I've been going to The Fish in Midtown for over a decade. Although the restaurant is not as busy as they used to be, they have never failed to impress me. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The service here is always amazing and consistent, and the same goes for their delicious food. Every time I go here, I always have to get the Dynamite Shrimps. They're so flavor-packed and have just the right amount of spiciness, the perfect amount for an appetizer. The Grilled Salmon is my go-to entree; the brussel sprouts that come with it are perfectly seasoned, crispy, and delicious. Instead of the arugula salad that comes with it, I like to substitute it for white rice. I also recently tried their Salt and Pepper Catfish, which was also perfectly seasoned and crispy. I didn't order these during my last visit, but some of my other favorite dishes include their Blue Crab Fried Rice, BBQ Short Ribs, Volcano Roll, and many more. read more

Very chill ambiance with attentive waiting staff. The lobster puff were great only change would be for a thinner batter as they were not very crunchy but had great flavor. The food and my drink took some time to come out, not sure why because it was really slow with about 9 people being here, with lots of crew. they offered me a coloring page for her, which was so nice of them, and it help lol! I decided to try this place after my girlfriend told me she'd been going here for years. Thr decor is very nice, fancy but still comfortable. Service was fast and friendly as well. We started off with the dynamite shrimp, which came with a generous order of battered shrimp in their dynamite sauce. The flavor was fantastic, although I wish the batter stayed crispy for longer. I went with the salt and pepper catfish for my main entree. The catfish had an amazing texture with just the right amount of kick and flavor from the szechuan peppercorn. This restaurant had happy hour ALL Sunday! My wife and I truly left happy! All of the food tasted great, and my favorite drink was the cucumber margarita. Thoroughly enjoyed this place. They have lots of sushi options and plenty of options for those that don't do raw sushi. So everyone was satisfied! I got to try a couple of different appetizers - the edamame and the beef ribeye rolls. The edamame came out warm with just the right amount of salt. And the beef rolls weren't bad! Think thinly cut steak shaped like an egg roll cut in half. Interesting take on an egg roll! I had the millennium roll, which was great! The pepper tuna on top along with the avocado was perfect. I also tried some of the fish roll - so good with the strawberries and three different proteins and with the dried jalapeño on top... A lot happening, but all flavors that go well together! I came her with my wife and daughter on a Saturday at 6 pm. There were only a few other tables in the restaurant. The food was decent but the service was bad. The waiter took forever to get to our table and was inattentive at best. To top it off, they added an automatic 20% gratuity. Which is ridiculous for a party of 3. This place is really nice and spacious. They offer indoor or outdoor dining. My friend and I opted to sit at the bar. I ordered the miso soup, shrimp tempura roll, spicy edamame, and the yellowtail Crudo. Everything tasted well and fresh. Only con, I wasn't a huge fan of the toppings on the yellowtail Crudo. The Lychee martini was my favorite! It was made well and on the spot. It wasn't pre-made like some of the local spots in Houston. I also tried the lemon drop but it wasn't as great as the Lychee. The Edemame was nicely seasoned and the Crab Puffs were a taste extravaganza. Our waitress Cassandra suggested a couple of rolls that we enjoyed completely and the Manager/Bartender created a delightful cocktail that was very special. I finally got a chance to stop by. I initially wanted to go because of a House music DJ that would spin there from time to time so I said what the heck sushi and good music. What a winner!!! Well the night we went there was no DJ but it was a great evening so we sat outside and people watched and had some good sushi. Our servers name is sadly forgotten but they did a great job on tending to me and my guest. I forgot the name of 1/2 the rolls that I tried.
