Very disappointed in the meal earlier this week. I had the Works omelette which I found to come out with the interior of the omelette cold. The home fries were completely over done hard and inedible. My granddaughter had the banana french toast which she liked. There are better choices a short distance i do not think I would go back. read more

For most of the past year I would have given five stars to what had become my favorite breakfast spot. The Flying Egg was a place where I previously couldn't think of any changes to be made; a rare find these days. Unfortunately, however, a recent visit just wasn't the same. We ordered tea, expecting the usual assorted choices from Tea Forte to be brought out. We were really let down when we received Lipton. Lipton, really? Apparently management recently decided to cheap out and remove Tea Forte from their options (hint, hint - bring it back). This might sound silly, but it was just another thing that made this place so unique and a pleasure to visit. If we wanted Lipton we wouldn't drive 30 minutes to dine here, and instead have it served to us at any old, dumpy diner. There was also a somewhat disorganized vibe that we hadn't experienced before. The food was still excellent, but felt incomplete with how things started off for us that morning. Please make some adjustments and be back to the place I raved about to so many people. I hope I can update to five stars if/when things get back to a previous standard. read more

Excellent food, service, and ambiance. First time here- I got the three meat cast iron skillet because they were out of smoked salmon. That's okay- bc I was SO happy with my second choice. Bf got the chorizo skillet and the obscure Dutch baby. I thought the first two would come out before the Dutch baby, which takes about 30 mins, but all three came at once- the very kind waiter kept our coffees full while we waited and conversed- So that's fine. I like to sip and actually drink my coffee- if you're starving you may want to request some food things while waiting just FYI. Our skillets were blaze. Seasoned really well didn't think I'd like the chipotle hollandaise as much as I did and my biscuit was homemade and banging with the perfectly poached eggs. It was just soooo good. I can't eat the Dutch baby bc I'm sucrose intolerant but it looked good. A mix between a pancake and crepe type thing, with a blueberry compote. Bf liked it a lot and a few people when walking in lost their shit and was like "what is thattt." Just get it. It's a steal at 8.95 Cute place, cute breakfast that's not too over the top, but just enough different to feel real special about. read more

What a great place to come to! Everyone is super friendly and this place is super busy! I thought I was going to read while I wait for my breakfast to arrive, but I had more fun watching everyone. The line never ended, everyone working together and with a huge smile on their faces! Breakfast was wonderful! This will become my go to breakfast place!!! read more

I would love to give this adorable Restraunt 5 stars but we had the worse waitress ever. She clearly hates her job and should be working behind the scenes not one on one with paying customers. She was annoyed when we asked for refills of our tiny orange juices. She walked by and I asked if she could stop back because we need refills. She came back in a few minutes and said "what kind of refills do you need?" I said orange juice and can we please have water also? "She signed and said How many waters do you need?" She returned and set them all right in front of me. That was weird. She forgot some of the food and when we asked her about it she clearly wasn't happy with us. It's a shame we wanted to have a nice breakfast but she clearly didn't want to be there on a Sunday am. On the bright side. As we were leaving this adorable sweet waitress squatted down to my granddaughter's level to comment on her shirt and how cute she was! That one is a keeper!! read more

Hidden little gem in downtown Bethlehem. Great service and selections. Really appreciate all their gluten-free options.

Tofu scramble is delicious, but it's also a little expensive considering the amount I got with my order. Ordered with a group of 8 people and one order was forgotten, which is fine it happens, but I was definitely was disappointed with the quantity. Everyone else said their food was great read more

Here's a breakfast gem if you are visiting Bethlehem PA. Quaint farm to table style meals. The servers are very friendly and on top of their game be very attentive to the tables. I definitely recommend eating here. read more

