered some Pastor to go for my smoke show sexy wife and it warmed up perfectly hours later!!

Steak burrito - no rice. $15.99 and comes with no sides!

You walk in and order at the counter, seat yourself and they bring your food to you at your table. There were a lot of workers there eating lunch, that tells you the food is good. I saw a lot of lunch plates and they looked amazing. They also have a small buffet of items and wasn't sure what that was all about? I went for the steak burrito and asked for no rice in it. Why in WI does every Mexican restaurant add rice to burritos (gross)? The burrito was $15.99 omg so expensive! And it wasn't even a meal! I noticed after sitting down I didn't have silverware, so I looked around and noticed a small buffet bar in the back corner with sides and found my silverware. Not sure what the buffet was for or if it was included in my meal. I did not take anything because I had no clue? Didn't take long and there it was - I looked down and the burrito was covered in white cheese sauce. Why when you order Mexican food in Wisconsin they cover it in cheese sauce (ugh)? All I tasted was that salty cheese sauce, I couldn't taste the burrito! I would stop again but order something else and ask to not cover my food in salty cheese sauce! So - still searching for a real burrito in Wisconsin!

Al pastor taco with a green sauce and sour cream

Food is terrific Al pastor taco is the best chunks of pineapple. I will drive the 25 minutes just for their food. Nacho and cheese give me a pail of the cheese dip. Nice people that work the counter

When visiting family in Rice Lake we happened upon this quick casual restaurant. By far one of the most authentic Latin places around. As vegan diners we we happy they have the option for their tacos, bowls and burritos to make them with a veggie mix as a protein option. Their corn tortillas taste homemade, in fact everything is a flavor explosion for your mouth. Our favorite part of the restaurant is the salsa bar. One of the days we went they even had a flavorful cactus salsa, but hands down our favorite was the unique coffee salsa. This has become our go-to place every visit to Rice Lake.

This is a great place to load up on seafood, beef, and chicken on Thursday nights - 3.5 stars…read more The buffet is open on Thursdays and Sundays. Thursdays is by far the best night because that's seafood night. If you like crab legs, you really get a good deal if you go on Thursday nights. You can load up on crab legs, various versions of shrimp, oysters (usually), scallops, mussels, calamari, and last but not least - frog legs! If I go to my local grocery store in the Twin Cities, 2 frozen crab legs are 10 bucks. So it's a bargain to eat all of these crab legs (and the other stuff) for a meager 22 dollars. Of course, they also have sliced roast beef at the beef carving station. There's another version of beef & mushrooms in the self-serve area. They have roast chicken too. The salad bar area is pretty decent. I usually hit this first. It's easy because there's never a line for the salad bar. Then I wait in line for the meat items. One thing I want to mention is that the employees are all really friendly. This is amazing considering how incredibly busy it is and some of the customers are a little rough around the edges. There's one particularly skinny little dude that I usually see running in & out with food that's very friendly and funny as hell, cracking jokes with customers. I always say "hi" to him if I see him. There are a couple of things that keep me from giving out 4 or 5 stars: 1. The dessert area is a little light in variety and low in quality compared to other buffets. They have pies, bars, small cake pieces, and a soft serve ice cream machine. But all in all, there's isn't nearly as much variety as I usually see at buffets and they aren't that great. 2. Since smoking is allowed in the casino, the whole place is totally permeated with cigarette smoke. As a guy that grew up with second hand smoke, this whole thing is a little nauseating. It seems like nearly everyone has a heater in one hand and a brewski in the other hand. 3. The line is usually very long. The buffet room is pretty small and I'm amazed with how well they do with the space they have. Nonetheless, the line is a pain. If you're hungry and if you're close to Taylor's Falls, check them out! -Daddy Maxx Retro

She always talked about it and would eat here any time she was back in the area. I hoped to visit with her someday. She was supposed to go in July 2025 with some family, but was sick and not able to make the trip from her home in KC. Unfortunately she recently passed away, and our family gathered in Wisconsin for her memorial service. Pine Ridge was so gracious and accommodating and opened early for about 30 of us to visit and have grandma's favorite fried fish experience after we had her service. It was unbelievably good, and I now know why grandma loved coming to Pine Ridge all those years. Nothing better than being with family enjoying amazing food. The parking lot was packed, as was the bar and waiting area. Fortunately, we had called ahead and were immediately seated. On the way to our table, I noticed the generous salad bar. I was excited to give it a whirl. Our waitress was efficient, just not overly friendly or engaging. She dutifully took our drink orders and came back a short time later with our old fashioned drinks and a Tom Collins. The old fashioned were muddled, if that is a make-or-break for you. Everyone liked their drink. The menu was a solid supper club menu; a little something for everyone. Our party had two cod dinners, a walleye dinner and a ribs/chicken dinner. We then took a stroll to the salad bar. In addition to two soup (clam chowder, cheese) the actual salad portion offered a wide array of choices. It was very good. While dining, I also noticed it being frequently refreshed. Our meals came with good timing for the completion of our salads. Each of the fish dishes was well proportioned and was appropriately hot. Our ribs/chicken diner love their ribs. They waited an additional 25 minutes for their 1/4 chicken and said it wasn't worth the wait. Aside from the dining room being somewhat noisy, it was your standard northern Wisconsin supper club dining area. Overall, the service could have improved with a smile and a check on the need for a second round of drinks. I eventually requested a redo of water and did get a full pitcher in return. The price was reasonable, the food was good. Would I return in the future? Definitely.
