Was there tonight for dinner with my family after soccer! Service wasn't the greatest and i get that " People aren't perfect" I'm a server myself and have been in the industry for 30 years but let me tell you it takes alot for me to give a bad review! Not only was our food ice cold when finally brought to the table but when i asked for 2 of the 5 meals to be discounted they did just that but had the audacity to ADD a 20% gratuity on top of it! There was no gratuity added on the first check by the way and when i spoke up and asked why the manager did that he bold faced lied to me and told me that it was on the first check... my 1st total was $66 and some change after he took off $17.99 for cold food how did my check end up being $60 and some change ( because he thought and the server thought i wasn't gonna leave a tip that's why)....: as a server my self i Would NEVER not leave a tip but when you take it upon yourself to lie to a customer and tell me it was there to start you have an issue! I was actually going to leave her $15 for her crappy service and he shorted her on that when he took it upon himself to add 20% after the fact!!!! This place i DO NOT RECOMMEND and I'm almost certain the Health Department needs to make a visit as well!!!!! read more

Waitress was nice, atmosphere okay, food not so good. Taco salad with chicken had plenty of chicken, although a bit dry, some lettuce, 1/2 slice tomato and maybe a tablespoon of cheese, a small dollop of sour cream. Shell overcooked. Food was a 4.5 out of 5. We had the lunch size carnitas and chimichanga without rice. It would have been a 5 if the pork was a little more moist. Service was very good. Had 3 different servers helping our table. Pretty landscaping outside. Inside carpets need to be professionally cleaned. Overall would definitely come back. read more

Very disappointed in service and food. We stop here every time we are in Vermillion and always have loved the food. Not this time, maybe they changed cooks-he needs to be fired as well as our server, Jon M. He has no personality or people skills. Nobody in the restaurant and we had to wait an extremely long time to be served and receive our food. Salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Food had no Mexican taste to it at all. When we asked when our food would be out he replied, that's why I brought my lunch. So dissapointing. read more

Stopped in for lunch today, it was my first time here. We were told to seat ourselves by the bartender at the bar. The menu is typical Mexican food. Chips and salsa were served and the chips were warm and fresh, the salsa was tasty but a little runny and really hard to scoop on your chips. My friend and I both ordered the lunch portion of Fiesta Fajitas, they came with shrimp, steak, chicken and chorizo they were very tasty, the rice had a great flavor as well. The ladies bathroom is dated and looks dingy but was clean. Unfortunately, there was extremely large cob webs on the window sills right next to us, it ruined the ambience and made the restaurant appear dirty to me. All in all a good meal, I'd give them a second chance. read more

Not a birthday to remember! Our friend chose this restaurant to celebrate her 75th birthday, and boy was it a HUGE disappointment. She called twice to make certain they had a reservation for our large group. Then her husband stopped at the restaurant 3 hours before our reservation to drop off a birthday cake for his bride. Imagine his disappointment when he arrived to find the manager gave the table to another large group. That left our group of 13 stranded at a small table and the bar... where it took 25 minutes for a server to begin taking orders (the bar was an afterthought for the servers) So instead of enjoying a meal at a locally owned restaurant, our group went to Wendy's down the street, where the service was great and they provided us some dishes for the cake. At least we'll have something to laugh about. read more

We love this place!! We stop here on our way to Cedar Point for a margarita and chips, then stop on our way home for food. Their raspberry margaritas are perfect!! The salsa they serve with the free chips is great. You can't really taste the peppers, and it's not chunky at all! Great prices too. read more