I've given this place about 4 different chances and I think the service just gets worse and worse with each visit. Sat down at 1:00 PM and didn't get our food till 2:15PM. The waitress profusely apologized but the service was just extremely bad and seemed like a poorly managed restaurant. Drinks were okay but no silverware was on our table, no QR code's for the menu and food was average. An egg sand which should not take over an hour to make and serve. It's such a shame because the location and interior is perfect but the service is severely lacking. Would be a cute coffee and light breakfast spot. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Meh it was ok. I went there around 1 and decided to get breakfast I maybe had too high hopes as I wasn't that impressed. Omelette was very thin like a crepe and not much flavor, homefries were decent but overall not that impressed. Service was slow too. I didn't hate it just didn't love it. read more

Interiors says, "this place is the bomb" BUT two stars say's it all. Skillet items greased out. Of course you can't mess up waffles and pancakes. Stick with that or simple eggs item, otherwise average place in a really nice place read more

My mom and I went to The Flying Egg for the first time today...for my Bday. We read great reviews so I thought let's go!! We were greeted by a friendly host who seated us right away. It wasn't packed but they had a good crowd for lunch. Our waiter was very nice and prompt. The two stars are for the wait and for the food...disappointed! The cappuccino and latte were good. My mom ordered the eggs benedict with chorizo and it was okay. The presentation was better than the flavor. I ordered the chicken and waffle...it was so dry!! The chicken was breaded, very thin but dry. The waffle was just bland even with the gravy...not impressed with the flavors that brought the dish together. I'm all about the food in my reviews but the ambience was cool and everything was clean. The staff on the floor were on top of it but the food was blah! Sorry guys! Many other better options for lunch on Main Street! read more

It's Ok. I'm not going to load up and jump on the bandwagon loving it because it's gourmet (although, it is...that is what you are paying for...the atmosphere). The quality is excellent. The problem is, for the vast majority of us...an egg is an egg. Just because it is organic, cage free, and from the Queen of England's chickens (jk)....I still can't taste the difference really. So when I get Eggs Benedict at $10- $12 a pop...I'm really expecting it to knock my socks off. It just didn't each time I've gone. I have gone there 4 times so I feel it is fair to review the place. Have had the pancakes with indeed are good. Have had a few different Benedicts (again good)....also had a lunch of The Classic with NE Clam Chowder. It was all good. But I can't give 4 or 5 stars for just good, especially at the prices they are asking. The atmosphere is nice. Servers are very nice too. Would I go back....sure. It's well.....good. read more

Went for my birthday back in October with my boyfriend (i know I am a little late reviewing this place) but it was a horrible experience. We didn't make reservations because I was unaware we needed one, but ok it's fine I figured we would wait anyway. We were told it was going to be a "quick 20 mins" we waited an hour. We go in and service was slow and they didn't have something we wanted i forget what it was..My omelette was really good i also forget what one it was but it was good.. but other than that there's tons of other places in the Valley that are better than this place. read more

The aesthetics are cute and all, but we got there at 1 p.m. on a Sunday (lots of empty tables to spare) and our food took at LEAST 40 minutes. Our table had no cutlery when our food arrived so our waiter quickly plopped some on our table. He forgot our waters and ketchup twice. I felt like we kept having to remind him of things our table was missing so it wasn't a pleasant experience. Before we ordered, he also told us of all the food they ran out of?? How do you run out of grits, lox, burgers and tofu before 1 p.m.?!? I ordered the avocado toast bc you can't go wrong with that right? WRONG. I don't even think they used 1/4 of a full avocado. Literally didn't even take a picture of it because of how sad it looked, and that alone should speak volumes. read more

We met friends in Bethlehem for the annual house tour and knew we wanted to try this place out. There was a line but found out it would only be a 30 min wait so I gave my phone number and we went to tour a nearby home. I received a call as we were making our way back... perfect timing, only 20 mins! The flying egg did a fantastic job in the renovations of the space. Cozy, modern and fun. Our server, "Jo", was a real treat and really made our experience memorable. She told us that she was the "singing" server and we looked forward to hearing her.... however, she then notified us that she would have us sing for our meals. She came back with our drink order and we all proceeded to sing a Christmas Carol! Very fitting for the occasion. There was a slight confusion when our plates came out but was handled perfectly and professionally. Not enough to mark down the score. The food was fantastic! Plates were hot and portions perfect. Everyone was very attentive to our needs, and I highly recommend this place. I read other reviews and believe they worked out the issues of first opening. read more

