I LOVE THE FLOWER BUCKET! They have exceeded any of my expectations for a floral shop. I initially found the Flower Bucket by a simple Google search. I needed flowers for my sister's birthday. While they are still open for business, their actual store is closed. However, they bring the flowers right out to your car! I don't mind going inside to pick things up, but it's super convenient of them to bring it out! Amy and her team are SOOO nice and kind. I cannot say enough good things about the Flower Bucket. Love to find new shops on Burnet Rd and this one had garnered many favorable reviews. I went to their website, theflowerbucketaustin.com, called the shop, discussed some choices, placed an order with pick up time 5 days later, and that was that. Only that was not that. When I got ready for pickup, my GPS mapped "The Flower Bucket" to another address entirely. It would have been helpful to know ahead of time that there is no longer a Flower Bucket. There is, however, a Charlotte's Fiesta Flowers. And it IS on Burnet. About the flowers. I ordered a beautiful orchid corsage. On the website, it showed two very pretty and very full fuchsia orchids with ornamentation, but what I received was one very tiny orchid without much extra flair at all. Upon request, the staff was willing to make reasonable adjustments by adding more flowers (white rose) and greenery. About the shop. I am more than willing to give them a second chance. Man, I really wanted to love this place but my flowers really didn't turn out the way I thought they would. When I met with Samantha back in August my family and I really liked her. She was very warm and professional. We ordered a bridal bouquet, a toss bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 boutonnieres, and 2 corsages. This came out to $509 which I thought was a little steep, but not unusual for the "wedding markup." The day of the wedding (December 7th) when I walked in and saw the flowers waiting for me at the venue, I was pretty disappointed. The $175 bouquet was WAY smaller than I expected and its not like I picked extravagant flowers. There were tulips, gerber daisies, a few white roses, and a hydrangea with my own brooches stuck in here and there. The tulips were sticking way up out of the cluster and looked funny. I even considered cutting them apart and super gluing them down into the cluster where they should have been. The $50 red rose toss bouquet had FIVE roses and some baby's breath and berries in it. Had I known they were charging me $10 a stem I would have never agreed to that insanity. The boutonnieres did not come out like the photos I brought in showing what I wanted. They did not have the variety of different green leaves like I expected. It was mostly berries and babies breath with one green leaf. The corsages were way smaller than what I expected to get for $35 a piece. They were made of white carnations which is pretty much the cheapest flower out there. I expected more than just a few tiny ones for that price. The positive things I can say are that everything was fresh and well constructed. Nothing fell apart during the night or ever looked wilted. The flowers were pretty, but not what I had imagined in size for what I paid. I'm really sad the flowers turned out this way and I'm left feeling this way after having such a positive impression back in August. As I would never expect to receive flowers to the office from my wife, she decided to try and provide me a big surprise with all our C suite leaders in office I think it is important to note a he ordered and plan for this over a week ago, so this is definitely not a last minute story. Well after a busy day I headed home at 5pm and called my wife as I was heading home. She kept probing me and asking me questions on did anything special happen to me today. Well after several no's she told me that she tried to have flowers sent and didn't know what happened. Hearing that truly upset me but not knowing what happen I was still a bit in awe. Then I noticed a missed text from an unknown number and apparently it was Bill from the flower bucket telling me to come to the bottom floor asap as he does not have "elevator access"!?! Well we don't have badge access elevates are we share building space with others so he could have easily rode up the elevator and delivered them to our front desk. But no instead he left. Well I received them the next day (today) and when I spoke to my wife to see if she got her money refunded she said no, they just sent her back $10 and sorry it was late. Extremely unacceptable and horrible approach for any business to take by not putting themselves in the customer shoes. This wasn't a late happy meal, this was a genuine gesture that was only meant for one day and you fumbled the ball completely and refused to make it right. I have stopped in to get a bouquet now twice, totally off the cuff with no call ahead. The ladies at TFB have been extremely kind and helpful and produced absolutely stunning bouquets for me. I have given minimal direction in what I want, just a price ballpark and maybe a color I