Impossible to get a response now. Initially set up a home visit/consult for 5-5:30 and told me he was running late be there in 30 -45 min(which I appreciated). Waited on a Fri evening at home till 8:30 for consult or response and had to text him why he didn't show up. Tried to set up another appt; he said the following afternoon 2-3 pm. Messaged him back to confirm and he never wrote back or showed up. Last message never responded been over a week. Might do good work but lacks decency to respond to messages or just say he's not interested. Fooled me too many times; looking for another service. read more

Michael was fantastic to work with! He is professional, efficient, and does great work. He explained what he was doing and what materials that he used so that I knew I was getting not only the best price (thanks Michael!) but also the best installation method for my situation. I was lucky to find him through ThumbTack originally but won't have to use ThumbTack again. He was super easy to schedule, arrived on time, and managed to install my TV in my absolutely packed living room. We had just moved our two households into one so we had two couches, two wardrobes, and all of our bookshelves crammed into the living room. Michael had literally about 6 square feet to work in and he still got the TV mounted on the wall at exactly the height where it needed to be to watch it comfortably and hid all the cables in such a way that didn't damage the wall. Since we're renting, actually drilling into the wall wasn't an option for us so he had to be creative and he made it work! No visible cables, a level and secure TV, and we could access all the accessories (DVD player, cable box, etc) that we needed. All that and no damage to the wall: Perfect. We're moving out soon and having Michael back to take the TV down for us to make sure that we don't do any damage to the TV or the wall and I am totally confident that with Michael's care and expertise we'll be getting our security deposit back. We hired Michael to mount our TV to the wall and do some wiring work and he was great. Michael was really friendly, professional, and great at what he did. Before I hired him, I was trying to decide between three other companies and just happened to come across Michael's yelp page so I decided to give him a call. Michael spent a fair amount of time talking with me over the phone about the installation plan and his various recommendations for HDMI and optic cables that I could get on Amazon. Out of all the companies/people I'd contacted, Michael was the ONLY person who asked very specific questions about the set up we were envisioning and brought up things that I hadn't even though of and that no one else had mentioned but yet were integral to the installation, e.g. did we have a CL3 rated HDMI cable? tl;dr: Michael didn't have the time of day for me, even though I was willing to pay his higher prices compared to others. I contacted Michael about mounting my new 77" LG GX OLED TV. I saw prior reviews mentioning he had done a great job with this exact model and sized TV, as well as the dozens of other 5-star reviews for his services, so I knew I wanted to work with him. I reached out for a quote on Yelp, and Michael setup a call to talk over details. This is the start of multiple instances when Michael was too busy or disinterested in taking my business. On the first call, we talked over requirements for this job: this TV model and size have specific requirements to achieve a fully flush wall-mount, that are more particular than other TVs. Michael and I discussed this info and he told me he was well experienced with the LG GX, and had even attended an LG retailer conference last year on installing the GX models. He also told me about needing certain HDMI cables which were rated for in-wall use (and at least 15 ft). Michael stated he'd send me the specific brand he recommends so I could order prior to the mounting. Finally, we discussed price for his service, and while Michael's quote was much higher than others I researched (by $200-300), I was willing to pay for his expertise and seemingly perfect track record of prior reviewers. After this initial call, I didn't hear from Michael regarding any of the details he said he'd follow up with (HDMI cable info and scheduling). When I followed up a day later, Michael again said he'd get me the info later that day, as he was currently on a job. However, Michael did seem to have time to discuss over text whether I could still return the TV I bought. He asked how much I bought it for and where the purchase was made. I had got this TV on sale for $3300 through BuyDig (an LG authorized retailer). He claimed he could beat what I paid through local retailers, if I was willing to pick it up in Kirkland. (which, even if I had a vehicle that could fit this sized TV, wouldn't have been worth the hassle of returning mine as the price difference would have been ~$150). Michael even tried some "scare" tactics: saying TVs this size are meant to be shipped via freight (uh, what? how does he think global logistics work?), and that if there was any issue with the TV after mounting, I'd have to pay him again to unmount it (whereas if I bought it through him, this would be free). I told him I wasn't interested in this, and just needed his mounting services. Afterwards, he again, didn't follow-up with the info for HDMI cables and scheduling. I reached out one last time after doing my own research on cables, and getting quotes from other TV installation businesses (all highly reviewed as well), as I truly wanted to work with Michael. He responded that he would need to check with this team on availability, as this would be a two person job, and he'd get back to me later in the day. Guess what? He again didn't respond. After all this, I went with another installer (ThoseTechGuys), who did the job perfectly and promptly, without hassle. As an additional point against Michael, the 15 ft cable length he said was required ended up being far much for my setup (compared to the 10 ft ones I initially had ordered), so now I have coils of excess cables to hide behind my media console. I wish I could have had the same glowing reviews that others have for Michael, but unfortunately, he just didn't have the time or interest in earning my business despite multiple chances I gave him. read more

Maybe Michael was having a bad week. He and I connected by email and phone and set up a consultation at the condo downtown Seattle at 7 pm. He told me I had to pay him $45 for the consult, which I agreed to. He was more than 30 minutes late. I showed him where the tv is to be mounted and discussed the components needed for a sound system and tv. Michael said he would get me a proposal within 2 days. I gave him $45 cash. He didn't send the proposal within 2 days. I followed up with him by email 10 days later. His response was that the reason he didn't send me a proposal is that he thought I was cheating on him and hired someone else. He then wrote that he would re-email the proposal because he'd had some issues with his outbox and his quoting setup. By that point, I wasn't surprised that he didn't follow through. A few days later I sent him another email asking for clarification and giving him an opportunity to make things right. He didn't respond. So, I'm out $45 and have to start the process over. It's disappointing because I'm all about supporting small businesses. I made the decision to hire Michael because of all the great reviews. I guess I'm an outlier. read more

Mike came over on a Tuesday to install my new 65" TV, a Sonos soundbar and Blu-ray player and did a fantastic job in not just the installation but also the setup of all components. On Tuesday night I was thinking, damn, there's still a lot of space on my wall. The next day I contacted Mike and said I changed my mind, I want a 75" now. He couldn't help but laugh. When I told Mike how much I was going to pay for the 75, he gave me one of his contacts who was able to get me a better deal. Knowing that I was on a time-crunch to return the 65, Mike came over that Friday and uninstalled the 65 and installed the 75. So not only is Mike very accommodating with his busy schedule, but he he also does excellent work (very sharp/professional display, cleans up any mess from cutting into the wall and helps with the component setup/education), he's very reasonably priced (gave me a price break for the second installation even though it was about the same amount of work - plus he had to take down the 65"), AND he's well connected. Give Mike a call before you purchase a TV or sound system and he may be able to get you a better deal than the sales you'd see at Best Buy or Costco. read more

I selected Michael based on his feedback as well as the fact that he was working on the weekend when I called the previous week to schedule..