They are known for their Benedict's. I had the classic and it was pretty good. Hubby had the chicken and waffles and that was some of the best we've had. Others in our group had the 3 meat skillet and the Avocado toast. Everyone loved it! Great ambiance and cappuccino. read more

Meh, it was ok. Stopped in on Monday 2/12/18 for an early breakfast. Much to my surprise, the place was busy for a Monday. I was promptly seated with the waiter asking for my drink order. I ordered a hot tea. The waiter returned with a tray of tea bags and a mug of hot water. I proceeded to order Eggs Benny. The plate was plainly presented with 2 small English muffins, thinly sliced ham and poached(real poached!) eggs. The side was breakfast potatoes with large diced peppers and onions. The hollandaise sauce lacked flavor and the potatoes were cold and very dry. I asked for a serrated knife to better cut through the muffins but the waiter forgot. Once my plate was off to the side, my check arrived. Total bill was around $13.00. Sadly, the waiter thought he was keeping the change from the $20 as a tip. Maybe I'll return to try lunch. read more

After waiting to be seated for 45 minutes, we waited for exactly 1 hour to be served our food. Our chicken tasted like it was cooking for that whole hour because it was dry, tough and chewy. Ingredients were missing from a burger (tomato, onion, avocado) but tracking down our server was difficult. She also didn't ask how our food was before setting down our bill despite a lot of food being left on our plates. Won't be back. read more

Nice quaint, comfy, breakfast/brunch spot. I highly reccomend coming to start your day or to take a break for lunch. Bill the server is one of the nicest, most compassionate servers I've ever had. Let me say I would have given this place a 4 or even 5 star had it not been for our server. Nice place. Our waitress was to say the least very inattentive. To be fair other servers were on the spot. Waited almost 15 minutes for just a coffee. Been here 20 minutes and still no food! Received food shortly after my last statement. So about 23 minutes. I will try this place again, only next time I will stay away from Maryanne read more

I really wanted to like this place but there are a few key areas they went wrong in. First is the ambience. The front is quite bright and aesthetically pleasing. The back is dark and looks like a different venue with strange booth seating. The staff is dressed up which is really confusing. It comes across as very pretentious. The service was very courteous but it was not personalized. The food was subpar. I ordered the tofu scramble and the tofu was more chopped than scrambled, underseasoned, and wet. The breakfast potatos were good. My husband ordered the ahi tuna steak burger which came out grey with no sear or grille marks on it. The bun was like a potato bun. A better cooked tuna steak with a rustic whole grain bun would have elevated the dish. His fries were good. The coffee was good. My friend had eggs and seemed to enjoy them. I don't think I will be back. read more

My initial impressions are varied but overall excellent. First, what I had of the menu was all delicious. Their ability to deviate from fixed menu items seems limited but they accommodated me on my omelette creation so I have no real complaints. Second, they're pricey. Now given their location and their adherence to organic products it is understandable but $2.25 to add an egg to your omelette is an eyebrow raiser. I give this restaurant a hardy thumbs up just be aware of what you're walking it if you're expecting "another diner" experience. On a side note, it is a very bad place for a diet. Seriously. If you're watching carb intake you might have to stick to the add-on side of the menu read more

Currently writing this review as we wait an hour for our food. Waiter was not familiar with the menu. Will return with food reviews. Back after 1 hour and 20 minutes. Food was actually good. Experience was kind of ruined because of the wait. We never saw our waiter again after ordering. They might just be having a bad day due to the busy holidays but it was not great. read more

This place is definitely not as good as it used to be, burnt potato's that had way too much salt, toast was not buttered which I asked them to do, waitress seemed PRE occupied.. Not going to recommend or go back.. read more