like. I'm not the flower expert, they are, so I like to let them be creative. For both arrangements I have been blown away, as have the recipients of the bouquets. The feedback that I've received, is that the flowers really lasted longer than typically expected. You all really helped me so much. I called explaining my little nephew had passed away unexpectedly the day before and I was searching for a florist to make him a deserving floral arrangement with his mother's favorite flowers -- yellow roses with red edges - not easy to come by on short notice. No one else had them, tried to find them, or could make a full cross or heart arrangement on such short notice. These gals worked magic within hours and had a gorgeous heart arrangement with banner and a teddy bear all the way to Pflugerville in time for his viewing. At some point during the discussion, Ralph the owner joined in. Mom said both of them were friendly, professional, and did a flawless job transforming her initial vision into a reality. Each centerpiece was featured in a low, square, very modern vase. Guests were treated to a gorgeous burst of color, which included large roses in both fuchsia and orange, hydrangeas, dahlias (which were special ordered), baby calla lilies, and the unique cocks comb in deep fuchsia. The filler was a bright lime green and each centerpiece featured a large leaf folded over for that perfect finish. Ralph said that the mix of traditional and exotic flowers would be excellent conversation pieces, and indeed, they were. The flowers were delivered on time and undamaged to the venue, and they were absolutely beautiful. And I totally took one home. 5 Stars for The Flower Bucket! I called the Flower Bucket for a last minute custom order lei that a group of my family members chipped in to purchase. Considering it was UT graduation weekend I figure I'd take my chances here than a grocery store. I should have gone to the grocery store. The lady did well on completing the order quickly but it was not pretty. She claimed she did her best and it was the first time she had ever made a lei but she was happy with it. The carnations were ok because that's what they had on hand. Understandable. She also included orchids which I found a few but you really had to dig for them. The carnations lasted a couple days but the orchids died that night. She also put in leaves but the placement and size made the whole lei ugly. The leaves were huge and they stuck out oddly. A few days later I called and discussed with her the dissatisfaction the group of us felt about the final product. I asked her to work with me. She stated that usually when they have a lei order, it's prepackaged by her distributor. She either buys them as is or it's a kit with instructions to put it together. I would say if that's the case, then she's a beginner not an experienced lei maker and she shouldn't have agreed to the project. The product was definitely over priced. In any case, before this discussion about our dissatisfaction, she was a lovely person. After I brought up my issues with her, she become very defensive and stubborn. After a long phone call, she said she would think about it and call me back. She never called me back. I called a few times but had no response. I really didn't want a full refund (which I didn't get which is fine) but just a professional conversation about her decision on whether or not she would work with me. Instead I was ignored. The customer service post sale is just as important as pre-sale, even if your answer is no. So, expensive lesson learned but once is enough. read more

What ever happened to quality control? How about caring that you do your job well? A sweet, sweet friend gives me flowers every birthday. May 13th rolls around and low and behold, there is a floral delvery person at the door. Staff interaction aside, the flowers included the arrangement notes left for the person making the bouquet. Simple carelessness. However, the note specified that the arrangement was missing "white daisy poms" and to add them before delivery. Also on the note was a statement to reject the order if it could not be filled. Well, they filled it half-assed and gave it to me with the note so I knew how half-assed it was. My true opinion is that they earn 2 stars, however, my birthday falls nears Mother's Day--- likely one of the busiest flower holidays. That said, I can understand that the Flower Bucket and other floral stores must have been very busy for a few weeks and low on materials from the holiday rush. That doesn't excuse them, rather, explains the situation. Shouldn't inventory records prevent from overcommitting to orders you can't fill? Meh, I wish you the best, Flower Bucket. I don't buy flowers every day, but always always always I bought from this company. Way back in the mid 90s I went to their office on S Lamar and they always wowed me with their selection and arrangements. Called this morning to order going-away flowers for a beloved staff member. Ordering took a while, not sure why. The person seemed annoyed with their system, and I tried to commiserate, but