JD here is awesome! He is 5 stars. If you end up shopping here contact him first. He is not in on Thursday and Friday. Why the low rating. The rest of the staff here are unhelpful. If you are not doing business with them, they do not want to help you. I called in to check on the delivery status of the order. All they would tell me is some time next week. After pestering them, they offered Tuesday or Wednesday. It was like pulling teeth. I paid about 3x what I would pay for a similar product in a box store. Next time I need flooring I am going to consider other business if possible. What did I learn today? The delivery window to the store is 9am to 4pm. When I enquired about the price rather than trying to sell me for today price which is high she told me about their president day sale next week. Judy offered me the upcoming next week price today considering my project schedule. Judy didn't try to make quick money on me. That tells you this place values there customers. This place is family owned they have been in business for last 30 years and Judy and other few employees at this store have worked here since beginning. This impressed me because an employer taking care of their employees is awesome. There price was 20% less than the best price I could find out there and I have researched about a week. I have lot more projects coming at my home and I found my place for my stuff. Just realized that they have a 10% off coupon in yelp. He send me photos of vinyl planking to choose from and, after I chose color and type of flooring, sent me a detailed invoice. Because of a sale, the price was discounted. Manny and Victor, the team who came to my condo, immediately inspired confidence. They answered all my questions, removed the old tile, leveled the floor carefully, and installed the new planking efficiently. Alex at the Concord store is well versed with all the different flooring and did a fantastic job explaining the difference. When we finally decided, we went with a red oak engineered hardwood. I love his laid back personality, there is no pressure at all. The installation is perfect. Three guys showed up sharp at 8 am and finished carpeting 1500 sq in one day! They ripped the old carpet and swept the subfloor before putting down carpet pad. They also vacuumed my new carpet when they finished. We've had a bunch of floor work done in our home. First we had over 1200 sq ft of wood floors installed downstairs, then we had the carpet on our stairs replaced and then finally we had our master bathroom tiled. Originally I went to the Floor Store last year to get a quote for the wood floors, but I never received a callback after my initial visit to the store. I called numerous times to get a quote after someone came to our home to measure the space, but I never received follow up. We ended up going with Fine Floorz in Walnut Creek for our floors, which was a nightmare in and of itself (but its done, whew!). I decided to give The Floor Store another chance with a smaller scale job, replacing the carpet on our spiral staircase. We worked with Tariq (the manager) and had an excellent experience. The installer was in and out in 1 day. Very good! Since we were impressed with our staircase we decided to work with Tariq again to have our master bathroom and closet tiled. The price was fair and they had a tile we really liked so we signed the contract. We paid 50% of the cost upfront. The materials were ordered. The job was scheduled by Tony. The tile was installed by Miguel and Alex over 3.5 days and it looks awesome! I would highly recommend The Floor Store for your carpet and tiling needs (not sure about wood floors). Make sure to request Miguel and Alex for your tile job because they are awesome. Miguel was very professional, knowledgeable and honest. We replaced the upstairs carpeting on the stairs, in the hall and in 3 bedrooms. We ordered the carpet some months ago, but with the holidays, etc., we didn't have it installed until just last week. From beginning to end, The Floor store (Thank you sales rep Curtis and the install team) was with us every step of the way. We replaced worn, not quite a shag, carpeting with a tighter Karastan sculptured weave carpet. The difference is amazing! We love the look and the feel of the carpet. The install included a nice thick padding so it feels very soft to the step when you walk on it. The install took an entire day. The install team was fantastic! They worked diligently from the time they arrived until the install was complete. Major furniture was moved by the install team during installation and put back in place when they finished. We previously emptied dresser drawers, clothing, shoes and stored everything in the bathrooms until the carpeting was installed. Angel also did an amazing job carpeting the stairs (wrapped carpeting around each individual stair) and landing leading up to the second floor. The sale price was right, the sales rep was knowledgeable and install was as painless as possible. Can't beat that combination. Thanks to The Floor Store. read more

The store itself is nice, with a lot of selection. However, I went in specifically looking for Forbo Click. No samples of this particular Forbo product were in stock, so the lady behind the counter said she would order some samples. The estimate was "about a week" and she would "call me" when they came in. Two weeks later, no call. I go in, and ask another lady. She says it might be a few more days. Okay. Another week, no call. I go in and look at the Forbo section thinking maybe she just forgot to call. Nope. This is on top of being ignored each time I go in the store and having to track down help. At this point I figure my business is not that important to the company. 1-Star for the store design. 1-Star for the staff being polite, albeit not following through, once I track them down. Originally I was going to order it through The Floor Store and have them do the installation. Instead, I ordered it myself and will install it myself. We went to the Floor Store hoping to find a floor that matched the existing one in the house we just bought. Reggie, Assistant Manager, was able to find the exact one among the throngs of floor. Reggie ordered the flooring and within 2 weeks the floors were installed. Tony, in charge of the installation, called us to schedule an appointment which was scheduled for the following day. This was accomplished right before Christmas which was another plus. Manny and Reuben were the installers who are talented young men and know their craft, they worked diligently and cleaned everything up after them. The finished product is simply amazing and beautiful. We wish we had gone to the Floor Store prior to this when we were in our other house. We walked in and were immediately greeted. They had little toys and costume jewelry for our daughter, which she really enjoyed. Everyone was very engaged, without seeming pushy. They just seemed genuine. This was our first trip, basically there to pick out a type/style of flooring. We were able to do exactly what we needed and grabbed the contact information for Sherri.