Wow. That was awful. The food was decent, but it arrived warm, not hot. While the staff was somewhat friendly (mostly with people they knew as custom tees), the service was unbelievably poor. Our waiter came and took our drink order, but he was more interested in other tables that were most likely regulars. The waiter brought our menus and our drinks and we sat for nearly 15 minutes waiting to place our order. I had to flag the manager down to take our order. When our order came, someone else dropped our warm entrees off and that was the Kast visit we had from any of the staff. After I finished my margarita, I put it near the edge of the table, and it sat there for 30 minutes. We got half way through our meal and no drink refresh. So we stopped eating, hoping to just get the check and go. No one stopped. No one noticed. Obviously, no one cared. Fair enough. I had to get my own to go boxes! I then went up to the front to ask for the check. I told him that maybe we weren't regulars but sure wouldn't be after this experience. This is a very solid choice for quality Mexican food. The decor and ambiance in the restaurant is pretty cool. It's clean and relaxing. Next, maybe one of the most important aspects of a Mexican restaurant, the chips. The chips are good. Very full/thick and fresh. My wife prefers thinner chips, but I enjoyed these. Fresh salsa and we had two orders of the queso. I went with a chicken burrito, it was very good - cooked properly with a nice blend of sauces and spices. My wife had a variety of enchiladas, which I finished for lunch the next day. It was all very good, even the day after. There is another somewhat local Mexican restaurant, it's about 10 miles away just past Huron. We tried that restaurant a few weeks ago and I ended up not doing a review because it was just a "meh experience". Fiesta Cancun in Vermilion is hands down better and will be our go-to when we are in the area. read more

My husband loves Mexican food. I have to be picky about it because I am allergic to onions. I know, tragic! But when I go there, I explain that and order only one dish that they carefully prepare for me devoid of onions. I am grateful that they are willing to accommodate me so that my husband can enjoy some of his favorite dishes. The atmosphere is pleasant and family friendly during the day and early evening hours (We don't dine late at night so I don't know what the nightlife is like there). The staff is wonderful and the service is timely. The prices are fare and the food is delicious. I have only wonderful experiences here. Came in for dinner while in town. I ordered the combination with 2 options, a quac tostada and a chicken quesadilla with a margarita. My husband ordered the chicken chimmichanga with a beer. The chips and salsa were disappointing. The salsa didnt have much zip...salsa needs zip! Maybe its because we are in Ohio and zippy isnt the mode here. Our food arrived and while it was satisfactory and filling, it lacked flavor. No sauce...pico, salsa, sour cream...nothing. The guac on the tostada was almost sour. The quesadilla, greasy. We had made reservations for 15 people at 5 pm, but when we arrived they did not have any tables set up for us so we literally had to move all the tables and chairs. There was only one server for all of us. He did a fairly good job with drink orders, and they gave us plenty of chips and salsa which was very good. He took orders and we had to wait quite awhile for food. When they finally started bringing it, it was two plates at a time. Some people were just about done eating by the time the last people got their food. This was disappointing. I had the enchiladas supreme and they had a decent taste, but were barely warm. My husband had a combination platter with a chicken chimichanga, a beef soft taco and a beef enchilada. All were just ok, and again, barely warm. It's also the only Mexican restaurant in Vermilion so we are indeed lucky that it's so yummy. Is it 100% authentic Mexican? Maybe not entirely but their offerings are always very good. This has been a local favorite of mine for years. Unfortunately, something has changed. The portions have become ridiculously small. Not just the meat portion, but inexpensive sides like rice, beans and lettuce. They have opened another restaurant in town Tekila, and since then the food has suffered. We spoke with the manager and she said they have not raised their prices. 12.99 for the borrito and 13.99 for the carnitas. It seems they are compensating by reducing their portions, and they are now way overpriced for what you get. I hope they rethink their business plan. Sadly, we will not be returning and I can no longer recommend them. read more

We have visited this restaurant numerous times in the two years we have been here in Vermilion. The ambiance is authentic except it's always dirty. The service has always been good and exceptionally good since we have had the pleasure of having Tabitha as our server. She is professional and personable. Most of all, she pays attention to detail. Unfortunately, the food has always been bad except for the salsa. I have tried numerous times to order shrimp dishes and the shrimp is so hard, it's even difficult to cut it with a knife. The rice this last time was cold and tacky. The photo on the menu showed some lettuce but it was overcooked shrimp on top of the cold rice. One time we dined there, I told them my shrimp was overcooked and some angry person came out of the kitchen and handed me a plate with very undercooked shrimp. I guess we won't return. I'd never heard of this combination, but I really enjoyed my potato and spinach burritos (I'm a vegetarian). In fact, everyone was very pleased with their choices. So tonight two of us went into the restaurant to eat. The vegetarian quesadilla contained lots of vegetables--emphasis on sweet peppers, along with tomatoes, mushrooms, and more--plus cheese.