A great addition to Main Street! I came here with my mom and we really enjoyed ourselves. It's a great space- clean and fresh with beautiful and simple decor. The staff was very friendly. My mom ordered the avocado toast (which looked simple but delicious!) I ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict which was amazing! We also shared the apple waffle which was just sweet enough (I recommend it). Very reasonable prices and good portions. For just opening, I thought everything was pretty great! I will be back to try their famous dutch baby! read more

The Flying Egg - Avocado Toast with organic egg and salad. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The service here was nothing but terrible. The 4 of us sat and waited for over an hour for our food, which came out cold. The omelets did not have melted cheese, the toast was straight-up soggy, and our potatoes were stone cold. When we kindly and respectfully brought it up to our waitress, she was very understanding, however, the manager was not. He refused to speak to us and he also refused to compensate for the lack of quality. "He doesn't want to do anything about it," said the waitress about the wimpy, so-called manager. Several other tables sat down after us and received their food first. We will NOT be returning to this establishment due to poor management and people skills. Please, save your money and walk across the street to eat at Johnny's. There was only one chef at Johnny's and their food and service blew Flying Egg out of the water. Don't make the same mistake we did. read more

Wonderful food, great atmosphere and wonderful service. Zoraida was an amazing server who made great suggestions, and kept our coffee coming. After my experience at my last visit, I came back with a few more friends and high hopes that this meal would be just as good as the last. The ambience was the same as last time and not as packed as last time but, still relatively busy. Things started out well when we got off the 30 minute waiting list 20 minutes early but, quickly went downhill. The service was not at all as good my last visit. The food took way to long to come out and when it did it was cold. I got the veggie burger and loaded tots (part of the restaurant week menu). The burger definitely didn't taste that good and I probably won't order it again. The tots were great but, would have been way better if they were warmer. I'll need to give this place another chance but, it doesn't look like this will become my go-to brunch spot. read more

I tried it out since it's still pretty new. It didn't disappoint! I had the South of the Border eggs Benedict, and it hit the spot! Service was friendly and prompt. I had coffee, and my server was prompt with refills, even though I had 3 cups while I was there. I was impressed with the details, like organic eggs and stevia on the table. All-in-all, I was impressed with the food and service, and will go back again. read more

It's a shame that I love the food at the Flying Egg but I completely disagree with their model for reservations and the like. I got here around 9:15 am on a Saturday and inside the restaurant it's barely half full. Outside it's about 3/4 full. But yet when trying to get a table for 1 they said they couldn't seat me because they have many "reservations" for the morning. Sure I could chock it off to COVID and what not but that's clearly not the issue since NO staff are wearing masks. The appropriate response could have been oh we're short staffed but by my count there were at least 5 wait staff on with at least 2 with much downtime for idle chatter. I'm going to have to begin my hunt for a new breakfast/brunch spot sadly. Super disappointing TFE. read more

I have been here seven times since they opened, and service is still an issue. I went there this morning with my wife after the big historic area yard sale. The waiter brought our coffee and took our order, that was the last time we saw him. The runner brought our food, no refills on coffee, no check to see if everything came out ok or if we needed anything else. I had to get the hostess to get my check. One would have thought that she would have addressed the waiter. I had to take my check back to the hostess to have her charge my card. The sad part was that it was not only me, but it was happening to 3 other tables around me. The hostess should have addressed the issue with the manager and corrected the issue. It's going to get to a point where the service is going to affect this business no matter how great the kitchen is cooking food. read more

My wife and I ordered a breakfast skillet and a veggie burger. The skillet was cold. The Impossible burger at Burger King was tastier than the burger here. The service was slow. It took forty minutes for the food to arrive. The waitress did not apologize but simply indicated they only had one chef. She was MIA for most of the time we were there. I received very few French fries with the burger. The waitress did not inquire what we thought of our experience. read more

Wish I could tell you how the food was but we gave up on this place. The hostess was telling people it would be 5 minutes until we were seated but after having a reservation for 10:45 and waiting 30 minutes and still not being seated, we gave up and left. Also heard orders were taking an hour and a half in the kitchen. For eggs and other breakfast items. Unbelievable and terribly managed establishment. The whole point of a reservation is not to have to wait! read more
