The Feve is without a doubt the best place to eat and hang out in Oberlin. The food is always good and sometimes great, although the brunch menu sometimes goes a little off the deep end and they don't serve any desserts. You can get tater tots with tons of excellent dipping sauces, and everything is incredibly affordable. It's also open later than most of the other restaurants in town, and tends to be the center of downtown Oberlin's "night-life." Don't stop in The Feve for a quick meal, though. While the staff is really nice, the service is unbelievably slow, even when it's not that busy. read more

I am from the Chicago area and have family in Wellington, OH. They take us to The Feve every time we visit because we love it so much. I've had both their brunch and lunch/dinner. In my opinion, the brunch is better than their lunch/dinner. Served only on the weekends, it's different every weekend and it's amazing. They also got me addicted to white wine spritzers!!! There is always a wait but I don't mind waiting for this food. And they put you upstairs to wait so you can sit and talk and have coffee while you wait. The burgers are great. We also love the spinach pie. The best thing on the lunch/dinner menu is the breaded mushrooms- I cannot eat breaded mushrooms from anywhere else now. Great local color! Pronounced "the fev" - or you'll get funny looks. The tater tots are their specialty and make sure to get one of their signature sauces or spices. Fresh, eclectic and flavorful food with good healthy options. We split a small basket of tots with garlic for an app. And I had the Thai chicken wrap with a side of veggies and hummus. Both were bursting with flavor. Wait staff are friendly but not overbearing. A great place to grab a drink with friends as well. read more

I seriously think this is one of the best brunch spots in the whole country. I live in San Francisco and travel frequently. The menu here is so inventive, fun and delicious. Before it was cool they were sourcing healthy, local ingredients, and they still do. There are always new and delectable dishes on the menu, along with the classics. The owner and chefs take inspiration from their world travels where they try every crazy street food in every car flung country and bring it back to this menu. Service is always great, beer selection too. Sitting upstairs is preferable to down for me, it's too packed in down. My only complaint is that the lunch/dinner menu needs to be changed/mixed up. read more

Hot damn was this a nice find! My wife and I had taken a short road trip to take some photos at a near by state park and stopped in Oberlin for some grub and more photos. We parked right by The Feve but walked around first. We met a nice man who recommended The Feve, giving it good a good review. We took his word and he was spot on. we got a mix of burgers, wings, and stinky tots which are garlic tater tots that would make Tina feed them to Napoleon. Fun eclectic place for Sunday brunch. Nice selection of fresh flavorful food. We had the chicken chimichanga and the lump crabmeat and fontina omelet. Both were meals were clean your plate delish!! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well as the other staff in the restaurant. We ate upstairs. Huge selection of beer. I tried the brunch bloody Mary. It was huge and was very good. Just the right amount of spice. My only negative is the bathroom. I understand it's a college town and college bar, but there were a lot of parents and younger siblings when we there and the lack of a toliet seat is just lazy management in my eyes none of these people want to use a bathroom with no seat. ( No soap in the other bathroom). There is hardware store next door. Go buy a toliet seat and install it. It takes 5 minutes and maybe cost $10.00. It's a life skill everyone should be able to do. Management needs to step up and take care of maintenance problems. Why should the wait staff have to explain to the customer. I'm sorry one bathroom doesn't have a seat. Management needs Grow up, consider your customers and respect your business. After 30 years in food service industry, This was unacceptable management practices. read more

My sister and I stopped in there while out in Oberlin. She's been several times. It was my first trip. We both ended up having a cocktail. She had wine and I had a beer. The bartender was quite friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up with a Victoria that give my beloved Tecate a run for her money. We had Crab Cakes as an appetizer and they were fantastic. Well seasoned and a ton of crab. Now onto the main course. I had a bacon avocado burger. Very well done. The bacon was perfectly crisp. I cannot stand wimpy bacon. They totally have this right. The Brioche bun was wonderful along with this. I got a side of Tater Tots. They offer a side salad, fries and tater tots. I think there was one more choice, but those tots....they were superb. My sister got a cheese burger with muenster and chipotle mayo. She asked for the mayo on the side. Good thing she did! That stuff was hot! So, be aware that if you aren't into a delayed wave of heat scorching your tongue, then get that stuff on the side. Her fries were a bit salty for her taste, but I honestly though they were fine. Always the best. As a college student, the ever-changing brunch menu always has something new and exciting that I can't help myself from stopping in every weekend to eat. The servers are phenomenal and sweet, and the atmosphere fits anywhere from a family meal to a date. The dinner menu is absolutely delicious, and I've heard positive things about the bar. Have never had a bad experience or heard of anyone having a bad experience. This place is barely adequate. It was very dirty. There were cobwebs and dust on windowsills and greasy tables. The food is fair pub fare. My jerk chicken tasted like jerk sauce poured from a bottle and not cooked into the chicken. The menu is basic and uninspired. This may be a factor of the town it is in. Oberlin is a small college town. Perhaps there isn't sufficient public for a good restaurant in this town. read more

Dropped in with my daughter when visiting Oberlin College. Reviews were good and decided to check it out. It's got a college town casual vibe with local art on wall and hip bar. He service was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Some good craft brew selections on tap. Menu is broad selection of sandwiches, burgers and salads. I had the Cuban and it was amazing. Probably one of he best sandwiches I've had. Pork is prepared special recipe and slow seasoned on site. My daughter had a blue cheese burger and that was very good too. Definitely try the tater tots. Crispy and delicious. I will definitely go back and try other menu items again if I am ever back in town or even driving by on interstate 80. No vegan options at brunch. Incredibly hungry now. Will smoke a cigarette. Also, I couldn't smoke inside the feve. So I am hungry. Historically, my partner and I likes to snowball with feve tater tots in each of our mouths. I think we will still order the tater tots, b/c we enjoy this. If I could give 2.75 stars, I think that would be more accurate. There is only one bathroom which makes it problematic to drink 4 cups of coffee (free refills by the way, a nice addition) and then have to use the facilities which are crowded with people who have eaten too much cheese. read more

Visited this place about two months ago. The only thing I can say about this place is that it's a nice looking place. The service was horrific. Employees drinking on the job. The food took over an hour to be served and when I brought it up, I was answered with a whole lot of attitude. We got up and left without even taking a bite. The Feve is an awesome place to go for brunch. They serve fresh squeezed OJ and the menu changes every week. The choices are always unique. (Think ingredients like wild mushrooms, goat cheese, polenta, etc.)This brunch is pretty gourmet! The best time to go is in the summer when Oberlin college is not in session. This place is awesome first time ever in last Saturday was in town for garage sales was told by several towns people about the feve when I asked about where to eat. After all that would know.