I'll bet that I sounded less than enthusiastic by the end. Still, we got it done. Received confirmation email and card was charged at 953 AM. My office is central Austin, 2 miles from downtown. I asked for no later than 4 PM delivery because after that point - she's gone! I told the person that money was not an issue, please just make something memorable. The quality of the arrangements has always been outstanding. Near the end of the day I realized that the flowers had not arrived- it was a busy day. I called and no attempt was made to rush something over, they asked for the person's home address. Tried the Flower Bucket for this Valentine's Day. My coworker had 3 bouquets to send out and had this place recommended. First impression - Nice arrangements, not the run of the mill stuff, very creative. The planters or vases are also different and not all just tan or black ceramic vases. They have many plants and flowers I haven't seen at other florists. Shipping them around the US was not a problem at all and customizing the arrangements was easy. The staff here is super friendly and accomodating, just a pleasure to do business with. Though I was just waiting for my friend, one employee took 10 minutes to walk through the store and tell me about different arrangements and plants. I'd read great reviews online but the staff could not have been less helpful. Getting any information was like pulling teeth. Fabulous. I used this company for my wedding. I first talked to Always-and-Forever-Florist up north. I was completely put off. The consultant spent more time bragging then helping. She put down what I liked telling me things like its silly to have loose flower pedals, a bride should choose the colors of the wedding based on the bridesmaid dresses and not the bridesmaid dresses based on the colors. Personally, I think she was missing a chromosome and was not quite sure how she was so successful (if I recall, she was the owner but I may be mistaken). So I asked around and was told to check out the flower bucket. Told the guy my ideas, what I wanted, asked for his opinion. He said no problem. He did what he said. It was the day before my bridal portrait and I realized it had not even occurred to me that I needed a bouquet. What a flake! When I picked it up, they had it in a vase with cool water and put in a special box so it wouldn't tip over in the car. I received flowers for my birthday from Flower Bucket on Monday afternoon, just 3 days ago: gerber daisies, snapdragons and pink roses. It's now Thursday morning and all flowers have died except for the pink roses. I've had gerber daisies last up to two weeks. They have a much longer life than 3 days. 1-2 of the daisies only lasted TWO days. Needless to say, I threw out all the flowers this morning---all but the pink roses. This is the 2nd time in a year's time I've had a bad experience with the Flower Bucket. Very disappointed, esp. for my sister who spent good money to surprise me for my birthday. Way to go Flower Bucket! I will never use them and I will let others know of my bad experience also. These flowers were old when they sent them on Monday------and you know they had to have known that. If they didn't, even worse. I have been meaning to sit done and write a review about how this florist ruined my anniversary surprise. My husband ordered flowers for our 4th anniversary. I was initially excited about them when they arrived on 1/12/17. When my husband came home he was disappointed in the size of the arrangement. By 1/14/17, half of the roses were dying and the other la were moldy. Unfortunately, my husband did not get to call them as he went out of town. I have had flowers from HEB last longer. (Even they guarantee you a week) It's very disappointing that flowers from an actual florist didn't come with the same guarantee. Never again will be be ordering from this florist. read more

I have been receiving flowers from my husband from The Flower Bucket for four years. This past year he was deployed in Afghanistan, but would call the shop and order me flowers to surprise me. The owner and designer were so helpful to him. I have gotten over 15 arrangements from them for all different occassions and they are amazing. My mother is in the flower (design) industry and it takes a lot to impress me, but The Flower Bucket does a unique and great job everytime. I am highly disappointed in this flower shop and the arrangement I received. A few friends from work ordered flowers for our boss's wife. I asked for an $86 arrangement to be ready within an hour. When we got there I got a $50 arrangement that was thrown together. When I asked the kind lady how much she thought this was worth, she said maybe $60. I kindly informed her that we paid $86 for these, and she pointed us to the gentleman we ordered from. He began getting an attitude informing me how they price their flowers and wouldn't let me speak. When I informed him that he wasn't even listening to me, he got an even bigger attitude and told me that he I was being rude, when I simply told him my feelings toward the arrangement.
