I was greeted at the door, led to a chair, and spoiled, while Paul measured my feet, checked the stock for different sizes and styles, assisted me with trying on different shoes and kept track of my purchases while I browsed the store for more. Paul was so kind & professional. He listened to my concerns, asked thoughtful questions about where & why I'd be wearing my new shoes, and found me two sets of shoes made from high-quality leather that are made to last. This was my first visit to SAS shoes, but it certainly won't be my last. Like Paul says, "cheap things usually aren't made to last and things made to last usually aren't cheap!"

Edit from my original review: The Cheektowaga store manager (Theresa) and I connected after I left…read moremy initial Google review. I made an appointment with her and she did a new fitting. It turns out the original fitting done back in January (by the former employee) was completely wrong. Based on the correct fitting, I was given a completey new set of orthodics. Theresa has continued to follow up, and I would say I'm a work in progress. I believe the orthodics I now have fit correctly, but unfortunately, they weren't a miracle cure. I still have foot pain (mostly in my right). Perhaps I haven't had enough time yet with the correct orthodics, or perhaps they will never fix my issue. Theresa and I have agreed to stay in touch, and we will get together again in a couple months to see where I am. She appears very commited to seeing this through until my foot pain is gone. Based on my experience with Thersa, I have updated the stars from 1 to 3. If the stars were only based on Theresa, I would leave a 5, but since they are based on the entire experience, I'm giving it a 3.

Turns out he pulled off both pairs in two weeks and the service requested was completed with a high degree of quality. The value of having it done local is much better than shipping the boots back to the manufacture for warranty repair as well. I wear my boots everyday and walk a lot so it was important to me that the service requested was done correctly and quickly. He was able to accomplish the job on both.

BUYING NEW SHOES IS FOR SUCKERS…read more Why on Earth would anyone throw out a pair of old shoes because the soles had worn when the Village Cobbler can fix them for you for dirt cheap, and possibly even improve them? I brought in a pair of Merrill hiking boots I use for work. I love these boots. They're comfortable, lightweight and have a Gore-Tex liner in them. I have had them for years, and the soles where run down so thin that everywhere I walked you'd swear I was walking on banana peels. Village Cobbler was able to removed the stock soles and installed for me -- get this -- rocket power boot soles that allow me to fly around like Iron Man. Ok, they don't sell rocket powered boot soles, unfortunately, but I did get Vibram soles installed for $50. Not a bad deal, right? More importantly, they look and feel great. I was so impressed with the work that I immediately dropped off another pair of boots for another re-sole job. I plan to drop off a third when there finished as well. So, for now I will scratch the rocket boots and stick with the Vibrams.... At least until my FAA license for rocket boots gets approved, and I can afford to pay off the loan on my coffin.

Much more in stock in my size plus their prices were decent. I also found a cute spring purse I had to have for 25% off . The gals at the register could not find my info for the rewards points, so they signed me up again , which made the checkout process a bit longer than I am used to. But overall , I am happy with my purchases and I would consider going there again in the future.
